Glowal release their long-anticipated debut album: ‘Trigger Your Sense’

Glowal

For Italian producer duo Glowal, these past few years have all revolved around stepping out of comfort zones and trying out new things. Long-time friends Fabio and Alessandro took their time in lockdown as an opportunity to step away from public’s opinion and pressure and fully focus on their own instincts. This creative freedom has now culminated in the release of Glowal’s first ever artist album: ‘Trigger Your Sense’, out now on Sapiens Records.

Though ‘Trigger Your Sense‘ is reflective of all the world has been feeling these past years, it offers listeners an uplifting element that pushes the positive angle instead.

With leading singles ‘AYOT‘ and ‘Unbroken‘ receiving praise from industry heavyweights like Tale Of Us and BBC Radio 1’s Pete Tong, the ten track album mirrors the drive to look beyond limits while showcasing Glowal‘s multi-diverse skillset as producers, song writers and vocalists.

Of course, COVID isolation had a big influence on our musical output“, Glowal explains.

As soon as we were able to let go of certain expectations and opinions, the creative flow followed quite naturally. Ninety percent of the album came out of a fifteen-day-long studio session we did between December 2020 and January 2021. From the writing of the lyrics to the growing presence of vocals, it was all a full immersive experience to us. Not something we planned, but something that just happened very naturally.

During New Year’s Eve we spent the night inside of our studio finishing up the album and welcoming the new year feeling hopeful for the future. All of the melodies inside of the tracks on this album come from a mixture of emotions between the struggles we experienced these past years and the strong hope for better days moving forward. We’re very happy how it turned out! ‘Trigger Your Sense’ is basically an invite for those who got lost to find that sense of life and hope again, like we experienced while making it. We hope you all enjoy it!

10 Musicians Who Got Big in College

From time to time, aspiring musicians might wonder if they can land a big break with their music. Doubts are natural. It’s especially daunting to launch a music career with school responsibilities and everyday life to take care of.

However, not all is lost. Here’s a list of the many artists and bands who made it big while attending college. It proves that nothing is impossible, but the right things come with hard work and determination. And if you feel impatient and want to free yourself of academic burdens so that you can focus more on music, there’s a solution.

That solution is Studyfy. It’s a website that offers homework help services online. The prices are fair, and the writers and tutors on the website are experts at what they do. So, for our readers who have too much on their plate and feel like they’re losing touch with their dreams, it’s worth trying.

Moving on, here are ten musicians who made it to stardom during their college years.

Thom Yorke

During his college years, Yorke allotted a lot of his free time to music, to no surprise. Yorke played as a DJ, was part of a classical music ensemble, and was a member of a band called Headless Chickens, which later became the Radiohead that you know today. Since 1991, the band has made its way to stardom.

Lana Del Rey

Del Rey might be known for her timeless music and old-world aesthetics, but she is an advocate for open and progressive thinking. Lana was enrolled as a philosophy major at Fordham University while she was making music on the side.

In her senior year, she signed her first record deal. Lana’s actual name is Lizzy Grant, but she changed her stage name after being inspired by actress Lana Turner and rebranded herself.

Lady Gaga

Gaga, originally named Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, attended Tisch School of the Arts in New York before she rose to prominence with the release of her album ‘The Fame’ in 2008. She quit the university when she got signed.

Up till her fame, Gaga had it pretty hard in high school and college. In some interviews, she confessed that she was bullied and faced antagonism in her school years. So, making a big break in the music career to rise to glory was probably something fueled by the pain she might have felt from her experiences.

J. Cole

J. Cole was making his name while still attending university in New York. The rapper majored in subjects that most of our readers might think suited the well-spoken rap artist. He majored in communications and minored in business, which helped him strike a deal with Roc Nation and Jay-Z. The charm, eloquence, and business etiquette served Cole well in the end.

