O Music Recordings continue to amass worldwide plaudits on account of a flurry of high-quality productions

O Music Recordings

An independent record label founded in 2016, by platinum-selling producer & sound design graduate Otto Orlandi, O Music Recordings continue to amass worldwide plaudits on account of a flurry of high-quality productions, staying true to the label’s ethos of upbeat and infectious mainstream pop/dance music.

Based in the heart of Milan’s financial district, O Music Recordings pair classic Italian style, with slick releases that are designed to resonate broadly, with their global fanbase. With O Music’s first release, the imperious ‘Don’t Miss You’ (featuring Melanie Fontana) amassing over 2.6 million Spotify streams (entering the Top 200 in Italy), the track then peaked at number #7 in iTunes Italy for 55 consecutive days, cementing the label’s foundation for future success and musical direction.

With the single supported by Marc Eteson in his Hakkasan Las Vegas set, it went on to achieve seven days at top spot in the Nexus Radio chart, edging out productions from the likes of Tiesto & KSHMR.

Teaming up with Sony Music on several releases, O Music Recordings place a heavy emphasis on quality over quantity & ‘Don’t Miss You’ was followed by three more slices of O Music trademark electronica, firstly ‘Volcano’ Ft ADN. The release saw Otto Orlandi work closely with Adien Lewis – better known as ADN (ft. on Sebastian Drums – ‘Jump On It’) & the song was penned by legendary Curtis Richa.

Curtis has been responsible for writing/producing albums that have sold in excess of 28 million units worldwide & has also worked with artists including Jennifer Lopez, Rihanna, Joss Stone, LL Cool J, Deborah Cox, Craig David and many more. Closely behind, dropped the applauded ‘Seven Days’, as Melanie Fontana returned to the label & the single has now notched up close to 1 million streams.

This was then followed by the mighty ‘Fever’ – which saw Otto collaborate with RAYNE & Karmello on another highly anticipated single. Ron Geffen, aka RAYNE is a multi- talented producer / artist hailing from New York & Karmello is co-founder, lead singer in the band Wild Planes & their collaboration was met with rapturous praise.

The irresistible floor-filler ‘Oddest Goddess’ (featuring ‘Hussle Girl’ label owner Ayah Marar, who featured on Calvin Harris’ huge hit ‘Thinking About You’ – over 115 million Spotify streams), dropped next, seeing Otto Orlandi work alongside The Chordz & with the success stories continuing to flow – O Music’s track record places Otto in a unique position of influence and authority.

The Italian producer’s recipe has proved to be a simple but effective potion; a good helping of adaptability and sprinkling of talent, together with a staunch belief in his own mission statement – never waning from the label’s own signature style.

Helping O Music Recordings to amass a loyal fanbase, who understand exactly what the label stands for, quality dance music for a wider audience, Otto’s latest hit – ‘Don’t Give Up’ featuring widely acclaimed songstress Molly Marrs – further solidifies O Music’s standing as not just a key player in the label world, but also in the list of dance music brands as a whole.

With the label relentlessly surging forward, the imprint continues to adapt, evolve and pave their own way in an industry, where few early endeavors have made such a meteoric impact, in a relatively short space of time since their launch. It’s an approach that continues to put Otto and O Music Recordings a step ahead, resulting in inspired release-upon-release & providing artists with personalized artist management and promotional services, to push them to the next level, including:

PROMO CAMPAIGNS: Delivering a bespoke/specialist-service, to promote your music to the world’s leading DJs and global radio stations. Additionally, helping artists get featured in key music blogs & leading online industry magazines.

Kevin Saunderson emerges with first original E-Dancer album in twenty years

Kevin Saunderson
Kevin Saunderson at Rex Club

When Kevin Saunderson revisited his 1998 E-Dancer album ‘Heavenly’ about two years ago, he could tell that it was geared more towards the darker depths of dance music in terms of vibe and overall atmosphere. It oozed with soundtrack potential, and the thought of creating just that kept lingering in his mind for all this time.

