Kareem El Morr readies his “Super Illegal Revolution Trax” on RFR Records

Munich’s most flexible shapeshifter comes equipped with three new weapons. Needless to mention he’s got our full support for his subversive revolutionary plans.

Don’t try this at home“- a warning that has always been more of an encouragement to do forbidden things than inspire cautiousness. But basically correct, and for want of a booming club life, you better enjoy this Detroit burner with a proper car system or in an abandoned warehouse that is gettin cut into pieces by stroboscope lightning. Of course, under the correct appliance of all hygiene measures.

No, this ain’t a Trumpesque call to arms in order to charge for the Reichstag. On the contrary, it shows how any stable foundation can be undermined with a healthy dose of 90s acid. If you don’t believe it, just listen to Rakim’s „Stay in bed remix“ of „How to bring down your government“.

For the end of our adventure we are given a nice „Sidequest“. As for the reward, there’s a shiny loot box with legendary items, beautifully wrapped in trancey techno. Lovers of Aril Brikha might find some valuable treasure here.

RYOKER and Elae Weekes tap How3ll, Vedeus, and Dazed for remixes of ‘I See You’

RYOKER and Elae Weekes were clearly meant to work together, “I See You,” being one of the most successful releases to date from both acts. The video premiered a few weeks back, and quickly soars to over 200K views on YouTube, not counting the streaming numbers from the audio copy of the release.

The story meshes futuristic and conceptual visuals with that of a lust-tinged love story. The tale has enough connective tissue to articulate a narrative, but maintains a broader feel to it where the end-viewer can make their own interpretation of exactly what is going on between the characters involved.

To add more to the fast-paced momentum that’s surrounding “I See You,” How3ll, Vedeus, and Dazed – all Latin producers – have been invited to put their own twist on the original, breathing new life into these remixes. Each version is an eclectic merging between the respective artists’ own styles and the core aspects of what the original has to offer.

How3ll’s remix is the most club-friendly of the 3, infusing the original with a technical groove throughout. The saxophone melodies adds an edge that sedates and seduces all in the same go. Featuring piano house layers echoing that of Martin Ikin, there is a multi-faceted concept that’s built into this edit.

Vedeus is the secondary alias of DJ/producer Zextone. Deep-influences and high-focus on the melodies make this flip stand out. Big basslines drive forth ahead of the drop, building up anticipation before the drop in an epic way. Down the same lane of a Zhu release, the lifestyle fits of this flip ranges from work out to, festival, club, chilling with friends, road trip, and more.

Dazed brings in a hypnotic, progressive inclusion onto his remix, enhancing the infectiousness of the hook and places a CamelPhat inspired drop that hits the spot. Throwing in piano house design for good measure, Dazed nails this flip from start to finish.

Listen to the remixes below.

Max Low Explodes Onto To Scene With In/Rotation (Insomniac) Release “Good Time”

April 12th will forever be a day that lives in infamy for Max Low. Seemingly out of nowhere, they’ve burst onto the electronic music scene with a captivating, perfectly-polished house single “Good Time.”

The track first debuted at Academy L.A early this month, the duo stepping onto the stage for a secret set alongside Matroda, Black V Neck, and Cloverdale. The night was nothing short of success, the crowd engaging with the grooves, clearly showcasing their receptiveness toward the vibrations put into the air.

Good Time” brings a dynamic energy to the table. The track wastes no time setting the mood with tight-knit tech house percussion piercing the air.

A gradual soul-stirring choir epically fades in from the background as a dirty synth melody begins to take center stage. A galloping build-up storms forward that brings the intensity to a peak, then cascades into a drop. The devil’s in the details with “Good Time,” flickers of confidence-evoking vocals and added drum deliver an edgy allure that hits the brain on conscious and subconscious levels. The track was born in a post-show, late night creative session and in the nightlife is where it’s meant to live.

Although they are at the start of the Max Low project, their reputation precedes them from their work in the music industry previous to this venture. The evidence of this notion is irrefutable, Max Low having already put this alias in rotation behind the scenes and thus securing bookings at EDC Las Vegas, Groove Cruise Cabo, and locking in signings of yet-to-be-released tracks to CID’s Night Service Only and more to Insomniac.

Expect to see upcoming collaborations featuring Luxo (Desert Hearts) and Rhiannon Roze (Myth of Nyx, Night Bass) alongside their solo releases all within the timeline of 2022.

Max Low is truly a grass-roots spectacle as relatable as they are inspiring. Working just as hard as they have smart, they are building momentum that has forever changed their lives. Join them as they enter a new, exciting saga in their story which is just starting to be written.

Electricity is in the air and the momentum is like a tangible wave coming at the electronic scene with unexpected glee. Max Low has the talent, vision, and quality both musically and in the booth to launch into the limelight in a righteous manner.

Black Coffee releases official remix of WhoMadeWho’s track ‘Silence & Secrets’

WhoMadeWho’s Silence & Secrets is the gift that just keeps on giving. Following the critically acclaimed release of the original record back in November, and a subsequent brace of star-studded remixes from Frank Wiedemann and Adriatique in January, the Danish three-man outfit now looks to further expand on the success of the third single from their forthcoming album, as they enlist Grammy Award-winning South African artist Black Coffee to provide another blockbuster rendition.

Having just accepted the 2022 Grammy for Best Dance/Electronic Album at the award ceremony in Los Angeles last weekend, Black Coffee’s latest production sees Durban-born Nkosinathi Maphumulo breathe new life and a pulsating energy into WhoMadeWho’s wistful original single, as he imparts superlative rhythmic flair to the band’s restrained melodic euphoria.

Reworking WhoMadeWho’s emotive lyrics and uplifting chord progressions into his own percussive sound palette, Coffee’s signature house groove provides the perfect backdrop to Tomas Høffding’s drawn out vocal refrains, as he conjures an impressive tapestry of organic drum patterns and stripped back tones, to deliver the latest spellbinding remix of the flourishing hit record.

Over the last two decades, DJ and producer Black Coffee has fully established his presence as one of the most prominent names in electronic music. Shattering boundaries across the board, his recent productions include a record with international superstar Drake, an official remix for Alicia Keys and the release of his sixth studio album Subconsciously – a twelve-track body of work featuring collaborations with Pharrell Williams, Diplo, RyX, Usher and David Guetta – which recently received the 2022 Grammy Award for Best Dance/Electronic Album by the Recording Academy.

On the live front, Black Coffee has also become one of the top touring performers in the world, with residencies in global dance music hot spots such as Ibiza, Mykonos and Las Vegas and an impressive tour schedule of over 150 shows each year.

Since their inception WhoMadeWho have established themselves as one of the definitive underground bands of their generation, renowned for their exceptional grasp of emotional depth, heartrending melody and inspired song writing.

The group, comprised of Tomas Høffding, Tomas Barfod and Jeppe Kjellberg, inject consummate professionalism into standout performances all over the globe, from Roskilde to Sonar, Melt! to Burning Man and have produced seven albums and a plethora of EPs, singles and remixes on labels like Kompakt, Innervisions, Life & Death. With Barfod’s penchant for electronic music poetically juxtaposed with Høffding and Kjellberg’s respective backgrounds in rock and jazz, their music is an electrifying combination of sounds, merging a variety of influences to produce a unique sonic fingerprint that is emotive, irresistible and immensely satisfying.
