One of the first artists for Excision’s much anticipated festival has finally been revelaed. Aside from Excison himself, the next guest is practically a no-brainer.
We are pleased to announce that Destroid will be taking the stage. If you’re a real bass head, than you’ll know that Destroid consists of Excision, Downlink, and Pendulum‘s drummer KJ Sawka.
What’s a better way to announce this miracle than a cave painting across all social media platforms? Since KJ and Downlink will most definitely be making an appearance, is it safe to say that they will also be delivering their own individual sets? It’ll only take the waiting game to figure that answer out.
Excision’s Festival
As the dates for the festival were also released on cave paintings, this event is just around the corner. The dubstep prodigies will performing over the weekend of September 29-October 1 at an unknown location. We can’t wait to find out where it’ll be. See ya there!
Insomniac’s EDC – Electric Daisy Carnival, Las Vegas is right around the corner, and it seems to be making everyone giddy with excitement! Only less than a month away, soon the people under the electric sky will experience unbelievable performances by pioneer DJs from across the globe.
It’s that time of the year for spoiler pictures of the brand new EDC Las Vegas Kinetic Gaia main stage designs to come out, and one of the first people to share such an image is Insomniac’s boss Pasquale Rotella. He posted to his personal Instagram profile a picture of an open palm. It’s description stated:
“Quick view into more of the EDC Las Vegas #kineticGAIA stage build…I think Mother Earth will be making a very LARGE impression this year.” #openpalm #positiveenergy

Last week, Diplo released his latest hit, ‘Bankroll’, a single featuring Justin Bieber, Young Thug, and Rich the Kid but surprisingly, his fans didn’t give it the best feedback.
Collaborating with such established and well-known artists, one would think the track would be nothing short from amazing, but Twitter users clearly had a different opinion in mind. After receiving an unenthusiastic response, the 38-year-old DJ and record producer, later removed the track from his SoundCloud page just days after its May 11th release.
Although it is unclear if the disappearance has anything to do with the backlash of negativity, we can definitely be sure Diplo wasn’t in the mood for the criticism.
Hopefully the DJ is taking the track back to the studio because we all know what he’s capable of. Good luck to ya, Diplo and better luck next time.
This unlikely duo is set to have their movie premiere at the LA Film Festival on June 15th of this year. With other major artists such as Steve Aoki and Armin van Buuren already with their own documentaries, Martin Garrix and Carl Cox thought it was time to create something special themselves.
The film is titled ‘What We Started‘ and is supposed to highlight the many changes in the Electronic Dance Music world from it’s underground stage in the 1980’s to the genres worldwide popularity of today.
The movie sets out with two main goals, firstly to show appreciation to the genres dedicated fans who have supported the movement from day one, not only in the club scene but also on the streets. Secondly is to touch on the development of the genre and where the mainstream has taken it.
“The goal for us is to tell a story that is all-encompassing, dynamic, unexpected and certainly quite entertaining,”Bert Marcus tells Billboard. “I believe this is a misunderstood genre with a rich and robust 30-year history and we felt it needed to be shared properly with the world.”
The film does that by “weaving through the dichotomous stories” of dance music’s underground beginnings to its present-day commercial success as EDM. Adds Marcus of Cox and Garrix: “It was important for us to choose two characters that fully represent the birth of the music and the present of the industry. They were extremely enlightening and gave us unprecedented access.”
Though Carl Cox and Martin Garrix are the “two leads,” in this movie, Marcus notes, they are joined by a who’s who of dance music stars, including Moby, Paul Oakenfold, David Guetta, Steve Angello and Richie Hawtin, as well as well-known collaborators Usher and Ed Sheeran.
If your a fan of EDM or have been in the past, be sure to check it out !

A KILLER batch of cocaine is being sold on the streets, and it is four times more powerful than the average batch of cocaine in London.
A strong batch of heroin and cocaine circulating in Eastbourne is being blamed for two drug-related deaths in recent weeks and a number of overdoses. In a couple of cases the cocaine found to have been taken was nearly 100% pure.
A recent study by Vice revealed that cocaine in the capital was usually around 25% pure.
Detective Inspector Neil Ralph said, “Taking drugs in any form is dangerous, particularly when the user does not know the purity of the drug.
“We investigate all drug overdoses and drug-related deaths and look to identify who has supplied the drugs and seek a prosecution. This can be difficult at times because it is often the case the only person who knows the source of the drug is deceased” he added.
The only way to be safe is to not do drugs at all. But, if you must, educate yourself on potency levels and be careful out there !

Since its release, the timeless piano melody has brought joy to dance floors around the world and continues to be played out to this day. After the release of his debut platinum album ‘Dreamland’ in 1996 – which is beginning to chart again at no9 in the album charts – Robert retreated from the spotlight, but continued to release a string of albums, include 1997’s 23am, 2001’s Organik and Miles_Gurtu in 2004. He was also known for launching OpenLab, a Balearic radio station broadcast from Ibiza covering arts, media and technology.
