deadmau5 tells Apple Music what is it like being a musician in isolation

Deadmau5 joins Zane Lowe on Apple Music to run through his ‘At Home With’ playlist. He talks about becoming an “EDM boomer”, being a musician in isolation, collaborating with the The Neptunes on “Pomegranate”, the connection between dance music and heavy metal, working with Trent Reznor, listening to younger artists, the latest on his Cube V3 VR experience and more.

deadmau5 Tells Apple music about being a musician in isolation…

Yeah. I’m just kind of sitting around and kind of coming up with ways to keep it going without having to leave the house, and that’s a big challenge. I mean maybe for the musician in general, it’s not really much of a paradigm shift because I’m the self isolating champion from 2004 and onwards. Yeah. So the cool thing we’re going to see is we’re going to see this whole big influx of new music from people that normally would be out touring all the time and didn’t have time to make new music and stuff like that. So artists we already know, you know?

deadmau5 tells Apple Music about his record label, mau5trap…

Matter of fact, we’re doing Mau5trap Monday, just basically me at home in the studio live on stream where people submit their demos and we listen to them. And you wouldn’t believe how many artists we’ve procured Mau5trap from doing these ad hoc kind of streams and stuff. That’s like one way that we’re doing it where it’s like kind of fan interactions/producer interaction with the label where we can listen to demos, keep a note pad of ones that are catching our ears.

deadmau5 speaks about collaborating with The Neptunes on “Pomegranate”

Zane Lowe: For you, the world started working, and to some degree for us as fans anyway, because we’ve got this Neptunes collaboration. We always know Pharrell is always working, Chad’s always working. There’s always things going on, but there was definitely some heat and some excitement around that hint that Neptunes were going to be working in some capacity. You never know what that means that. Are they working on someone else’s album? Are they going to work on any ID record? What is it going to be? It’s come out

Deadmau5: They’re free agents, they totally are.

Zane Lowe: Yeah. They do what they want. To see you with them to me was a real joy, because three of the greatest producer slash artists on the planet right now. So tell us about the experience, how it came to be, what the vibe was.

Deadmau5: Honestly, it was just out of the tracking, that’s actually the track without Pharrell singing on it and all that stuff. It’s actually been kicking around for five years, just sitting in my burner pile of ideas and stuff. I caught wind of them, “Hey, we’re getting the band back together,” thing last year. I thought, “Well, hey, let me go through my spank tank of stuff and see if anything catches your ear.”

Pharrell had to listen to that old demo, which was originally titled “Rupert.” So, I played it to him and he had a head nod. He said, “I’ll tell you what, I’m in Miami. If we met up in the studio…” I’ve had some interactions with Pharrell in the past, it wasn’t that awkward, “Oh, what’s he like?” when you’re going to work with him.

There was some already some familiarity there. I’ve never met Chad, though. He’s so talented, that guy, just as a musician, even just bring a moog into the studio and just let them Rick Wakeman the thing to death.

Zane Lowe: It’s a great story about how the synth line of “Drop It Like It’s Hot” came to be, and how the synths were all live and they were playing it back to Chad for the first time. He just walked up and said, “Hit record while it’s playing back. Record that channel.” He did that line once and once only, and then walked out.

Deadmau5: Yeah, get her done. I like it.

Zane Lowe: Yeah, me too. For you, what was the key differences in the way that you work, that you appreciated that you saw that’s different to them and different to you? Cause I’m sure there were a tone, but what was one that really stood out for you?

Deadmau5: Well, when we were in Miami… My end, like I said, was more or less conceptualized and printed out and roughed in. So, there was really nothing I could do except for to sit in the back and crack jokes and that’s about it, and just watch them do their thing, which was amazing. Because Pharrell’s a busy guy. He literally walks into the studio, walks behind the mic, played the track and then just starts humming out word vomit. I was like, “Why isn’t anyone recording this right now?” But then I’m thinking like, “Wait a minute. It’s not like he can’t do this again, so just let him do his thing.” He got halfway through with no writing, obviously. He’s like, “Yeah, we should do this, we should do that.” I was like, “Okay.”

