Lee Burridge announces first-ever All Day I Dream Festival in California

All Day I Dream

Over the past decade Lee Burridge’s All Day I Dream has captured the imagination and hearts of music lovers everywhere, offering magical daytime experiences that focus on the community as much as the music. In 2022 the consummate emotive party takes it to the next level with its first-ever weekend long camping event. On May 12-15 The All Day I Dream Festival arrives in the lush surrounds of California’s Woodward Reservoir in Oakdale, California.

The warm and welcoming culture All Day I Dream has consciously fostered across its broad community of fans invites them to be as much part of the event’s vibe as the music itself. Furthering this, the festival’s ambitions offer the opportunity for attendees to experience positivity, happiness and a sense of well being at every turn, from musical performance to culinary delights, art installations, as well as yoga, breathwork, and meditation.

Woodward Reservoir’s serene natural landscape presents the perfect backdrop to a weekend filled with love and creativity. Wander, explore, smile, dance and mingle with an amazing array of beautiful and kindhearted dreamers.

With the musical soundtrack for the weekend concentrating on an emotive, melodic driven vibe it brings together not only the All Day I Dream label’s diverse roster of global artists but, for the first time, invites headlining bands from the alternative electronic space who fall into the “feels” category. The festival line up promises a weekend of musical bliss whichever stage you visit.

All Day I Dream returned in 2021 with a globe-spanning, dance floor rocking, summer tour. It reprised its Mykonos and Ibiza residencies as well as sell out events in New York, London, Chicago, Los Angeles, Denver, and San Francisco.

The label also had it’s most successful year to date with established artists such Lee Burridge, Sébastien Léger, Amonita, Fulltone, Lost Desert, and Tim Green releasing new singles that all hit the number one spot on beatport (organic house) chart as well as albums from Gorje Hewek, Pippi Ciez and Powel soundtracking Summer across the world. It’s current release from newcomer Dim Kelly is currently crushing the Organic house top 100.

The All Day I Dream festival invites longtime ‘dreamers’ and new faces alike to gather together next May and make new friends, fall in love, dance until dawn and dream up all kinds of fabulous fun together.

Husko unveils his brand new track “Feel the Heat”

If you can’t stand the heat, get out of the kitchen – but if you’re fly enough to ‘Feel The Heat’, you’ve got a hot one on your hands.

Husko hits a summer house home run slash disco slam dunk, opening with a punkish bassline and then introducing a killer double act that cements the track’s status as absolutely boogiesome. Diva wisdom on vocals – keeping matters pushin’ on but never a pushover – and a gloriously glam Rhodes groove stuffed on soul food, get Husko’s beats cooking, the results earning chef’s kisses all round.

A conqueror of the local scene and now with global gains stacking up nicely, including hundreds of thousands of Spotify streams, Maltese producer Husko has worked his way into the record boxes and onto the hard drives of Amine Edge and DANCE, Dennis Sulta and Annie Mac, who gave strong backing to Husko’s ‘One Night Stand’ on her weekend-starting BBC Radio 1 show.

Husko’s hold on house has seen him open live for the likes of Patrick Topping, Mark Knight and Mella Dee, and serve up club essentials for Toolroom Records, Glasgow Underground and CUFF.

Earlier this year Husko released ‘Love Can’ on Be Yourself Music, a pure piece of uplifting house showing his commitment to keeping core dance music values alive. Such attention to the groove means Malta’s main man is guaranteed a warm reception wherever he goes.

RÜFÜS DU SOL released their fourth full length studio album ‘Surrender’

Grammy-nominated live-electronic trio RÜFÜS DU SOL released their fourth full length studio album Surrender on Rose Avenue and Reprise / Warner Records.

Surrender represents a new chapter in the world that the band has been shaping and nurturing since their inception. Built on their own terms as they travel down their own distinct sonic lane, they expertly bridge the gap between their electronic roots and prowess as live musicians. The record demonstrates a bolder and braver sound than they’ve created in the past, a result of a culmination of influences from Trent Reznor and Nine Inch Nails to Moderat and Jon Hopkins.

Previously released singles from Surrender have already racked up almost 50 million combined streams across platforms, illustrating the excessive demand for the band’s return and anticipation for the full record.

From the yearning for love and romance in Surrender‘s opening track ‘Next To Me‘, to the hopeful emotions portrayed in ‘Alive‘, and anguished sense of ‘On My Knees‘; the album once again demonstrates RÜFÜS DU SOL‘s ability to separate themselves from other stadium selling live artists, writing songs that consistently enthrall the individual just as successfully as a crowd of thousands.

RÜFÜS DU SOL Surrender

The record also sees RÜFÜS experiment with collaboration for the first time, welcoming Curtis Harding to the fold on the album’s title track as well as an LA based children’s choir on both the title track and ‘Make It Happen‘. It is this depth of field that results in something that feels more human and heartfelt than ever before.

