Craze & Palmer Reed Team Up On Melodic, Spiritually Tings Drum & Bass Single ‘Stuck On You’

Two talents with diverse musical backgrounds find common ground via the single “Stuck On You.” The track exquisitely fuses the best parts of both acts, who have both written, performed, and produced extensively in their long running careers.

The single captures a metaphysical essence from tip to tail. On the instrumental front, Craze designs the beat where it lifts the spirit to a calming centered space, while simultaneously delivering a feisty, spritely essence all in the same go. Considering Craze’s heavy history, influence, and respect in the realm of drum and bass, “Stuck On You,” is not just another quality notch on the belt for the artist, but another delivery to his devoted audience who have been primed to demand such high-caliber d’n’b productions.

Palmer Reed takes full advantage of this component, landing moving r&b parts that naturally gel with the sonic energy flowing. The experience channels a hypnotizing and gratifying aura from start to finish, the rise and fall of the intensity level being like an ocean wave that sweeps control of the listener’s mental state and positions it to feel content and pleasured.

Craze and Palmer Reed first connected through the late Big Makk, a talented DJ/producer who was a mutual friend. Then feeling a creative chemistry between them, they both had an itch to set studio time and pump out a vibe that they knew was meant to be. Palmer eventually sent Craze a hook, which he had deep inspiration for and thus motivated him to put his production skills to the test. Now, “Stuck On You,” is immortalized and has been nested within Slow Roast Records, a label Craze himself has co-founded with Kill The Noise and continues to have regular success with.

Considering the accomplishments of both Craze and Palmer Reed, the momentum around “Stuck On You,” is nothing short of hot, symbolizing the synergy these two acts have with one other – a precious aspect between two artists that shouldn’t be taken for granted.

TRIGO Drops Heavy, Glitchy Single ‘Keys To The Past’ on vibe.digital

Returning to established wave label vibe.digital, TRIGO has another trippy, alluring single to share with the masses in “Key To The Past.” The single overflows with personality and captivation through its well-design synthwork and overall clever theme at hand.

Equally dark as it is confidence inducing, the smooth, thick basslines breathe an earth-shaking power that allows the synth work and technical effects atop to have a go at one’s senses. The combination afoot here makes the moment, with plenty of time-testing elements all rolled into one release.

Having played shows with other label mates such as Just Connor and WRCKTNGL (who is also a label co-founder,) and having past releases on the label itself, it’s safe to say he’s one the crew.

Flynninho Pays Tribute To Action-Film ‘Sicario’ With Dark, Epic House Single ‘Sicario Mode’

Passionate and edgy DJ/producer Flynninho is making his debut on Thomas Xavier’s Pharaoh Phonix label with the release of cinematically influenced single “Sicario Mode.” The track is inspired by the 2015 film ‘‘Sicario,” with the entirety of the song being made with samples taken from two movie trailers.

The peak of “Sicario Mode,” comes at the drop, with a distinctive, slurred droning sound marking the most adrenaline pumping part of it. Yet, there’s much more that this sound symbolizes beyond a filler for a song. The film “Sicario” virtually pioneered the sound to enhance the action moments in the film. Taking this sentiment a step further, Flynninho utilizes this feel-good power effect in an entirely new and innovative way, incorporating into his music in a manner that doesn’t come off forced or unnatural in the least.

Sicario Mode,” is a club-ready house track through and through, but as mentioned, blaires a deeper backstory that will have a positive conscience and subconscious effect on the end listener due to it’s multi-layered incorporation of pop culture within its being.

Flynninho has no issue going hard and channeling the heavier side of the music spectrum through his rising alias. Fast-paced themes, neck-breaking drops, dynamic energy levels are all a part of the allure he brings to the table.

Considering the festival performances and world-renowned DJ’s he’s shared the stage with, it’s certain he’s on to something that listeners demand and that he is passionate about.

Japanese Electronic Music: New Kind Landscape Inspired Music

The western world has influenced Japanese culture and society in a big way ever since the World War II came to an end. You will see American influenced subcultures, like the biker tribes and Rockabilly gangs these days. The country’s fashion designers too have also adopted American looms and recreated the famous American denim. Distillers have worked overtime and imported bourbon whiskey.