So, the collaboration, I think really happens between everyone in the sense that they already know how to do their own thing and they do it. It’s not a democracy where it’s me liking this and him liking that. You do you, I’ll do me. I’ve already done me. Then, Chad will do Chad, and then that is the collaboration. It’s bringing those elements together, not so much as inventing on the fly.

deadmau5 Tells Apple music about his connection to Foo Fighters and Dave Grohl…

The Foo Fighters connection is, I don’t know. I’ve had so many random run-ins with Dave Grohl, not even like in working things, but just more like we’re playing the same festivals a lot. We had a lot of mutual friends when I was in LA and stuff. So, we’d see each other out and about. And he’s just such a funny guy.

deadmau5 Tells Apple Music about the connection between Heavy Metal and Dance Music…

deadmau5: That was our clique in high school, man. We were all about the death metal.

Zane Lowe: It’s some of the biggest names in dance music all share that in common. What is the common thread between that dynamic of the heavy sh*t that found its way into dance music, do you think?

deadmau5: I think it’s the adversity of the mainstream. You know, I feel like we all just listened to heavy metal because we all just wanted to really annoy our parents and teachers and everyone else who was kind of part of the pop culture vibe when we were kids, you know? Not to say we were going to use this when we’re grown up and we’re all big EDM superstars. We had no idea. We didn’t care. We just liked the adversity of the sound in terms of what was the mainstream.

deadmau5 tells Apple Music about Portugal. The Man…

I’ve worked with John on a project recently with him and his cohorts have band stuff and having done… I’m just like everyone else, I’ve only heard of them after their breakouts kind of thing and then followed it up.

But what got me interested in his ability was his range and then how organic the band really is in terms of how they’re able to just basic campfiring and do their thing and produce a really great sound. It’s the one band that sounds both good if you were just sitting in the living room and they were hitting tambourines and being on stage or being produced. There’s no disconnect between the two.

deadmau5 tells Apple Music about approaching music analytically versus emotionally…

deadmau5: Again, I have an analytical mind when it comes to music so I’m never listening for a feeling, I’m listening and I’m hearing, what synth is that? It’s like going to an art museum and then being a person whose specifically 24/7 job is to analyze paint compounds. It’s weird for me.

Zane Lowe: Do you get feeling from your own music? When you finish something, do you get a sense of an emotion?

deadmau5: For me, it’s a journey of trying to sonically craft something that is interesting to the ear and the mind and the connection between the two, as opposed to going for a feeling.

Zane Lowe: Why did you choose to go into music and make it your ultimately a big part of your life’s work as opposed to something that you perhaps had an emotional reaction to, a feeling to, why music?

deadmau5: Because it was the thing I learned first. Honestly, in the same parallel with the same thinking and the same kind of mindset, the way I think, creating film or screenplay writing and stuff like that could have all been there. …or a screenplay writing and stuff like that, could have all been in this same vein. I could have done that. Because if you want to express a feeling or express a mood or convey feelings into people, actually film would have been way easier to do that. But that’s good. But that’s good because that’s what music does. It’s unique to the listener. It’s not me barking down the pipe to say, “Hey, I need you to feel a certain way.”

deadmau5 tells Apple Music about Kraftwerk…

Zane Lowe: Kraftwerk did that so well. Kraftwerk were a band that influenced everything. They’re in everything. I never felt with Kraftwerk, though, that I was getting an emotional reaction from people who were emotional making the music. And further to what you said before, I wonder if you recognized that in them?

deadmau5: I can’t speak for him, but I think that was the point, to be the anti emotional reaction and be like, “Well, we’re not trying to say, create a community of robots, in a manner of speaking, that people can come have some kind of emotional attachment to, or these machines that convey a certain sense of human traits, like identity or emotion or expressiveness.” I think they were like the nihilists, trying to say that the soulless nameless faceless identity makes a sound and this is what it is. And don’t you dare try to pin this a feeling around it. I mean that would be one way to look at it.

deadmau5 tells Apple Music about Wolfgang Gartner…

Zane Lowe: Watch out, we’re getting into big banger territory here. This is probably one of the closest things in this playlist that we’ve got to, to an EDM classic, Illmerica by Wolfgang Gartner. This is like a big monstrous EDM moment, isn’t it? Let’s just not even going to apologize here.

deadmau5: It was proto animal rights. It was the prototype for that. And then he ended up taking it, he’s like, “Yeah, since I did most of the work and it’s pretty much already done, I’m just going to put it out.” And I was like, “Yeah, you do you, man.” Was swearing him up and down after that.