Childish Gambino

While attending Tisch School of the Art and getting a degree in drama writing in 2006, Gambino got his ticket to fame after writing for 30 Rock. He was a comedian and actor before he focused on music and became Childish Gambino in 2013. His degree didn’t go to waste in his music since he wrote a 72-page screenplay that accompanied his first successful album, entitled ‘Because of The Internet.’

Kesha

Kesha might make pop music intended for party-people masses; however, Kesha isn’t just a party animal pop star as she may be marketed. She is very smart. She reportedly scored 1500 on her SAT, rejected an invite from Columbia University, and went on to pursue her career in music, which eventually led to stardom.

Vampire Weekend

Vampire Weekend was ‘L’Homme Run’ before it got renamed and rebranded. Two members of Vampire Weekend, namely frontman Ezra and drummer Chris, wrote their first album on campus. Let’s note that both band members started the project as a sort of joke and experiment; however, it became much more than that. They paved their legacy.

Muse

The rock band started while attending Teignmouth Community, and they had quite a history of band names:

– Howard Carnage Mayhem;
– Gothic Plague;
– Rocket Baby Dolls.

They changed their name to Muse after they started gaining popularity. Nonetheless, Muse paved their way from zero to hero and rebranded themselves in 1994; the rest is history. Their college days were over.

Brian May

Queen’s guitarist, Brian May, was quite the logician back in his university days. He majored in and got a doctorate in two subjects, physics and math. He was attending Imperial College London on the side, gaining PHDs and playing in Queen. Brian May is indeed a talented king.

Queen finally hit their big break when they released the song ‘Killer Queen.’ And although Brian May was making a killing in his college life, he evidently stopped studying to focus on Queen.

Common

Rap artist Common was attending Florida A&M University while he was hustling to get his name out to the world. Besides, Common was even on a scholarship deal. He had been studying for two years but eventually dropped out when he found a record to sign with. Debuting in 1992, Common signed with Relativity Records and became a star during the 90s.

Final Thoughts

It’s inspiring to come to know that most musicians weren’t born with a silver spoon but had to work hard and experiment to get to their dreams. Success loves courage, and going for what you truly love in life is an act of courage. We hope this article has inspired our readers in whatever venture or path they’re taking on.

Music, arts, science, literature – whatever you do, immerse yourself fully in it as long as it’s something that you genuinely believe in. It might be difficult to juggle and balance daily chores and responsibilities with your dreams, but with willpower and consistency, everything is reachable. We wish you persistence and luck with all your endeavors. Remember not to give up on your dreams!

David Guetta, Becky Hill & Ella Henderson release new summer hit ‘Crazy What Love Can Do’

David Guetta

David Guetta, Becky Hill and Ella Henderson have released their collaborative single ‘Crazy What Love Can Do’, out now on Parlophone. A cinematic music video for the track, shot in Barcelona and Miami, is set to follow next week.

Crazy What Love Can Do‘ announces itself with the soaring, instantly-recognisable vocals of both Becky Hill and Ella Henderson and pairs feelgood piano chords with euphoric drops – a combination that’s destined to make it the sound of summer 2022. The single has already had a tremendous start with confirmed support with BBC Radio 1’s Best New Pop and Party Anthems shows. Not the first time Guetta and Hill have joined forces, it follows their 2021 hit collab ‘Remember‘, which has garnered over 150 million streams to date.

In typically prolific form, ‘Crazy What Love Can Do‘ follows Guetta‘s latest mammoth collaboration with Joel Corry and Bryson Tiller,What Would You Do?‘, which has already amassed over 8 million Spotify streams and gained extensive support from BBC Radio 1, Kiss and Capital FM.

He was awarded world’s best DJ in the coveted DJ Mag ‘Top 100’ poll, just won ‘Dance Act of the Year’ award at this year’s iHeartRadio Music Awards, and also remixed the Kodak Black global smash ‘Super Gremlin’. Joel, Kodak and Guetta‘s Future Rave partner Morten all joined him onstage for an incredible set at this year’s Ultra Festival in Miami, before Guetta headed to Vegas to kick off his residency at Encore Beach Club.