Throughout the country, you will find the streets are lined with chain stores and fast food restaurants. In music as well, techno has become very popular, especially in the late night soundtracks.

However, a new trend is now sweeping through the country. Japan’s landscape is influencing its music scene, especially electronic music. Mount Fuji is only an hour and a half from Tokyo. The sea at Kanagawa, volcanoes, hills, and the cherry blossom trees are all influencing Japanese electronic music. Ever since 2018, the country is infusing these wonderful natural sights into its EDM and churning out many fresh talents.

Japan Electro Music

Electronic music throughout the world is not what you will find in Japan. In the country, it is often more meditative because the sound of the waves, sound of the leaves moving in a breeze, and other landscape-inspired elements are incorporated into the music. Japanese experimental electronic music can often have a hypnotic effect, which makes it unique. It could be the right choice if you want to relax after a busy day. Read this introduction to Japanese culture to find out how the society is changing.

The land of the rising sun has made rapid strides in electronics over the last 50 years and you will see this in the music industry too. Roland Corporation based out of Osaka brought out drum machines and synthesizers that became popular worldwide. The company has continued to innovate to bring out new products.

There has also been the TR-77 rhythm box and ‘field recordings’ where sound is captured outside the recording studio. Aube or Akifumi Nakajima, Minoru Sato, and Toshiya Tsunoda have all made significant contributions in the development of field recordings in Japan. Let us also not forget the contribution of video game music and the madness of J-Pop in recent years. The neon-lit walkways of Tokyo are now filled with them. They have all contributed to the growth of electronic music in Japan.

These developments have certainly worked as inspirations for the modern-day musicians of the country. But rather than just aping the western world’s culture and music scene, they are incorporating elements from the landscape of Japan and making Japan’s music more authentic, richer. The music world globally is taking notice of this.

Japanese Landscape

The country is small in size but its landscape is extremely rich. The islands are packed with many breathtaking landscapes, which you will find in its mountains, valleys, lakes, and beaches. The contrast of green mountains, white snow, and pink cherry blossoms make it quite magical.

80% of the country is covered in mountains like the famous Mount Fuji, Mount Tate, and Mount Hotaka. They are all different in beauty. Then there are beautiful lavender fields and rice terraces, which has a special meaning in the country because rice is important in Japanese cuisine.

But perhaps, the most famous landscape in Japan outside the country is its gorgeous gardens. Kenrokuen Gardens, Kenroku-en, Koraku-en, Kokedera, Shinjuku Gyoen, Ritsurin Koen or the chestnut grove are all stunning. Electronic music has incorporated many elements from these gardens, such as the Japanese frog noise. The effect of such calming Japanese music can really be very relaxing. They can also inspire meditation and reflection.

Japanese Electronic Artists

Japanese artists are adding their own flavors and twists to the composition and in the process making the music of Japan richer. They are making the country’s electronic music a mix of the eastern and western.

But the experimentation started many years back. Magic Orchestra, for example, started innovating with electronic sounds. They were able to mix lounge exotica with robotic rhythms, Kraftwerk style keys, and futuristic styles. Then there was Denki Groove that mixed up pop with techno. But later on, the group moved into more serious music.

Soon, other producers started to emerge, such as Ken Ishii who started making ambient techno for the mass audience. It became hugely successful, making him a very popular DJ.

Artists, such as Chihei Hatakeyama have included elements from the gardens to the sound and music of Japan. The Tokyo-based Matt Lyne provides mental respite by incorporating the country’s natural beauty. In the work of Yosi Horikawa too, you will find the influence of animals like snakes and bears. He has traveled throughout Japan’s hills and forests to find inspiration.

Lyn Inaizumi, the Japanese singer, who is into soul and jazz is one more talent who has already made a huge name for herself. More and more Japan electronics music artists are now experimenting and many of them are getting inspired from the country’s gorgeous landscape.

Check out the full interview below!

1. Hello! How are you?

Hello, well, under the situation of the Coronavirus in my country, everything is becoming a little hard. But I also believe, of course, that we will soon prevail over the new Coronavirus strain.