The accompanying music video for ‘I Don’t Wanna Leave‘ was filmed in Lancaster/Palmdale, CA and directed by the band’s creative director, AlexKatzkiGeorge. The performance piece bears resemblance to RÜFÜS DU SOL‘s striking live performance, and is set against an industrial backdrop of power lines that litter the horizon of the Mojave desert.

Prior music videos released alongside their album singles continued to expand the visualization of the RÜFÜS DU SOL universe, thanks to unique interpretations from acclaimed directors and production companies. Most recently, the band’s creative director, AlexKatzkiGeorge, collaborated with Ruff Mercy, an animation director and artist based out in the UK to create visuals/animations on top of the video, giving the ‘On My Knees‘ project a darker 90’s rave vibe.

Alive‘ saw director James Frost and entertainment company EPIC Games blur the line between reality and make-believe by utilizing EPIC‘s Unreal Engine, the world’s most open and advanced real-time 3D creation tool. Lastly, RÜFÜS DU SOL tapped futuristic directors Osk to create A.I.-generated topographies and immerse viewers into new complex landscapes in their video for ‘Next To Me‘.

The album arrives in the run up to a whirlwind touring and festival season for the band, which has already seen them perform parts of the new project on world renowned stages such as Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Austin City Limits, and Governors Ball. With festival stints at III Points Miami and Outside Lands San Francisco still to come, Surrender gives RÜFÜS DU SOL fans a unique opportunity to accompany them into their world.

Their North American tour kicks off in November, hitting cities across the south west of the country. A major highlight of their touring schedule rests at the Los Angeles Banc of California stadium, where for three consecutive nights, 70,000 fans will come to see them perform. Two additional nights had to be added to keep up with demand, making this the band’s largest LA performance to date.

Surrender marks a huge milestone for Tyrone, Jon George and James. Not only is it a record that can effortlessly thrive on a dark and brooding dance floor, but it flourishes just as impressively in a stadium of 25,000 people. Surrender is a message of personal maturity and of a deep connection to their community, as RÜFÜS DU SOL find themselves comfortably expressing their personal pains and heartaches for all to bear witness. This mutual reassurance between artist and audience is what continues to set RÜFÜS DU SOL apart, as everyone unites to understand themselves and explore the otherworldly, together.

Uniting two of the Brit’s trademarks – standout synth work and his expressive style while blending his inventive productions with sultry vocals – the UK dance music phenomenon is ready for a new step forward in his musical journey that will once again crown him as one of the greatest British talents today.

The Pattern EP‘ is made up of 6 tracks, starting with the hypnotic & intoxicating ‘Catharsis‘ and the gritty & bouncy ‘Echo‘. Finishing off with the sexy, groovy & tribal housey ‘Show‘, Curbi delivers another angelic club-ready weapon of epic proportions tailor-made for the dancefloor.

Curbi: “I think this EP is pretty different and I’m very happy with it – to grow for myself and develop as an artist and producer and to be comfortable with putting out something a little bit different. Trying to be versatile, I really wanted to do something a bit more different in a way. It’s good for me to do this and for other people to see as well what else I can do.

Armin van Buuren and Vini Vici build on earlier success with third collab: ‘Yama’ ft. Tribal Dance & Natalie Wamba

It has been a few years since the global success of ‘Great Spirit’ (well over a hundred million streams on Spotify) and ‘United’ (over 40 million Spotify streams), but Armin van Buuren and Vini Vici haven’t lost any of the momentum since.

Both acts have been turning heads with a myriad of dance floor bangers and high-profile collabs, and they now raise the bar even higher with an incredible artwork design, a music video shot during the A State Of Trance ADE event at AFAS Live, and of course a super-energetic record designed to blast sound systems to bits: ‘Yama‘ (feat. Tribal Dance & Natalie Wamba).

Featuring the uplifting vocal chants of Tribal Dance and Natalie Wamba, ‘Yama‘ instantly makes its mark as a ground-shaking collision of Armin van Buuren and Vini Vici‘s globally renowned signature sounds. From the uplifting and openhearted intro to the inevitably colossal beat drop, this track is sure to cause some serious dance floor damage with every play.

Armin van Buuren: “I had a blast working with Vini Vici on ‘Great Spirit’ and ‘United’ back in 2016 and 2018, and although a few years had passed since, I always felt that it’d be great to do a third collab. So we all jumped at the opportunity when it finally arose and ‘Yama’ is the outcome. Our trademark sounds are especially compatible and I’m positive ‘Yama’ will be ruling dance floors for a long time to come.

Vini Vici: “Dropping this tune b2b with Armin van Buuren during last week’s ASOT event was an amazing experience, and we’re super excited about our third collaboration! It took us a while to produce this song and we did it during the crux of the pandemic. Needless to say, it took a lot of hard work to get this final result.

Exclusive Interview with DJ and Producer Matchy

What inspired you while producing your latest joints on Beyond Now and KATERMUKKE?

Let’s be honest: Although thanks to Corona (and as a consequence closed clubs and no gigs all over the world) there was more time to produce new music, it has been a very difficult time – even when it comes to producing new music.