Zane Lowe: So why are we playing it then?

deadmau5: Because Wolfgang in his moment, man. That dude, he’s been through so much, really, in his personal life, I’m sure. But like for him to just pull this together and banger after banger after banger and then- And then we connected and we did a couple tracks together. And it was a good time.

deadmau5 tells Apple Music about working with Trent Reznor…

You said one of the most terrifying people to collaborate with, just in the sense of how can you enhance this? How can you improve this? How can you speak on it? It’s like, wow, what do you do with this? It’s good. It’s done. It’s blessed. It’s that, it is what it is. So to only make a derivative work of it would almost be making fun of it. And you don’t want to do that. So that’s what that was. And of course we’ve had a few face to face meetings at the time, and not to say we got into deep discussion about our messages as people and how we want to convey our messages.

It was just like he’s one of the few people that I can count on one hand that I say, “You do you,” and I can’t contribute to that. I don’t want to contribute to that. I think he really liked my Twitter jokes. Because it was almost kind of the first topics when we actually met in person at Mel’s Diner, of all places. It was kind of the first thing you brought me. He’s like, “Man, you’re a ride on Twitter.” I’m like, “Oh, okay.” Well, maybe that was the connection then.

deadmau5 tells Apple Music about listening to younger artists…

No. I can see it, and I’m seeing it now as I’m getting older in my career is now me listening to younger artists. I see a lot of or hear a lot of me in them, and sometimes that attracts me to them but other times it repels me completely. There’s a fine line between hearing what they’ve taken away from you and then hearing what they’ve completely ripped off of you. It’s a big gray line. So you could say, that exact same body of work, you could either decide that they’re ripping you off or they’re heavily inspired by you.

deadmau5 tells Apple Music why Richie Horton is the embodiment of Techno…

He’s been influential in the sense of local guy from my area where I grew up and he was kind of the ringleader of all things techno in terms of the community. We’re talking late ’90s, early 2000 rave community kind of thing. He was techno embodiment and it’s like you could have sworn this guy was from Berlin but he’s from Windsor, Ontario. Look, there’s this embodiment of technology and it’s this guy. I swear he was the casting figure for the nihilists in the Big Lebowski. He’s the guy. So I thought, wow, that’s sterile as f*ck. I like it, and I love this sterile sound. And then as I investigated him as a performer and as a producer, you start to dig a little deeper about how technologically influenced he is and how he’s really reaching out and then exploring new methods to do things.

And that extends into his music, into his live shows, especially where he’s incorporating just out there technology or really obscure protocols to perform. Because he’s always had the same problem I’ve had, that not a lot of DJs today have, which is, how do I do this on stage that doesn’t involve me playing a record at the same speed of another record? That is a huge question, and he’s done many things to answer that so that he was really a moving force in my upbringing, musically and performance wise. It’s like, okay, nothing’s stopping me from showing up in the USB key, really, but, man, I would love to make this a little more technically immersive in a way that I could showcase that and other people would understand that it’s technically immersive.

deadmau5 tells Apple Music about becoming an EDM Boomer and sharing his Secret Playlist…

deadmau5: If anyone ever asked me, what kind of music do you listen to? I would easily point to this because this is something I can listen to while I work or while I’m just hanging out or whatever. I don’t put it on when we have dinner guests or whatever.

Zane Lowe: You have dinner guests?

deadmau5: Kelly has dinner guests. I make PAs. I come in and, “Hi. Okay, I’m going to be in the pool house. If you need anything, just let me know. If you can’t get the Sonos system working, just give me a shout or whatever.”

Zane Lowe: Got it.

deadmau5: So techno, that’s what I like to still hang on as to what is techno. I always techno and I’m like, “All right. Okay, well, okay, boomer.” That’s like boomer techno. But, I mean, my boomer techno is Rrose and all that stuff. And that’s the stuff that I like. The no fucks given, I’m just so pure into this kind of thing. And I almost feel bad for advocating it because now it’s my secret playlist is out and everyone really knows. And then those people get discovered and it’s good for them because it supports them as artists too.

Zane Lowe: And you’ve given it to a loving pair of hands. We’re happy to share. And now we have the okay boomer disclaimer so you’re covered as well.

deadmau5: I’m an EDM boomer. I’m totally an EDM boomer by now, for sure.

Zane Lowe: I just needed one headline for DJ mag and you finally gave it to me. We’re done.

Tomorrowland is looking for a major comeback in 2021 with 3 weekends edition

Can you handle 3 weekends of Tomorrowland? World’s best dance music festival is looking for a major comeback in 2021 after they have had to postpone their 2020 edition due to Coronavirus ourbreak— with, potentially, three weekends next summer!

