Wehbba releases remix of classic dance anthem Jam & Spoon “Odyssey To Anyoona”

Wehbba

Great originals deserve great remixes and Jam & Spoon’s iconic “Odyssey to Anyoona”, released in 1993, most definitely matches that profile.

25+ years after it first landed the dancefloors, nobody less than Brazilian DJ and producer Wehbba prepared “Odyssey to Anyoona” for 2022 with a fingerprint remix that really distinguishes him as an artist.

He pushes the stylistic needle only as far as is needed in order to connect its subtler harmonies with the persuasive pulse of his backing production. Pushing the tempo into later-night area, he hauntingly pans, echoes and shuttles the track’s vocal around the speakers, gradually building up its intensity.

Jam & Spoon – Odyssey To Anyoona (Wehbba Remix) is out now on Black Hole Recordings.

RayRay and MorganJ join forces on banging new track ‘The Underground’ out now on Tomorrowland Music

In a collaborative triumph, Taiwan’s fast-rising DJ & producer RayRay has joined forces with Italian DJ and producer MorganJ for their brand-new single ‘The Underground’, released through Tomorrowland Music!

The Underground‘ wastes no time in getting down to business with an insistent driving beat hammering away under RayRay‘s delirious vocal tones – another hefty new slice of full-throttle dance music. The infectious tune is the perfect mixture of a booming bass and vibrant production elements, just in time for the sizzling summer days.

The Underground‘ is the first of a collection of upcoming festival releases by Tomorrowland Music under this year’s festival theme ‘The Reflection of Love‘, celebrating the return of Tomorrowland after three years by gathering some of the biggest artists in electronic music on Tomorrowland’s record imprint.

RayRay: “I’m a big fan of MorganJ’s sound and music talent! He reached out to me for a collaboration. We started this project early this year, and we finished it by sending stems and vocals back & forth via internet. It’s a combination of MorganJ’s unique icy signature sound and my vocals.

I had so much fun when making this song! MorganJ inspired me so much and he was willing to let my creativity flow freely. Just be yourself, be real and show everyone that you genuinely have the passion and the love for what you are doing! Music is no gender, so you can really create something meaningful and inspiring. No matter if you are male or female.”

MorganJ: “I was inspired by the famous track ‘Straight Outta Compton’, so I decided to make something really underground with an old school electronic sound influence. After the first demo, I showed the tune to RayRay, because I was pretty sure that the track could reach the next level with her vocals.”

Goodboys deliver dance-ready tech house gem ‘Jack Flip’ on Tomorrowland Music

British Grammy nominated duo Goodboys deliver a dazzling and dance-ready tech house gem ‘Jack Flip’, released through Tomorrowland Music! Arriving just in time for the festival season, the rework of the legendary anthem ‘Jack’ by Breach conjures up all the ingredients needed to become one of this summer’s top-rotating tracks. ‘Jack Flip’ combines electric pop beats with the right amount of dark undertones – the perfect fuel for any party, which will have listeners heading straight to the dancefloor!

Multi-talented vocal, production and writing duo Goodboys have earned multi-platinum success and over 5 billion streams to their name. Their massive debut to fame came in 2019 with the megahit ‘Piece Of Your Mind‘ with MEDUZA, and they haven’t let up since.

Finally making their debut at Tomorrowland in 2022, Goodboys will be playing a string of shows for the Belgian festival, including two official party flights to Belgium (Oslo – Brussels on July 13 and London – Brussels on July 14), Invited Brussels on July 14 (an official Global Journey pre-party) and a very special show on July 15 in a secret area on the festival grounds of Tomorrowland, which was created this year for the first time.

Goodboys: “We have always been massive fans of the original ‘Breach’ record and wanted to be able to play an adaptation of the original live. We were actually on a writing week working with some of our friends making more radio/pop dance music and the song just happened over the course of the week.

To be honest we didn’t ever plan on releasing it – we just wanted it for shows, but when we saw the response it was getting (and people asking for it) we decided to put it out so the world can have it too! Whenever we listen to it or play it live, we just look at each other and laugh because we know we would lose it if we heard another DJ play it. Making it was so much fun because it felt pressure free… fun fact the ‘girl’ voice in the song is also Josh’s voice, so that part was pretty hilarious.”

Yotto’s unveils his ambient album ‘Erased Dreams’ inspired by The KLF’s 1990 album ‘Chill Out’

‘Erased Dreams’ is the first full-length, low-tempo project from Yotto. The Helsinki-based artist is well-known for his thunderous DJ sets and deep, bass-heavy house productions, but with ‘Erased Dreams’, Yotto reveals another side to himself.

The 8-track ambient album, released on Anjunadeep’s new sister label Reflections, may seem like a departure from Yotto’s usual style, but he’s always made music like this. With Reflections, he finally found a home for it.

Throughout his sparkling career, which includes a Billboard #1 LP and official remixes for artists like Joris Voorn, Gorillaz, and Coldplay, Yotto has produced ambient tracks to help him look inward and recharge his creative battery. But when COVID hit, his inner world took over.

