Electronic Music Conference – EMC Celebrates A “Decade Of Dance” With Historic 10th Anniversary Event

Asia Pacific’s leading electronic and dance music industry event, Electronic Music Conference (EMC) is set to return in November to celebrate its monumental 10th Anniversary edition. Under the theme of ‘Decade Of Dance: 2012 – 2022’ they are set to showcase a host of interactive workshops, conversations and bespoke events that aim to collectively unite the Australian music scene and local community.

The conference promises to highlight both national and international talent, bridging the gap between local and global brands. It will combine the pinnacle EMC10 Festival, which will run from November 25th until December 15th, in conjunction with the EMC10 Conference taking place on November 30th at the Powerhouse Museum in Ultimo, Sydney.

With a mission to connect, educate, inspire, and diversify Australia’s thriving electronic music scene, the 10-year anniversary of EMC provides an opportunity to not only reflect on the highlights and challenges of the past decade, but to actively look toward the future as industry members continue to converge to celebrate and bolster its renaissance after a two-year, pandemic-enforced hiatus.

EMC 2022 lineup

At the beginning of the pivotal 22/23 Summer season, which will see Sydney’s nightlife move forward from the restrictions of lock-outs and lockdowns, EMC is set to welcome back international visitors to join what will be a prominent and pivotal celebration of electronic and dance music.

EMC Director, Jane Slingo said: “Reflecting on EMC 2012 – 2022, there have certainly been storms to weather. But I am grateful for many things. The abundance of learnings. The many wonderful people from Australia and the world who have generously shared their knowledge, their experience and their challenges for the benefit of others at EMC. EMC’s supporters who got our vision and backed us over these years.”

“Most of all, the opportunity to have collaborated with so many brilliant people this past decade – wildly talented artists and their courageous teams, inspiring community and industry leaders, those that share the stories about the culture and the people – the writers, marketers and publicists. I’m humble about this milestone, but also really looking forward to celebrating it with EMC’s friends and peers, new and old, at EMC10.”

The 10th anniversary edition of EMC will see an increased festival footprint, stretching across multiple local government areas that include Sydney CBD, Inner West, Western Sydney and Northern Beaches, as well as regional touch points.

There will be a unique mix of interactive events and experiences reflecting the convergence of music, tech, fashion and dance. These topics will be built into a program centered on a suite of content covering the climate emergency; tech; justice, equity and diversity; and professional development. The full program is set to be announced in October.

With an expanded capacity of up to 510 delegates, the EMC10 conference is offering an invaluable chance for attendees to network, enjoy themselves, and discuss emerging trends and continued challenges within the Australian and international electronic music scenes. This is recognized as an opportunity to showcase and discover emerging talent, and to join forces on the mission to diversify and encourage equality throughout the broader industry. The team behind EMC has worked to champion inclusivity by promoting a wide variety of talent from different cultures, genders and sexual orientation.

Activities will incorporate EMC10 Conference, EMC10 Festival, Emerging Artists Showcase, EMC10 Films Program and a special anniversary closing event, all anticipated to attract thousands of revellers and ardent electronic music fans for the 10th anniversary.

EMC10 is supported by the NSW Government through Create NSW, City of Sydney, Australia Council for the Arts, Roland, Moshtix and Muzeek.

Nicolas Molina and Stachy.DJ present “The Sound of Twin Town: Tribute Mix Pt. I”

As a tribute to the 20th anniversary of the music label Twin Town Production, Nicolas Molina and Stachy.DJ presented “The Sound of Twin Town: Tribute Mix Pt. I”, a personal selection of remastered music from the catalog of the first decade.

An eclectic mix of Soulful House, Chillout, D&B, Acid Jazz, IDM, Dubstep and Breaks takes the listener on a journey through time to the musical roots of the label until the dawn of the second era of digital mania.

Now, this compilation package offers home listeners and DJs all the remastered tracks of the DJ-Mix in full length on vinyl.

And the artwork is also extraordinary: The whole package tells the story of a time travel through the first decade of label culture paired with the impacts of historical events: Time and space, up and downs, back and forth, solitary and together.

Twin Town is “the city where the sickest music is played that you’ve never heard before because you’re always looking for …“. With this continuous motif, the vinyls are combined into a collection.

Hosh returns with melodic house anthem ‘Song To The Siren’

HOSH

Set to follow in the success of dance hit Midnight (The Hanging Tree) feat. Jalja with 1979, HOSH returns with 80s influenced enchantment “Song To The Siren” via Three Six Zero.

Already supported by industry trailblazer Pete Tong, who has been spinning the new single in club sets, HOSH has interpreted Tim Buckley‘s Song to the Siren (later covered and released by This Mortal Coil in 1983), into a completely fresh slice of melodic house heaven whilst capturing the delicate writing and vocals of the originals.

Set to revive and pay homage to the original for a new generation, HOSH shares his connection to the track, “Song To The Siren‘ is a song for the ages.