2. Can you tell us more about yourselves? What kind of music do you like to produce?

I’m a DJ and music producer, in 2021, I joined the production of a track with Aryue, (no. 84 in DJMag top100). And as of now, I’ve been captivated by the sound of the Future Rave genre. I feel that Future Rave is not a style, but like a feeling, namely. A kind of intoxicating and ground-breaking feeling. Following this idea, I started the production of ‘The Feeling’.

3. Walk us through the process of working on ‘The Feeling’, how did the idea start?

In the process of making music, I’m always looking for the feeling that I want and I’m sure that’s what every music producer is looking for. Every piece of music has a soul. Sometimes even a simple sound makes me happy, but other times, the lack of inspiration makes me miserable. That, I suppose, is the joy of music producers. And I have enjoyed it all.

4. What were you looking for when producing the track?

When we started working on this song, I felt like we were standing on the shoulders of giants, and that was an uplifting spiritual strength and feeling. We are, literally, the ultimate Future Rave fans!

5. How has the experience been of releasing your song with Future Rave Music?

I love Future Rave Music, I believe they are really professional, but also very friendly and warm. Working with them also greatly increases the chances of reaching a wider audience, so I am grateful to Future Rave Music!

6. Can you describe the track to someone who hasn’t listened to it yet?

If you haven’t listened to ‘The Feeling’ yet, I can tell you, you will fall in love with this song. This song is so sexy and energetic, and I’m sure you’ll like it.

7. Where do you think it’s the best place to listen to the song?

Everywhere! In the club, when running, in the gym or just when hanging out with friends.

8. What are you currently working on?

For now, I’m still working on more Future Rave music, and I’m enjoying it. Taking into account our fans expectations, will not let them down.

Will Wallace presents his brand new track ‘Drown’

Fast-rising Producer and DJ prodigy Will Wallace is certainly wasting no time in showing his technical prowess and creative flair as his burgeoning project rapidly follows up 2022’s first accomplishment ‘Mind Blown’, with another stellar production that is starting to nurture Will a reputation that’s becoming hard to ignore.

This month, he introduces ‘Drown’, a fresh track that’ll no doubt be going down a treat with listeners or industry tastemakers and peers that are catching onto the familiarity with what Will is doing as he starts to show not just quality, but the ability to follow up on his heavy hitting tracks. Will’s production HQ is clearly not collecting dust as another anthem emerges this Spring.

Drown’ is a hybrid underground-facing House production that bridges the gap between the darker dancefloor production style and commercially viable radio crossover work with precision by pairing buttery-smooth lead vocals with a combination of shuffled, classic Roland-esque hats and claps layered above punchy kicks that do the job of carrying the classic House beat that occasionally derails into volatility via crafty roll variations and staggered timing on pre-drop hits.

Will’s production swagger shines in the rhythmic department as he brilliantly shapeshifts without notice between more vintage 90s style throwback House drum patterns on the main segments into futuristic, off the grid feeling rolls and buildups that take the famous drum structures of House music and place them thoroughly into the future to create this modern vibe.

As the extended sine wave reverse riser crescendos into the main body of the track we’re treated to the combination of the plucked arp lead which provides aural melodic detailing in the midrange over the extended brassy bass hits that solidify the sub frequencies to provide a tight thud to the chest on the dancefloor. The bass works in unison with the brassy tones that sit an octave above the sub bass with low pass filtering to marry the two together into one superb, reinforced lead bass.

The production and engineering on the vocal recording gives ‘Drown’ a signature and modern mainstream crossover Deep House flavour with the emphasis on pitch modulation, reverb-soaked ad-libs and a sonically gorgeous compression and rich harmonic saturation colour that creates that perfect ear candy that is so prominent in the best of this sub-genre.

The discernable listener will have no issue in detecting that this is a Producer that places dedication to technical ethics in audio engineering and meticulous detail on a micro level evenly matched with the creativity that is proportionately potent. The Will Wallace signature sound is becoming apparent and it’s the sound of a Producer that has an ear to the ground of modern shifts in genre and the ability to ride that razor wire between over and underground with a touch of class.

With this latest release, Will Wallace continues to make his way into the Dance music world, putting his name into the list of artists not to be missed as he keeps on releasing memorable ear worms at a continual frequency. Be sure to follow him if you’re not already as this journey is just getting started.

Drown’ is out now and available now. Check out Will Wallace’s social media accounts and find his music on major streaming platforms.
