RÜFÜS DU SOL Releases The Official Music Video for ‘Lost In My Mind’

RÜFÜS DU SOL, one of the world’s preeminent live-electronic bands, has released a music video for their third single, “Lost In My Mind,” off their recently released SOLACE LP on Rose Avenue Records / Reprise Records.

“Lost In My Mind” explores themes of creative isolation that struck the band throughout the making of SOLACE. Similarly, the music video see’s the group taking on these motifs with a metaphorical portrayal of smashing through emotional walls while stuck within the grips of a couch and its classic symbolism of demotivation.

This storyline is set within one of Los Angeles’ industrial warehouse compounds, paralleling the subterranean music scene of which the band frequented between writing sessions on SOLACE.

The video comes alongside the RÜFÜS DU SOL BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix, featuring forthcoming album remixes, unreleased music from their new imprint Rose Avenue Records, and a bevy of deep cuts that influenced SOLACE.

With their family and friends left behind in Australia and the shadowy underbelly of Los Angeles taking hold, RÜFÜS DU SOL turned to sleepless nights in the studio and a looming sense of darkness in the writing process. The result is an album as equally melancholy as it is dance-floor driven, a direction in which “Lost In My Mind” stands at the center.

The voice of lead singer, Tyrone Lindqvist, calls out in dismay on “Lost In My Mind” with a harrowing, yet deliberate message:

“I’ve been walking out all on my own
I’ve been losing sleep while I’m not home
I don’t need my leaders to decide
If I had my choice I’d speak my mind”

The crux of RÜFÜS DU SOL remains the deep connection felt between the band and their dedicated global fan base in the live space. The band recently embarked on the beginning of a world tour in support of SOLACE. Continuing through the end of the year the bands return to Europe began at London’s Printworks, with dates in Birmingham, Glasgow, Manchester, Amsterdam, Paris and beyond.

Swedish House Mafia manager shares how the reunion really happened

swedish house mafia new

Since the inevitable reunion of the legendary EDM trio, Swedish House Mafia, we’ve all wondered how it really happened. In a recent post, a former manager may have spilled the beans.

Former manager Amy Thomson, recently gave us insight on how it all came together. As she explains, Ultra Music Festival co-founder Adam Russakoff, called her early in the morning like he always did. This phone call would turn out to be very different from any of his other calls.

Adam started by saying:

“Come on Amy, It’s Time. Time for the trio to reunite. Time for the world to see their brilliance again. Time to revive our way of life”.

It’s truly crazy to think that one phone orchestrated this entire thing. Ever since their reunion at Ultra Music Festival in Miami back in March, the Swedish House Mafia have been making headlines every other week. The Swedish trio will tour in 2019 so be sure to grab your tickets when you can.

Check out Amy’s post below!

Exactly a year ago today I was walking out my door to my car to the airport to fly to Sweden when @adamrussakoff called me and said come on Amy. It’s Time. And one week later it was agreed. Sat in a room where they had genuinely not seen each other for 5 years. Drinking coffee. 3 months later I was on that stage at 6am in a leather jacket testing lasers didn’t burn the back of them. We never got chance to test the fire would go that high except for one unit, but when it went off and those 3 friends who had not seen each other for 5 years were surrounded by fire which i think is the only photo which shows the booth was made from mirror. Which was symbolic for them and underneath it … it was engraved. (But what did it say 😉) This picture came from that phone call which as always was from Adam too early in the morning 🙂 the fire idea came from a meeting where we all said for fucks sake. Let’s just burn the whole thing when no one could decide what to do. Turns out it was one of my favorite show moments ever. 🔥

Two people shot over demand for tracks, DJ arrested !

police brutality

Three people including a DJ have been arrested for opening fire on two brothers after a fight broke out over music playlist and requests to play a track repeatedly, police said on Monday.

Shanky Bhardwaj, 23 years old and his cousin brother Tushar Bhardwaj, 16 years old insisted Akshay, the DJ, to play the track ‘Tamanche Pe Disco…’ repeatedly, which led to a fight between them, a police officer said.

The DJ later informed his employers, Sanjay Sharma and Ashish Sharma. They came armed and the shooting started. The accused managed to escape and that the victims suffered bullet injuries in their abdomen.

The police team reached the spot and found Shanky and Tushar Bhardwaj lying in a pool of blood, Deputy Commissioner of Police Devender Arya said.

They were taken to a hospital in Dwarka where they are still undergoing treatment.

DJ Akshay and his employers Sanjay, 29, and his brother Ashish, 23, were arrested on Monday from their hideouts in west Delhi in separate police raids.

Electric Forest launches Eco-Tent option, which is actually a $200 Cardboard Box

In corporation with Electricology, the company that allows Electric Forest attendees the opportunity to win prizes by being ecofriendly, Electric Forest has added pre set-up general admission Eco-Tents to its 2019 lineup.

The Eco-Tents are made out of high quality, wood fiber cardboard, and one hundred percent recyclable material. The cardboard is weather resistant, and will hold up to inclement weather for at least the duration of the event.

According to Electric Forest, the Eco-Tents are the Forests most sustainable camping option, and the Neighborhood will be adjacent to tent only camping, close to both Main Street, and the venue entrance. The Eco-Tent option is a solid choice for attendees that carpool, or take a shuttle to the event.

The Eco-Tents are designed to fit two people, with additional room for storage space. They have 3.3-meter square foot floor plans, and a small window included. The cost to utilize them is two hundred dollars for the duration of the event, and is an add-on to general admission ticket pricing.