Delicate in the hands of its original writer Tim Buckley, otherworldly in the hands of its most storied cover by This Mortal Coil. Always emotional, melancholic, beautiful. Like the lyrical Siren it has always spoken to me and I felt that it could really be meaningful once more given a melodic electronic reworking.”

Demonstrating his broad and intricate sonic palette, HOSH‘s dedication to music has seen him become a true tastemaker on the scene for over a decade. Gifted with a fascinating musical mind, the Ibiza based, German producer has scored numerous hits and label signings over the years since his early membership to Diynamic with Solomun and Stimming, providing the perfect catalyst for his production to reach new levels.

Building up to his biggest track to date, HOSH landed Midnight (The Hanging Tree) feat. Jalja with 1979 in 2020 that collected over 59M streams, BBC Radio 1 daytime playlisting whilst announced as the no.4 most played track on the station. The new single also follows last year’s Tighter which includes a remix from CamelPhat that surpassed 2M streams.

With 10 years of touring also under his belt including residencies across Europe, HOSH is a natural performer, attracting crowds globally. This summer has seen him road test the new single at the likes of Sound Stage Dubai, Ku De Ta Bali, Hi Ibiza alongside Vintage Culture and Fisher as well as Ushuaia and more. A key leader driving the melodic sound forward, his success and experience has also seen HOSH head his own Fryhide label which takes pride in quality music capturing transient emotions and sculpting them for dance floors, home to releases from the likes of ARTBAT, Tone Depth, Crooked Colours, Fabrication, Pig & Dan and others.

Cementing his credibility once more, HOSH is destined to mesmerize listeners with new single Song To The Siren. Capturing the spine-tingling, emotive and melancholic essence of the originals, HOSH transforms the timeless classic into an anthem for the dancefloor. Pairing climatic breakdowns and amplifying the vocal’s haunting textures, the hypnotic hook is set to captivate crowds globally.

Rakastella announces 2022 return to Art Basel with a stellar lineup!

Life and Death and Innervisions’s collaborative party Rakastella is back with another diverse and eclectic musical offering in the historic and picturesque Virginia Key Beach Park, Miami on Saturday December 3rd, 2022.

This passion-filled gathering features three tastefully eclectic stages covering a wide spectrum of international electronic sound headlined by AceMoMA, Dixon, TSHA, DJ Boring, DJ Tennis b2b Seth Troxler, Sofia Kourtesis, Moodymann, Jennifer Cardini, Or:la, Trikk, Ashley Venom, Will Renuart, Coffintexts, Powder, Quest, Yu Su and a very special guest.

Four previous editions of Rakastella have established it on the world stage as a leader in eco-friendly musical experiences. It is a mindfully curated, 15+ hour party that unites a thoughtful lineup of artists with diverse backgrounds.

Rakastella 2022

This year, once again, that diversity as well as the need to make the whole festival a safe space that is welcoming to one and all is in sharp focus. This year, Rakastella will abandon VIP tickets so that all dancers are equal as one on the dance floor thus bringing back the original community-minded spirit of early dance music culture.

Stage hosts this year include the free-thinking and inclusive clubbing collective HE.SHE.THEY. It is a record label, fashion brand and event series for people of all races, genders and sexualities with a cutting-edge house and techno soundtrack. Also hosting will be Where Are My Keys?, a Miami born, boutique underground brand that hosts unique international events with world class sounds.

Have you ever experienced a Rakastella sunrise soundtracked by Dixon b2b Âme? You won’t want to miss this unforgettable moment this year. The whole party often feels like it is building towards this magical moment- as the grooves build and atmospheres evolve, the sun appears and a big wave of energy washes over the crowd to uniting them together.

One of the reasons Rakastella is so special is the location itself – Virginia Key Beach boasts scenic beaches and sweeping views of the bay which make for a unique backdrop. Next to the area’s raw natural beauty, environmental art will also be nestled amongst the tropical shaded groves that border the sea.

You can look forward to extended set times this year so that artists have the chance to really settle in and go deep into their sound. Headliners include AceMo and MoMA aka AceMoMA, whose futuristic blend of techno, footwork, and jungle has made them modern day heroes.

There will also be deeply emotive house from Dixon, visceral techno from TSHA, a mix of everything from Chicago house to Detroit techno through to trance and funk from DJ Boring, a special coming together of two greats with DJ Tennis b2b Seth Troxler, leftfield house from Peruvian producer, vocalist and DJ Sofia Kourtesis, a masterclass from unique Detroit legend Moodymann, electro from Jennifer Cardini, high energy selections from Or:la, Innervisions artist and incubator of underground movements Trikk, Haitian American DJ and activist Ashley Venom, Electric Pickle’s Will Renuart, 140 bpm expert Coffintexts and Japan’s deep house innovator Powder, plus revered selector Quest and Technicolour’s adventurous sound artist Yu Su.