Speaking more on the single, Guetta comments:

“This to me is a summer dance record, and I think it spreads an important message of love and just how powerful it is. I really enjoyed working once again with Becky, since our first successful single ‘Remember’, and working with Ella for the first time was also very exciting. It was a pleasure to work with both these incredible artists.”

Becky shared her thoughts on the song:

I fell in love with this record the moment I heard it. Cooked up by the incredible musical chefs Rob Harvey, Jordan Reily and the most amazing Ella Henderson. I was sent it by David Guetta and I knew Ella and I would sound perfect together. It’s a shame that women don’t duet together more regularly so I’m glad me and Ella are kicking off 2022 with this iconic smash dance record. Guetta’s done it again and I for one am so proud to be part of another one.

Ella added: “I am unbelievably excited about this record! This one has been cooking up in the oven for a while so finally letting the world hear it means so much! This song is all about the empowering & wild feelings that love & friendship can do to you! Working with Becky & David has been an absolute dream & I loved every second of writing this song & the whole creative process!

Also shooting the music video was so much fun because it was like making our own mini ‘Thelma & Louise’ movie!! I think bringing the song to life through the narrative & visual aesthetic will really help tell the story of how two best friends only need their own self love & each other to take on the world & never look back!

A collaboration between three artists at the top of their game, the single is sure to be one of the most exciting dance releases this year.

Alex Gold, presents ‘Stranded in Paradise’ (The Anniversary Remixes)

Alex Gold

As Miami is upon us and with Ibiza on the horizon – Xtravaganza Recordings’ very own Alex Gold, presents ‘Stranded in Paradise’ (The Anniversary Remixes). Marking a highly anticipated release from the label’s front man.

Titled ‘Stranded in Paradise‘ and welcoming a selection of fresh 25th anniversary mixes, the record serves up a firm dose of Xtravaganza‘s trademark sound – as one of dance music’s original trailblazers enter into their twenty fifth year.

Xtravaganza Recordings requires little introduction and was seminal in shaping early dance music culture, with the label also having played an instrumental part in launching Armin van Burren‘s career, with the release of his debut ‘Blue Fear‘ – back in 1997.

Whilst Alex Gold and the label are also credited with executive production and crafting the early stages of Chicane‘s career, releasing and developing the first two albums and Balearic favourites ‘Behind The Sun‘ & ‘Far From The Maddening Crowd‘. Xtravaganza then went on to create an enviable stable and clock up a number of much loved and classic releases, with the label firmly cementing itself in electronic music history.

Founded in 1996, by the legendary music producer Alex Gold – his natural A&R talent, coupled with an unrivalled entrepreneurial spirit – saw Xtravaganza become one of dance music’s true players and pioneer much of the early Balearic sound, delivering hedonism on a truly global scale. Notching up over fifteen million sales, the label would also go onto deliver two UK No1 hit singles and its internationally famed formula, for an accessible and cosmopolitan, Ibiza focused sound – has remained true throughout.

Across its expansive twenty five year history, some of the greatest names in dance music have appeared on the label – including Tiësto, Paul van Dyk, Above & Beyond, Chicane, Agnelli & Nelson, Chris Lake, Andy C (Groove Armada), Dëhasse, Adam K & Soha and Armin van Buuren.

And further highlighting its far reaching level of influence and industry dominance, recording artists such as Bryan Adams, Marie Brennan (Clannad), Phillip Oakey (Human League), Chuck D, Public Enemy and Prince – all went onto feature on the label.

Alex Gold himself (under his then Dëhasse alias) was also responsible for the remixes of the London 2012 Olympic Games theme tune, the Public Enemy cut – ‘Harder Than You Think‘.

Fast forward to the present, as ‘Stranded in Paradise‘ takes up centre stage – hold tight.