The organisers behind Belgium’s dance music jewel have told Belgian newspaper, Gazet Van Antwerpen, that a third weekend could happen in 2021. The People Of Tomorrow are already super excited and are hoping this will be officially confirmed, as scoring a ticket has become even more of a challenge due to the festival’s growth.

Tomorrowland festival would first need to obtain approval from local authorities in the region of Antwerp to proceed with the three weekend festivities, which will be no easy feat.

Here’s what Tomorrowland spokesperson, Debby Wilmsen had to say about this:

“A third weekend Tomorrowland could be a solution for everyone involved to make up for the completely lost 2020 season and all [of] its consequences, but…nothing has been discussed or decided yet. In any case, we are waiting to see how the situation will evolve in the coming months. Like governments, we cannot see very far into the future at the moment.”

Currently, Tomorrowland is directing all their efforts towards their first ever digital festival “Tomorrowland Around The World” that was announced last week, and will take place Saturday July 25 and Sunday July 26 2020, as this year’s edition “The Reflection Of Love” is postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Confirmed to be part of this astonishing digital festival are world-class artists such as Adam Beyer, Amelie LensArmin van BuurenCharlotte de Witte, David GuettaDimitri Vegas & Like MikeKölschLost FrequenciesMartin GarrixPaul KalkbrennerSteve AokiTale of UsTiëstoTimmy Trumpet and many more.

EXIT Festival unveils stellar lineup for its 20th anniversary this summer

Tale Of Us b2b Solomun at EXIT 2019

Amelie Lens, Black Coffee, Nina Kraviz, Paul Kalkbrenner, Tale Of Us, Robin Schulz and many more confirmed for EXIT festival this summer.

After the Serbian Prime Minister asked the EXIT festival not to cancel but move to August, the organizers are working round the clock to create a special and meaningful event for the 20th birthday edition.

With the dates set for EXIT to take place from 13 to 16 August, the first wave of more than 30 performers are announced including Amelie Lens, Black Coffee, Nina Kraviz, Paul Kalkbrenner, Boris Brejcha, Tale Of Us, Robin Schulz, Ofenbach and Laibach. Roni Size who headlined the festival 20 years ago, will also perform an exclusive B2B set with LTJ Bukem feat. EXIT resident MC Dynamite, to name a few. All artists will be coming together to play at one of the world’s best loved and award-winning festivals that started as a peace and freedom movement back in 2000.

When EXIT called for unity last November publishing a 2020 campaign that shows different races and ethnicities combined together in a single human face, no one could have predicted that it would be as relevant as it is today.

“With everything that is happening in the world today, the social message of EXIT, unfortunately, seems as important as it was 20 years ago. Back then we were exiting the oppressive regime and fighting for peace and freedom in Serbia and Balkans. Now, 20 years later, we wish to send a message of hope to the world that worst is behind us when the pandemic is concerned, but also stress that there is so much work we all need to do when the things like racial ineqalities or the destruction of our planet are concerned” – said founder and CEO of EXIT festival Dušan Kovačević.

Many of the leading music industry figures are naming this year’s festival edition as a “beacon of light” for the recovery for the event industry. Following all health and government guidelines, EXIT will open at least 20 stages and zones throughout the expansive Petrovaradin Fortress. One of the main precautionary measures, the number of attendees will be limited to 50%, in an area that can hold at least 90% of its usual capacity.

The Main Stage will be in its usual place on the central plateau of the Petrovaradin Fortress, ready to host spectacular performances by global and regional superstars such as Laibach, Robin Schulz, Roni Size b2b LTJ Bukem feat. Dynamite MC, Ofenbach, Burak Yeter, DJ Regard and many more to be announced. All of them will be joined by the region’s finest bands such as Obojeni Program, Buč Kesidi, Massimo, Goblini, and many more who will be just as interesting replacements for some of the many live tours that are no longer available to book before 2021.

Festival’s energetic hub, the colossal mts Dance Arena, which according to many is the most spectacular electronic music stage on Earth, will host some of the world’s biggest artists including Black Coffee, Nina Kraviz, Amelie Lens, Paul Kalkbrenner, Denis Sulta, Boris Brejcha, Tale Of Us, ARTBAT, Dax J, Kobosil, DJ Tennis, Meduza , Marko Nastić, After Affair b2b Kristijan Molnar, Andrew Meller, Lag b2b Insolate, Ilija Djokovic, Coeus, Space Motion, Reblok and many more.

It’s that special moment when the sun’s rays shine over the fortress walls and your favorite tune is belting through the sound system and into your soul, which will once again make the festival experience unforgettable yet again.