“At first, I was being really productive with club music,” Yotto says, speaking from his home in Helsinki. “But then after a while, I started making something completely opposite.” Yotto found himself exploring a different form of expression, and didn’t have a plan other than to create. But when he put the tracks side-by-side in a playlist he recognized a synergy, and the outline of the project began to take shape.

The result is more of a continuous soundscape than an album; an ethereal and dreamy experience designed to accompany the listener as they turn inward and drift away. If club music is a form of escape, then this is too – but instead of turning outward, we lose ourselves inward.

The structure was inspired by The KLF’s 1990 album Chill Out – a concept album written as a sonic journal to document the band’s road trip across America. Yotto says ‘Erased Dreams’ is structured like a journal, too, and acts as a documentation of his inner workings and sentiments during the lockdown. So it makes sense that an over-arching theme is one of repetition and continuity.

“I bought a guitar, which I had no idea how to play,” Yotto says. “So I started messing around with pedals and stuff, trying to see how far I can stretch one sound, so a lot of the album comes from me trying to make endless sounds from different sources.”

This is certainly true of the first single, “Silhouette,” released on June 13th. It’s a melancholy, atmospheric track with hints of ‘80s nostalgia and vocals from Sansa that are smooth as glass. The track conjures up images of vast and endless landscapes; the sense of space is enhanced by sparse chord changes and field recordings of heavy rain. “Silhouette” is so human it feels like an extension of emotion, and Yotto says the idea came to him like a dream. A sound drifted towards him one day and he caught it by the tail and built on top of it until it became the entity he envisioned. “I think the beauty lies in the simplicity of it,” Yotto says. “It’s slow and steady and it grows.”

Yotto found the experience of creating this album surprisingly liberating. He spent his whole career is defined by a certain sound, and with ‘Erased Dreams’ he’s revealing how much more there is to him as an artist – a sentiment that’s reflected in the album title.

“This music usually gets deleted or erased or pushed to the side because I’m focusing on something clubby,” he says. “And it all sounds very dreamy and nostalgic.” There’s a common string tying every track in ‘Erased Dreams’ together – the same one that ties Yotto’s ambient and club productions. There’s a crispness and simplicity to his style that makes all of his work instantly recognizable and undeniably Yotto.

Club music will always be at the core of Yotto’s work, but his ambient catalog will no longer sit in the shadows. Together, these parallel forms of expression don’t dilute Yotto’s artistry; they make it even stronger.

The Most Popular Music Genres Among Students

The majority of college students spend a lot of time listening to music, as they need to stay positive and relax once in a while. Some learners even prefer to play rhythmic or soothing music in the background (depending on a person) as they are trying to cope with complex school tasks.

It helps them to stay focused and get away from other types of distractions. We all like something different, yet there are music genres that are especially popular among students as they are young, energetic, and love to follow the latest trends. Of course, it doesn’t mean that we won’t be able to encounter students listening to those rare jazz records or classical music!

The Most Popular Music Genres Among Students

● Pop Music.

Since most college learners are still young and listen to what is popular, the presence of pop music on the playlists (Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift, BTS, Beyoncé, Ariana Grande, etc) is only natural. At the same time, when a song is good and easy, modern students prefer “feel good” tunes that inspire and cheer them up. Another way to cheer up is to pay for essays online and get over the academic stress. Just let the experts help you and listen to music as you rest your back and eyes!

● Hip-Hop.

The tricky part with hip-hop music is that it is not only a collection of great samples and inspiring melodies but a style of life where a person strives for freedom of expression. It is a reason why this style is so popular among college students. You will hear hip-hop music blasting in the halls or during the parties as people get together, discuss things, and just chill on their own.

● Rock.

You will be surprised to find out that rock music is more alive than ever! Just take a look at the Super Bowl half-time performance of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers at the University of Phoenix stadium, where thousands of students cheered the band during the break. Starting with classic rock to progressive and alternative bands, students love their share of guitar sounds and emotional lyrics! If you want to compose something too or need corrections to your writing, approach a paper writer for hire online. Be it for college or creative tasks, you will definitely find someone who can help you with your writing. It’s a lot of fun, too!

● Ambient / Lounge Styles.

Let’s not forget about electronic styles like minimal techno, ambient, drones (yes, people do listen to that!), shoe gaze, and lounge styles. Students of all backgrounds prefer such music once in a while! Numerous electronic artists emerge all the time, so students that seek inspiring music add them to their devices. College students often make ambient playlists for parties when they need to do some talking. While these may not make it to the wedding songs for students, they are good when you need to relax and spend some time concentrating. Some learners say that ambient music helps them to get over the stress, which is understandable.

● Country.

They may not wear a cowboy hat and boots, yet these are usually the friendliest people who will always be there for you and have a piece of advice!

Do Not Stick With One Genre Only!

When you are exploring new music, make it a rule to keep your mind open and explore those styles that you are not familiar with. If you see a metalhead looking for assistance, do not ignore that person if you prefer pop music, and do not attack each other. Show due respect and ensure that you learn more about other genres, share what you like, and explain why it is so. It will not only expand your musical knowledge but will help you to make new friends. Music is a universal language, so let your heart talk and learn how to listen!