Personally I draw a lot of energy for the studio from clubbing, the crowd’s vibe on the dance floor and I was certainly missing this during the lockdown months in order to be creative. But after an initially less productive phase, I also had a very good phase in autumn and discovered for myself that I actually enjoy collaborations with singers and producing tracks that I like to hear at home too rather than “just” pure club tracks.

What boosts your creativity in music?

There are many things. Often it is the great experience that you have gained over the weekend. These experiences and memories give you the strength to go back to the studio with full energy during the week.

But also many small impressions from everyday life can be used and translated directly into track elements. That can be a conversation that might lead to the topic of a track or simply some street noises in the right pitch or even the hum of a fly in the right rhythm.

What challenges do you currently face as an artist but also as a label owner?

At the moment mainly how to get both sorted and bring everything under one roof.

Even though I would like to start a new track project every day because my head is filled with creativity, a good track takes time, revision and again fine-tuning.

Often I don’t come home before Monday after a long weekend and usually need a day off to recover. With administrative work that I have to do as well, that often leaves it to one or two days I can spend in the studio during the week.

The same goes for the label: Sure, I would like to release even more music on the label than at the moment but quality comes first and the label is just as good as its team – I can’t do everything by myself. Beyond Now is structured like a family business. But with your family of choice, great artists and friends – creating an environment where you feel comfortable.

You travel internationally and play in clubs and festivals all over the world. What do you always have with you to pass the time on the plane?

I usually check out Netflix the night before I fly and download a couple of movies so that they are available offline and I can watch them during the flight. It is important to get a clear head and to rest, because the travel from gig to another is often tightly scheduled and therefore quite exhausting. Nevertheless, sometimes I try to work on new tracks – for example if I already did a great part of the production in the studio I can work on the arrangement simply with my laptop. But that actually works better on a train ride rather than on a plane.

What fascinates you most about the scene?

The scene never stands still, something is always happening: New countries, where electronic music is booming, new trends and styles occur constantly. It’s all about emotions and smiling faces – no matter what, who or where – people strive for freedom and enjoyment, escaping reality at least for a bit. Electronic music and our scene provide exactly this opportunity.

I just love being able to do exactly what I like and our scene is one of the few that gives you the freedom to do so. Thanks to my label Beyond Now, I don’t have to follow style guidelines from any label. I can make exactly the music that I simply feel like doing and that comes from my heart.

And where do you get the energy for your high-quality output, which repeatedly makes it to the top of Beatport and to countless plays on Spotify?

I learned to be more patient and that good productions need some time, even if it’s a “simpler club track”. Nowadays I test and adjust tracks multiple times before they are ready for release. Only when I’m 100% satisfied and the track works on the dance floors as desired, it’s scheduled for release.

Usually every couple of weeks I lock myself in the studio for a couple of days and solely work on new track ideas from morning till late. By focusing all my energy only on music during that time, I often get around 5 strong ideas, which I will then work on and finalize during the next weeks. Ah yeah.. and taking some naps here and there, helps too haha.

What’s going on with “Matchy” in the coming weeks and months?

It’s more than great to be back on tour and the festival summer isn’t over yet. It just moved to warmer countries like Africa, India or South America. But I’m also looking forward to the club season that will start in Europe soon. For example I can’t wait to play in Ukraine for the first time in October and the club reopening in Germany will be huge for sure!

Furthermore I have a lot of new tracks in the pipeline, which will see the light soon. So stay tuned!

Marco V goes into battle with the ‘Be/At’ on latest supercharged Vision 20/20 track

Marco V has been in scintillating form all year and shows no signs of letting up, breaking down rough-edged trance to the very last ‘BE/AT’. Those with front row seats need to hold on tight as the veteran runs a gauntlet of dark eruptions lit up by astral crossfire, pressure building where power surges and bass throbs ring around the arena like sonic whiplash.

Quelling the crisis, a breakdown presided over by a dancefloor dictator declares what’s required of you, the raver, as if announcing the biggest heavyweight championship clash of all time. Safe to say this is yet another Marco V epic.

In Charge head and source of ‘Propaganda’, Marco V is a been there-done that model of consistency, a scene mainstay who has been DJing, producing, remixing and running labels since the 90s. Achievements and honours are long and plentiful, playing house, trance and the sounds in between at some of the world’s biggest festivals, and remixing artists as diverse as Madonna, Nicole Scherzinger and 50 Cent.

Not everyone gets to rework genuine anthems from Age of Love and Energy 52, and his Southside Spinners project famously became a top 10 hit, soundtracking the teenage adventures of ‘Kevin & Perry Go Large’.

At the peak of his powers for a quarter of a century, the marauding ‘BE/AT’ is the latest in his distinctively titled VISION 20/20 series following ‘HO/PE’ ‘HU/NT’, ‘WA/VE’, ‘PU/RE’ and ‘RAB/BIT’.