The neighbouring No Sleep Novi Sad stage, that gained incredible international praise in the past five years, leading to the launch of its own festival in Belgrade each November, returns in August with its first acts such as Juliana Huxtable, Francois X, Marcel Dettmann, VTSS b2b SPFDJ, 999999999 Live, Monosaccharide, Bokee and many more to follow in the coming days.

In addition to the biggest stages, EXIT magic would not be possible without several iconic stages such as Latino Stage, hip-hop fans favourite Beats Stage, drum and bass music spot XBass Pit stage. Another stage showcasing the local and regional DJ scene Urban Bug, will also be present this year as will AS FM powered by Guarana and Gaia eXperiment Trance.

In addition to leisure and refreshment zones, a special place this year will be occupied by Pachamama zone, while the historical meeting place, for this year’s special edition, will be the Wenti Wadada Reggae Stage.

More artists will be joining the bill over the coming weeks, while the organizers prepare the festival in cooperation with the National Health Department of the Government of Serbia. Serbia, like many other European countries, has already reopened its borders with no limits or PCR tests needed anymore, so people from all around Europe will be able to come to the festival.

If by any chance there is an epidemic outbreak in some countries in August, visitors coming from that particular country will go through quick PCR tests which will be either completely free or very low priced.

Dance music legend MK is the latest artist to remix the HOSH & 1979 smash ‘Midnight (The Hanging Tree)’.

A sunkissed, carefree club banger, MK‘s remix of ‘Midnight (The Hanging Tree)‘ trades in the more emotive elements of the original for blissful summer energy – a vibe that’s destined to soundtrack countless post-lockdown open-air parties.

MK says “It’s always fun to do your own take on a record you like, by an artist you respect. That definitely was the case with HOSH’s “Midnight.” Funnily enough, I usually worked on the remix around midnight haha. Hope everyone likes it.

The masterful track has so far amassed 13.8 million streams on Spotify alone and currently sits at #76 on the Global Shazam chart. First released exclusively on Beatport via HOSH‘s fryhide label, it reached #1 in Melodic House and Techno Tracks playlist and #2 in the main Beatport Chart, as well as receiving strong support from BBC Radio 1 A list, Capital Radio UK, and reaching Top 40 US Dance airplay. The legendary Pete Tong named the track the first ‘Essential New Tune’ of the decade.

With over six hundred million career streams accumulated, MK is one of the most idolized figures from the world of dance music. With over 30 years in the game, he is best known for the gold-selling ‘Back & Forth‘ and 2017 single ‘17‘ which has sold more than one million copies in the UK alone. ’17’ was preceded by ‘Piece of Me‘ in 2016, another platinum-selling record to add to MK‘s pile of growing accolades.

The MK remix of ‘Midnight (The Hanging Tree)’ takes us into the summer of 2020, with outdoor music festivals and the terraces of Ibiza in mind.

Some of the world’s best artists in future bass, dubstep and trap music – Carnage, Eptic, Gryffin, Netsky, NGHTMRE, San Holo and Yellow Claw – will gather at one of the brand new stages.

Here’s what some of the artists set to perform at Tomorrowland Around The World had to say about this brand new concept by the world’s best music festival:

Dimitri Vegas: “We’ve deliberately been holding out on doing livestreams as we wanted this to be really special. We had the opportunity to see the stage designs of the digital festival and it will be nothing like the world has ever seen. It’s truly an immersive and unique experience and surpasses any expectations someone can have when they hear the term ‘virtual festival’. People are just not ready for what they are about to see. We can’t wait!

Armin van Buuren: “Tomorrowland Around the World is a great opportunity for me to connect with my fans during these lockdown times and I hope that this will help everyone to hold on for a bit longer until we can party together on actual festival grounds again! Very delighted to be part of this ground-breaking event.

Steve Aoki: “Tomorrowland is always a special festival for me so I’m very honoured to be a part of Tomorrowland’s digital festival that will be uniting so many people from around the world in a way that hasn’t been done before. The connection between amazing music, breath-taking 3D design and the latest filming techniques from Hollywood get me extremely excited!

Paul Kalkbrenner: “I’m very honoured to be part of this exciting new project and I’m thrilled to see the outcome, once it airs. Tomorrowland and its crew have always played an integral role throughout the last years and it has become more of a friendship than a pure work relation. Thanks for having me again on the Mainstage.