Not too long ago, it suddenly began to take shape when started working with the talented Virus J and mixed in – or infused – live sounds. The rest, as they say, is history, and released today on KMS as the first original E-dancer album in twenty years: ‘Infused’ (feat. Virus J).

Radiating more of a downtempo feel through its live instrumentation, live elements and string sections, ‘Infused’ marks a new ten-track chapter in the E-Dancer narrative, a change in rhythm and tempo, and a fresh wind ready to blow through the industry like a score does through a blockbuster. ‘Infused’ is where the soundtrack of the past collides with the future. And that’s an opportunity no dance music lovers can’t pass up on.

One of the originators of Techno and one third of the legendary The Belleville Three alongside Juan Atkins and Derrick May, Kevin Saunderson adopted many different aliases in his three-decade career so far, including famed monikers such as E-Dancer and Inner City. As Inner City (and with Paris Grey), he sold well over six million records worldwide and amassed twelve UK Top 40 hits with various singles as well as debut album ‘Paradise’. Kevin Saunderson is also the founder of KMS, the record label that has remained a staple in electronic music throughout the past thirty years.

Born Justinas Chachlauskas, Virus J is a professional sound engineer and music producer who first embarked into the scene as a producer in 2005. Since, the Lithuanian sound expert released an onslaught of records around the world, from a collaboration with Sandy Rivera on Defected to official remixes for the likes of T-Pain, DJ Pierre, Kings Of Tomorrow, Sultan, Deep Forest, Rui Da Silva and more, to acclaimed releases on Armada Deep, Defected, Toolroom, Ministry Of Sound, Hed Kandi, Ultra and other.

With his (joint) House Of Virus project, Virus J linked up with the legendary Marshall Jefferson as well as Kevin Saunderson, which means his contribution to this pivotal E-Dancer album makes it all come full circle again.

Florian Picasso continues incredible comeback with The Answer on Musical Freedom

Florian Picasso

After staging a triumphant return with the mighty ‘Glitch’ earlier this month Florian Picasso keeps the music flowing. He’s back on Tiësto’s label Musical Freedom following up last year’s release ‘Obsession’, with yet another beast: ‘The Answer’.

The track springs into life with twisted, distorted, filtered synth grunts, building a dark mood as shuffling house/garage beats step into the fray. A moody vocal refrain recalls The Prodigy’s classic vibes. A phat electro house synth pulse rises from depths and hits hard into full focus, twisting, turning and undulating around the speaker cones atop those galloping beats.

The main breakdown continues the aforementioned ravey theme, with ticking clocks adding a percussive rhythm over brooding, detuned leads and rousing on-beat claps. An epic synth build lifts us up towards the drop, with big swathes of white noise pulsing at the drop and rising sirens increasing the intensity. The electro synth gets a second layer added an octave higher at this point to really send the track into orbit.

Making it two-for-two with this hot new track, it looks like 2019 is going to be Florian‘s year. Watch out for much more new music coming soon and even bigger and better things over the next 12 months!

As expected, tickets will be in huge demand as fans flock to witness their only UK performance and undoubtedly one of 2019’s unmissable shows. BREAKING: Woodstock 50th anniversary festival in the works for 2019

woodstock
Woodstock

Looks like Woodstock festival might be a go.

This past weekend, one of the festival’s original promoters may have spilled the beans. His name is Michael Lang, and he says there are “definite plans” for a 2019 event. He later went on to say, “This is not a done deal yet, but it’s very close”.

A leaked pitch deck from the festival also lists a number of artists who could potentially be approached. Legends such as Pearl Jam, Eminem, and the Foo Fighters are said to have been pursued. Along with them might be Chance The Rapper, Lorde, Pink, Coldplay, Kesha, Ariana Grande and many more.

The Electronic Dance Music crowd might also be happy with Daft Punk, Swedish House Mafia, Skrillex, Deadmau5 and a few more rounding out the list.

Avicii’s name also appears on the deck, proving that this has been in the works since at least April before the producer’s death.
