Giorgia Angiuli releases debut album on Stil vor Talent ‘In A Pink Bubble’

giorgia angiuli

Giorgia Angiuli’s debut album In a Pink Bubble channels the artist’s effervescent persona and own bubbly style in a 12 track-long, honest musical expression.

Drawing inspiration from her first worldwide tour, where life on the road was impacted by personal loss, the album title In a Pink Bubble captures the essence of the artist’s mindset, caught in between the artistic world and real life: “I felt like in a pink bubble, between memories and new experiences, between darkness and colours”.

Brandishing an immersive sonic sphere, the classically trained musician played and recorded all instruments throughout the album, including her favourite weapons of choice, from her beloved 60’s guitar to vintage analog synths like the Moog Sub37, Juno 106, the infamous O-B-6 synth and more.

The synesthesia of dark and colourful with new and old memories stands at the core of the album, as introspective airy tracks intertwine with more dynamic, bass-heavy constructions.

On its luminous side, we see cuts radiating with crystalline, microscoping sounds with sweeping ambience like the opener A Perfect Day in Tulum, leading the listener on a nervous path towards more obscure tracks such as Copenhagen and Nothing to Lose, until bringing the atmosphere to a boiling point.

Music is Life encapsulates Giorgia‘s passion for her craft, an intrinsic part of her life that brings peace and inspiration: “Music is life with wings, sit in the warm water, just reflecting, being”.

Creation and being inspired represent another major theme present throughout the album, both in the eponymous track Inspiration, as well as A Temple Made by Air, where the artist can be heard singing: “Passion means satisfaction, wrong emotions create distortion, come with me to enjoy the green, stop losing time on your screen”.

Channeling an overflow of emotions, a return to humanity comes as a resolution for the artist, the central idea in The Contact is a Cure. Giorgia feels that, although useful, “technology is the big nightmare of our society, and we are all missing the contact with nature and human beings”.

Rounding off the last part of the release, the sun-drenched Pink Bubble stands as reflective and intense, managing to transfuse the same magnetism that is quintessential to Giorgia’s live performances.

With ‘In a Pink Bubble’, Giorgia Angiuli refines her signature sound across a range of tempos, in a project that can be appreciated both for its intricate groundings and beautiful simplicity.

Hard Grax & Pascovski V have dropped a brand new single ‘Believe’ ft. Nathan Brumley

Pascovski V

Hard Grax & Pascovski V have dropped a brand new fire track titled ‘Believe’ ft. Nathan Brumley.

Following the release of his luscious release ‘Go Home’ back in September, fast-rising Romanian producer Pascovski V has unveiled his brand-new single titled ‘Believe’, a slick collaboration with Hard Grax which is set to drop on London-based label, LFTD Recordings.

Utilising high-tempo chord patterns, ‘Believe’ pairs the melodic style of Hard Grax, best-known for his recent single ‘Chill Out’, with Pascovski V’s irresistible hooks, and features the uplifting vocals of Idaho singer/songwriter, Nathan Brumley.

Having won Embassy Music’s national songwriting contest, Brumley has made a name for himself with tracks featured in huge U.S shows ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ and ‘Ugly Betty.’ Lacing ‘Believe’ with his dynamic vocal range, Brumley had previously signed to Warner Bros, with 3 of his songs picked up by MTV, and Nickelodeon’s ‘Hollywood Heights’.

Having amassed a global reputation as a true EDM phenomenon, Pascovski V was snapped up by iconic Dutch imprint Spinnin’ Records in 2014 after producing his widely supported hit ‘Armed.’

Later collaborating with a range of artists from both the United States and Europe, Pascovski V has since founded his own LFTD Recordings label, with 2019 marking the start of an exciting new chapter in the tale of one of dance music’s most dynamic talents.

Sound Tulum welcomes DYSTOPIA with Luciano, Jennifer Cardini, Nicola Cruz and more

LUCIANO Dystopia

DYSTOPIA is a new concept created last summer in Ushuaïa Ibiza at the hands of the talented visionaries The Night League. An experience that immerses its audience in a universe that contrasts with the modern world: music, live art and performances viewed through a distorted lense.

A journey that plunges you into a new sensory paradise and invites you to explore your creativity. Brutal, surreal, beyond any limit or prejudice ideology; DYSTOPIA is radically different, it doesn’t compare to anything you’ve experienced before.

