Haddadi Von Engst releases a powerful new EP ‘Bite Your Teeth’

Multi-talented US-based DJ and producer duo, Haddadi Von Engst brings back the holy fire for their first EP of 2022, titled ‘Bite Your Teeth’. The cult favourite duo are sure to race back to their familiar spot on the throne of Beatport’s top charts with this afro-meets-acid, melodic grinder.

Their original starts with an unsuspecting groove that leads to a signature Haddadi Von Engst melodic piano break + finishes with an acidic punch to the nose.

You Plus One friends + megastars Oliver Schories, DSF, and Johannes Klingebiel help pull this EP all together, each with their own unique + timeless rendition of the powerful original: Schories’s dubby rollin-techy beast, DSF’s uplifting bell-filled hosey groover, + Klingebiel’s deeper, more gentle focus on the original’s piano. A completely contagious package fit for every occasion.

Vintage Culture remixes Mella Dee’s ‘Love It Or Not’

Following the raucous acclaim for Mella Dee’s hit single ‘Love It Or Not’, one of the UK’s most prolific electronic producers has today shared a remix of the track by chart-topping DJ and producer, Vintage Culture.

Vintage Culture‘s reworking of ‘Love It Or Not‘ is an immaculately produced deep house cut poised for deployment at worldwide festivals this summer. Stirring piano keys, slick synth lines and effortless vocals from Infinite Coles all blend together synonymously with Vintage Culture‘s signature rolling basslines.

Mella Dee‘s original version is currently hitting the heady heights of 907K global streams in addition to widespread support from BBC Radio 1 with a massive 56 plays across the station.

Speaking on the collaboration, Vintage Culture explains:

When Pete ( Tong ) called and requested a remix for ‘Love It or Not’, I said “yes” even before the track was finished playing in my headphones. Mella Dee’s production on the original version is very strong – my goal was to provide a unique interpretation. ‘Love It or Not’ has a great vocal performance and carries a positive message. I’m proud of my new remix of “Love It or Not” on Three Six Zero Music. Can’t wait to play this for the fans!

Hardwell returns with two new singles ‘BROKEN MIRROR’ & ‘INTO THE UNKNOWN’

hardwell
Hardwell

Dance legend Hardwell returned to the stage at Ultra Music Festival in Miami on Sunday night with a blistering show closing out the iconic dance music festival.

After an almost four-year hiatus, the celebrated figure produced one of the most anticipated comeback performances in electronic history with a set filled with new music, the announcement of his new solo album REBELS NEVER DIE and a world tour. As the key part of a cascading water-fall release plan, Hardwell unveils his first two singles from the new 14-track album – ‘BROKEN MIRROR‘ and ‘INTO THE UNKNOWN‘.

The opening tracks from his Ultra set, ‘BROKEN MIRROR’ and ‘INTO THE UNKNOWN‘ personifies this new chapter in Hardwell’s career. A shift in sound met with a return to touring, REBELS NEVER DIE marks a critical point in the musical transformation for one of electronic music’s biggest known stars, with lead tracks symbolising the theme of the album’s fabric.

The haunting delivery of ‘BROKEN MIRROR‘ featuring a ticking clock and the sound of Hardwell‘s voice is a cinematic nod to a darker sound. His monologue, accompanied by a dark metronome tempo and industrial chimes, gives ‘BROKEN MIRROR‘ an eerie dystopian feel.

Building and swelling with intensity before reaching an apex, Hardwell unleashes a powerful statement that touches on his reflective mindset. “I know you have your opinion. But let’s be honest…Your opinion of me does not define who I am. Because I know what you want me to be. Now, I’m gonna show you who I truly am.

In contrast to the spoken-word lead single, the counter release in this double-headed single drop is ‘INTO THE UNKNOWN‘. A solid dance floor-orientated cut marks the first single that had the world stand up and pay attention during Hardwell‘s Ultra Miami set.

A searing techno release that brings in abrasive, ripping swathes of synth and oscillating melodic arpeggios. Fusing an otherworldly female vocal with ominous goosebump-inducing tension, Hardwell‘s creation with ‘INTO THE UNKNOWN‘ is a menacing addition to the stadium-techno genre.

Whilst Sunday’s return on the Ultra mainstage was not without its classic high-octane status known throughout Hardwell‘s career, his closing set was the dawn of a new era for the Revealed Recordings boss.

Hardwell used his time away on sabbatical to pour all his energy back into the music rekindling his inner spirit for what drove him as a teenager to conquer the electronic scene into his adult years. Now, with the canvas wiped clean, Hardwell is back, and ‘BROKEN MIRROR‘ and ‘INTO THE UNKNOWN‘ is just the beginning of this new saga in his story.

BROKEN MIRROR‘ and ‘INTO THE UNKNOWN‘ is out on Revealed Recording now!

Jamie Jones returns to Defected with a brand new track ‘My Paradise’

There are few names as instantly recognizable, revered, and respected in the world of dance music than Jamie Jones. Renowned DJ and producer, Hot Creations label boss, and founder of global event brand Paradise, his influence is felt across the scene as a tastemaker and innovator.

Following the release ‘Rushing’, his joint label debut with Darius Syrossian on Defected in the summer of 2019, we are very excited to reveal that he is returning to the label with another dancefloor heater just in time for the Ibiza season.

My Paradise‘, named after Jamie‘s iconic Ibiza party synonymous with warm nights and world-class DJ selection, sees Jamie explore disco influences with an earworm vocal and elegant keys, while his signature high-energy bassline and groove give this release boundless dancefloor appeal.

I remember back in my early Ibiza seasons around 2000. There were these big anthems that used pumped up 909 hi-hats, a heavy kick drum, a looping disco groove. Producers like Armand Van Helden and Full Intention did it so well. I wanted to re-create this for the 2022 dancefloor and ‘My Paradise’ is what came out.” – Jamie Jones

Expect to hear this one all over the Island for the duration of Ibiza‘s longest season on record.