This is a critical time for humans to take sustainable action, and to embrace an ecofriendly lifestyle. Both Electric Forest, and Electricology recognize this, and are taking giant leaps for the cause. Electricology operates an incredible program at the Forest that gives the attendees an opportunity to lend a helping hand, while cashing in for their good deeds.

The Recycle, Earn, Redeem program lets attendees bring campsite recycling and trash to the neighborhood Ecozone, and earn EcoPoints for green deeds. They also run contests throughout the event giving attendees additional opportunities to walk away with some swag. The points are used to cash in at Electricology Stores. Attendees that earn the most EcoPoints could win a once in a lifetime Good Life VIP experience for 2019.

Support this noble cause by participating in the ecofriendly programs, and by securing a spot in the 2019 Eco-Tent Neighborhood at Electric Forest.

50 Cent and Above & Beyond win the internet with this Twitter battle! [VIDEOS]

50 cent

A few un-expecting videos recently were seen online and they’re pretty funny. What makes the whole thing even more random, are the celebrities involved.

World’s famous rapper and actor, Curtis Jackson more famously known as 50 Cent, recently posted to his Twitter account showing off a brand new Maybach. In the video you see him hilariously put on track from Above and Beyond while cruising in his car.

Seems like Above and Beyond quickly heard about 50 Cent’s tweet and released of a video of their own. If you haven’t seen it check it out below, I think Above and Beyond won the dance battle.

W&W and Armin van Buuren are ‘Ready To Rave’ with huge new collaboration!

W&W x Armin van Buuren

After dropping title track ‘Rave Culture’ as the very first release of their new label (Rave Culture), W&W have lined up a massive collaboration as its banging follow-up.

Their next single, ‘Ready To Rave’, sees the current #14 DJs in the world link up with none other than five-time #1 DJ in the world Armin van Buuren, who recognized the duo’s potential at an early stage and got them to join Amsterdam-based record label Armada Music a whopping ten years back.

Released in the wake of other smashing collaborations such as ‘If It Ain’t Dutch’ and ‘#D Fat’, W&W and Armin van Buuren‘s ‘Ready To Rave’ is yet another monster tune bound to crack main stages in half.

Judging by its enormous impact and infectious hooks, it’s no wonder this track has been conquering major festivals across the globe all throughout this year’s summer.

Observant fans may have already seen this collaboration coming. At the end of the music video of W&W’s ‘Rave Culture, Armin van Buuren already played a small cameo role, which hinted toward a possible collaboration between the two globally acclaimed dance music acts in the near future. That moment has arrived today, accompanied by a music video bearing the same futuristic design as its predecessor.

Here’s what they had to say about their new collaboration:

Armin van Buuren:

“It’s been such a pleasure to see W&W turn from two young, talented boys into one of the most successful dance music duos of our time. Each time we decide to collaborate, we hit it off instantly and get some amazing results in the studio, just like we did now with ‘Ready To Rave’. This track is definitely meant to get people to go nuts and rave relentlessly wherever in the world they are, so I hope everyone likes what we came up with this time.”

W&W:

“When the idea of starting our Rave Culture label crossed our minds, we knew we wanted to center it around records that could really drive a crowd crazy. ‘Ready To Rave’ fits that bill completely, and it’s always nice to hit the studio with someone who has released many of these tunes. It’s been one of the biggest tracks from our live sets this summer, so we’re having high hopes for this one.”

DJ Koze

Unconventional and perhaps even a little eccentric, Stefan Kozalla occupies the leftfield sphere of house music. Adulated for his off-kilter, spontaneous DJ sets, we experienced his prowess first-hand at J2 in year two. 2018 might have been the biggest of his career to date, starting with the release of Knock, Knock.

In Pick Up, he is arguably responsible for creating the track of the summer – played everywhere, right across the spectrum, from underground clubs to festival stages to commercial radio. A certificate alfresco, feel-good anthem.

But it was no anomaly – Koze possesses the midas touch when it comes to producing hit records: XTC, Seeing Aliens, Operator. All eyes now fall on Koze to see if he can replicate this year’s success in 2019, and Boston Manor Park seems like the ideal locale for the free-spirited Pampa boss to take everyone willingly off-piste.

TICKETS FOR FRIDAY WILL INCREASE IN PRICE THIS WEEK Link.

Thomas Gold teaming up with Graham Candy for new track ‘Real Love’

Thomas Gold

Off the back of recent hits such as ‘Begin Again’ and ‘Orinoco’ (feat. Corey James), Thomas Gold returns to Armada Music with ‘Real Love’, a single that blends the best of pop and dance into a delicious crossover cut meant for greatness.

Introducing New Zealand-born, Germany-based singer-songwriter Graham Candy on vocals, ‘Real Love’ builds on Thomas Gold‘s knack for creating intoxicating tracks and emerges as a perfect, light-hearted love anthem sure to strike a chord in fans from all over the world.

“I had heard a lot about Graham Candy and I knew that he is based in the same city as me, Berlin in Germany. When we were looking for new songs back in summer this year, I received a rough demo of ‘Real Love’ from Graham and I instantly thought – this HAS to be the next Thomas Gold single!

So I started working on the production and went back and forth with Graham and his team for some tweaks, after which we got to the final version pretty quickly. I love the vibe of his voice and I wanted to go for a bit of a crossover sound with a bit of a housey vibe and there we are! Graham and I are both really excited for this one to come out!”, Thomas Gold says.