On Monday 7th of January DYSTOPIA presents its Mexican debut with a Hallucination theme. The celebration will take place in Zamna Tulum with Luciano as it’s headliner. The Chilean has settled in Switzerland and is one of the most respected artists in the international electronic industry.

Besides being the owner of Cadenza, one of the most influential electronic music record labels, he has one of the most high profile careers as a producer and as a DJ.

He will be joined by other visionaries: Jennifer Cardini, Nicola Cruz, Oceanvs Orientalis and Concret, renowned and essential figures in the contemporary electronic music, and there are still more names to be announced.

Skrillex ordered to pay $3.4 million for injuring fan

skrillex

American DJ and producer, Skrillex, real name Sonny John Moore, has lost a lawsuit against a fan who sued him over a stage-diving incident back in 2012.

The lawsuit was brought forth by 31-year-old Jennifer Fraissl after a stage diving incident involving Skrillex in Los Angeles. Jennifer is suingthe producer for damages from the impact of his jump which she claims was, “unavoidable”. To make things worse, Fraissl would have a stroke 16 days later.

Skrillex has since released this statement:

“There is nothing more important to me than my fans and their safety at my shows,” he wrote.

“I want them to have fun and enjoy the music. While I’m disappointed by the jury’s decision, I’m glad this process is over. I look forward to getting back to work and delivering new music to my fans.” he added.

The court cases deliberation lasted just two days with the jury awarding Fraissl a total of $4.5 million. Of that 4.5 million, $675,000 was deducted due to negligence on her part. Skrillex’s company, Lost Boys Touring Inc., will have to pay $3.4 million of the verdict, while the remainder, about $450,000, was charged to Belasco Entertainment Theater Inc.”

Berghain bouncer Sven Marquardt gets denied entrance into a nightclub

Sven Marquardt

Famous photographer and Berghain bouncer, Sven Marquardt who rejected many techno fans at the entrance of popular techno club in Berlin get’s denied entrance into a Sydney nightclub last weekend. Justice has been served we guess.

Sven Marquardt says in a recent interview that he was denied access due to his numerous face tattoos. After his exhibition at the Goethe-Institute in Sydney, Sven was denied at a local Sydney nightclub and says this isn’t the first time he’s been denied.

Club owner later apologized to Sven, and noted that he was also denied entry in Berghain when he was in Berlin. Seems like the bouncers may be taking their jobs a little too seriously.

LOOPERS turns the lights out on ‘Everything Goes Black’

loopers

You can always count on LOOPERS to deliver dancefloor gold. An integral part of STMPD RCRDS, he returns to the label for yet another outing this year, following on from September’s intense I’m Heavy.

Gnarly electro bass sounds worm their way through hyped breakbeat rhythms in the intro, with a gruff dancehall style vocal building the intensity. A short, sharp build powers us to the drop where an elasticated electro house groove bends and pumps with dark hoover blasts interspersing.

More phat low end pressure greets us in the next section as the breakbeat rhythm returns and the vocal chops up manically. The dark tension only leaves you more excited for what’s to come. A monster of a dancefloor track, it’s larger-than-life and punches in all the right places.

LOOPERS previously collaborated with the likes of STMPD boss Martin Garrix and Steve Aoki and after a successful Amsterdam Dance Event—where he rocked the massive STMPD RCRDS party—he has been busy back in the studio working on more huge jams.

Tiga & The Martinez Brothers release ‘Blessed EP PT 1’

Tiga

After offering an auditory glimpse of their collaborative EP in the form of first single, ‘Blessed’, Tiga and The Martinez Brothers return with another three tracks. ‘Blessed EP PT 1’ is available now and is comprised of ‘Cleopatra’, ‘Aphex N Girls’, ‘Late Nite’, all of which came to exist after the Canadian artist and American DJ duo forged a fruitful friendship last year.

Tiga was originally meant to produce tracks for the DJ duo, but the sessions soon evolved into a full-fledged collaboration. The three men manned the studio in psychic unison, laying real-time drum programming and minimal storytelling over a techno foundation to create atrulydynamic dynamic. The result is some of the best work of their careers.