Amelie Lens: “I am very excited to be playing at the biggest digital festival ever. I’ve heard that hundreds of people are currently working day and night to create a never before seen experience, so I honestly cannot wait for the last weekend of July.

Festival visitors will be able to navigate easily through a magical and newly created Tomorrowland location with a PC, laptop, smartphone or tablet – you don’t need special VR goggles – and explore the entire festival site in an interactive way together with friends.

Besides the performances there will be all kinds of interactive experiences to choose from, including inspirational webinars, games and workshops related to lifestyle, food, fashion and the Tomorrowland Foundation.

Together with the performances, Tomorrowland Around the World will be a full day/weekend experience between 15h00–01h00 CEST. There will be a ‘time-zone-friendly’ option for visitors from Asia and North or South America.

The People of Tomorrow are invited to experience this unique event together with friends: dressing up with your best festival outfit, putting up tents in your back garden to create your own DreamVille, setting up a big screen, inviting your beloved ones for a nice barbecue with music and an amazing festival experience, decorating your balcony or throwing a party in your living room – this weekend is all about uniting through the power of music in a responsible and safe way.

Prepare for a magical summer with Tomorrowland Around The World!

Ticket sales start on Thursday June 18 via tomorrowland.com Day ticket costs €12.50. Weekend ticket costs €20.00 and includes a week of video-on-demand content to relive the entire experience.

Sir Ivan is helping out-of-work DJ’s with a MegaMix Competition and a donation of $10,000

International recording artist Sir Ivan, aka Peaceman, has been fighting a decades-long campaign to spread his message of peace, love, unity and respect on a journey that has circled the globe numerous times.

While normally, Peaceman is fighting for world peace, he also realizes that peace-of-mind during a financially-impacting crisis is also something that he could step up and help with.

So in true Peaceman form, Sir Ivan has come up with a MegaMix competition to help the out-of-work, up and coming DJ’s that are being negatively impacted by the pandemic. The competition will be extended to DJ’s all over the globe and will run from Monday, June 8th until Wednesday, July 1st.

Sir Ivan will personally be making a $10,000 contribution to this cause in the form of a $5,000 donation to Insomniac’s “Rave Recovery” fund. He will also award an additional $5,000 cash to the top five winners of the competition.

On board with this project are their esteemed A-list DJ panel of judges, which is quite an epic line-up of some of the world’s finest dance music talents – Paul Oakenfold, Bassjackers, DJs From Mars, Tenishia, and Exodus.

Contestants will be tasked with promoting their mixes to as many fans as possible and get them to vote for their mix, to become a finalist. Once they close the contest, they will pass off the top 20 most voted to their panel of judges where they will rank their favorites and provide Sir Ivan with a collective top 10, which makes up the top five cash winners ($1,000 each) and five runners-up, that will receive some quite valuable prizes from their sponsors.

The sponsored prizes to be distributed to the winners include: signed copies of the 4th edition of the legendary ‘The Dance Music Manual’; a project with Peak Hour Music; a publicity package from Matt Caldwell PR; and interviews and guest mix opportunities on EDM Sessions Radio.

Ten of the most creative and talented DJs on the planet, reading this right now, are just a few weeks away from a real positive boost to their 2020, both financially and creatively as a musician. Best of luck from all involved and we can’t wait to hear all of your awesome mixes and most importantly – get some financial aid to a handful of talented, up and coming DJ’s that need a little extra helping hand through this global crisis.

Chaim remixes dOP’s critically acclaimed ‘Heart Signs’

Chaim

Following a brace of eclectic releases on BMG and Gardens of Bablyon over the past few weeks, prolific Tel Aviv-based producer Chaim continues his exceptional run of 2020 form, as he now takes on dOP’s critically acclaimed ‘Heart Signs’ to deliver his third impressive remix in as many weeks.

Making his eagerly-anticipated debut on Eleatic Records, Chaim’s remix of ‘Heart Signs‘ is an exquisite interpretation of the original, complete with repetitive sharp synthesizer leads, crunchy percussions and mystic delays of Jaw’s inimitable vocals giving the cut a feeling of the abrupt and unexpected.

The ethereal release follows two recent remixes from the Israeli producer, whose interpretations of David BrozaTears for Barcelona and GejuPrazdnost’ continue to make waves across playlists and soundsystems the world over.

With a stack for new unreleased tracks due for release over the next few months, Chaim is excited to explore new immersive experiences with music over the course of 2020 and beyond. An artist bound by no genre, but rather feelings of liberation and joy, Chaim creates music that is truly universal.