Rakastella has worked hard this year to bring you an improved experience. Just a few of the ways they have done this include an increased number of washrooms which will be continuously staffed for cleanliness, water refill stations to keep you hydrated as well as bars that, after 3 am by law, will have a curated virgin cocktail list, pressed juices, and fresh options that will allow you to go late but feel good. Add in an ever-richer array of local food and you have all the fuel you need to last until that transcending sunrise moment.

Rakastella is an all-new kind of musical experience that nourishes the mind, body and soul. Make sure you are a part of the community by getting your ticket now at the link.

Tomorrowland present the second chapter of their unique collaboration and present the new away kit for the Belgian Red Devils

With excitement for the FIFA World Cup 2022 building, Adidas, the Royal Belgian Football Association (RBFA) and Tomorrowland festival proudly present the second chapter of their unique collaboration and present the new away kit for the Belgian Red Devils. With the kit, the Belgian Red Devils and partners involved intend to make a positive, fun statement of LOVE in times of turmoil.

Respecting a long history of Belgian away kits, the foundation of the kit is white. Like in chapter 1 with the football inspired festival collection, the festival inspired football kit features LOVE sign-off and a bold graphic print.

The graphic print is inspired by Tomorrowland‘s famous fireworks, and features as symbol for mutual values on diversity, equality, and inclusivity. The Belgian Red Devils will debut the kit on September 25, in the UEFA Nations League match against The Netherlands.

Belgium Tomorrowland jersey

Design details

The bold graphic print is not only on the collar, sleeves, sides and trim of the jersey and shorts but is even used boldly throughout the adidas logo and federation crest, fitting the positive statement of LOVE. Even the players name and numbers, or print of choice, are available in the bold graphic print, for those that want to truly stand-out whilst donning their jersey.

For the first time, the product offering for the Belgian Red Devils includes authentic match wear – as worn by the team – as well as replica match wear. Both feature a premium 3D silicone version of the federation crest. For authentic match wear, the devil is in the details, with rich fabrics, elevated and multi-colored three stripes, woven sleeves, and slightly different graphic print on each product, making each product unique. On the authentic jersey, the LOVE sign-off is featured as neck detail in the inner neck of the jersey.

On the replica jersey, it is featured on the outside of the jersey. LOVE, with the Tomorrowland logo as letter O, is a subtle prompt to remind all to celebrate life and each other more. For the Belgian Red Devils, primary shorts and socks are white, with purple shorts and socks available as alternative. The shorts are also available in the bold graphic print, but only for the biggest fans, as they are too bold to be compliant with regulations of the governing bodies. The kit seen on the Belgian Red Devils will feature purple player names and numbers.

Availability
The new away kit is available on adidas.com, shop.rbfa.be, store.tomorrowland.com, and through selected adidas stores and retailers, from September 23 onwards.

Come together and feel the LOVE!

Enrico Sangiuliano unveils his highly-anticipated “Sound Of Space” EP

Enrico Sangiuliano

One of the circuit’s most impressive and well respected producers, Enrico Sangiuliuano, has been dominating the charts once again with the launch of his transient record label NINETOZERO.

Resuming #1 placements across Beatport’s charts with the imprint’s first opus, the “Silence” EP, the Italian native now unveils NINETOZERO‘s highly-anticipated second release, “Sound Of Space“. The 2-tracker is out now across all streaming platforms and marks #8 in the label’s countdown of releases.

Continuing the label’s strong undercurrent of evanescence, Sangiuliano‘s second chapter explores the effects of space and physical surroundings on our experience of music. A subconscious yet vital component in the way in which we consume sounds, the environment serves as an interactive field that alters the impression on our senses. Demonstrating this concept first hand, the 2-track EP is also available in spatial audio, giving listeners a 360-degree infiltration of sound.

The extended-player opens with its tried and tested, peak-time worthy title track. Serving as one of the most hotly-tipped Track IDs of the summer, “The Sound Of Space” became a cardinal cut across the festival circuit. The impactful production is characterized by its masterfully constructed melodic sequences; a staple feature in many of the sound designers compositions. Wholly driving and enveloped in rapture, “The Sound Of Space” is a momentous slice of technical mastery that showcases Enrico‘s aptitude for ingeniously layered synth patterns.

As its name suggests, “Spatial Perception“, is another refined conceptual study into the affinity between sound and space. Feeding us with a heady, cinematic masterpiece, Enrico‘s b-side is further proof of his resolute commitment to originality and progression. Representing a new dimension of scope for his output, the EP’s second offering baits the listener with its free-flowing format and reflective soundscapes. Eliminating all predictability, the cut soon morphs into a thought-provoking, down-tempo gem with subliminal break-beat textures; proving once again why Enrico stands as one of the most exciting visionaries in the scape.

To celebrate this next chapter, Sangiuliano continues his accompanying SOLO event series with Enrico Sangiuliano Presents NINETOZERO SOLO #8, which will take place at the iconic Kompass Klub in Ghent, Belgium on October 1st. Providing audiences with the ideology of 90s club culture, Enrico‘s SOLO initiative allows him to perform with unbridled creativity and extend the label’s narrative and ethos into an immersive live experience.