“Chris and Steve brought a deep knowledge of house music and DJ energy-flow, while I left my deep hatred of live studio jam sessions at the door,” adds Tiga.

“These tracks are tougher, funkier and weirder than 99.3% of contemporary dance music, and it’s all because we were brave enough to get sincere and real.”

“Blessed is a project that came together through the back stages and parties,” said The Martinez Brothers.

“It’s been labor of love and a pleasure working with Tiga. He’s been one of those artists we’ve always wanted to work with for a long time, and it’s really cool how we’ve built a real friendship over the years. That’s our brother right there. Been listening to his stuff for a long time, and he’s great at making hooks. He was coming up with all these hooks right on the spot in the studio. Everything about us and Tiga just flows.”

Released under Tiga’s imprint, Turbo Recordings, the esteemed producer continues to push the boundaries in the underground electronic music scene as 2018 marks 20 years of Turbo Recordings.

“Blessed” is already in heavy rotation both in the clubs and on the radio by Annie Mac, Danny Howard, Laurent Garnier, The Black Madonna, Busy P, Felix Da Housecat, Huxley, Josh Wink, DJ T + more.

The EP is also available on a picture disc vinyl, designed by Fuji2Apple & PK. Available in all major record shops and on Turbo’s bandcamp, here.

Revellers in Orlando were one of the first to experience the EP live as Tiga’s Turbo 20 tour commenced last week. His tour across the USA takes in legendary venues such as Kings Hall in New York, Spin in San Diego, District in Atlanta, Exchange in Los Angeles and finally back to his home turf, StereoBar in Montreal.

Part II of the collaboration is set for release on The Martinez Brothers’ Cuttin’ Headz label under the name The Martinez Brothers & Tiga, an inspiring nod to the importance of fairness in project credits.

Insomniac EDC Orlando 2018 [Review]

EDC Orlando 2018

This year’s EDC Orlando marked the 8th time the magnificent festival has landed on the grounds outside of CampingWorld Arena, formerly known as Tinker Field. With three massive stages, the Corona Electric Beach, and the fan favorite BoomBox Art Car, this warm-weather wonderland gave attendee’s everything they could possibly dream of.

Over the past weekend, Insomniac Events invaded Tinker Field and saw it’s biggest turn out yet with over 110,000 festival-goers in attendance across two days. The event took place November 9-10 in the sunny and beautiful city of Orlando, Florida. As we all know, Insomniac never fails to deliver their state of the art production and this year saw no difference with three stunning stages, a slew of rides and countless unforgettable experiences.

Each year EDC Las Vegas lends three of it’s stages, the glorious kineticFIELD, circuitGROUNDS and the intimate neonGarden. Along with each stage came amazing VIP viewing sections, private restrooms and bars, kandi making stations and your very own swimming pool at kineticFIELD. It really can’t get much better than that.

EDC Orlando VIP

Day 1 definitely brought the heat, and you could quickly feel that with the excitement and vibes. It seemed like no matter what was happening in the world, for one moment, one weekend, everything was going to be okay.

The lineup up for Friday had the perfect mixture of the old and the new, House music, Trance, and of course Dubstep. Headliners such as Alesso, Bassnectar, Jochen Miller, Martin Garrix, Pendulum and Dillon Francis all shined brighter than ever under the electric sky.

Day 2 had an equally talented lineup if not more. Major standouts were Kaskade, Illenium, Alison Wonderland, Tiesto and the amazing B2B set of Nervo & ALOK. One of our favorite sets was Tiesto, as he was tabbed to play the sunset slot absolutely killed it.

Tiesto @ EDC Orlando 2018

One unfortunate incident was the fire that started during Kayzo‘s set that kind of freaked everyone out. Luckily everything turned out to be just fine and the following set starting right on time.

This year’s lineup had so many talented artists to choose from and we thank Insomniac for that. They really have mastered the art of creating a fully immersive playground for attendee’s that leave us with memories that will truly last a lifetime.

EDC Orlando 2018

We heard Dillon Francis tease a new collaboration, Alison Wonderland‘s new remix of ‘God is a Woman’ and also her cello. Other artists such as George Acosta and Jochen Miller who are the legends of their respective genres seemed to so easily take us back to a more simpler time, it was magnificent. So much happened in just two days, and I cannot wait to see what is new next year in Orlando.
