With his remix, Yotto showcases his experimental side with a brooding, highly atmospheric update which evokes fond memories of dimly lit dancefloors well into the early hours.

On Yotto’s remix of ‘I Need SomeoneFaithless said:

Yotto delivers a masterclass in deep, brooding hypnotic grooves. Nestling in a bed of swelling analogue pads and fluttering electronic flourishes. What a joy! Nathan Ball’s vocal shines with almost religious intensity. With a massive string-led breakdown, to us this remix feels like a sun coming up moment…and then some!

I Need Someone’ is the second single to be taken from Faithless ‘All Blessed’, their first studio LP in 10 years, out now on BMG and winning rave reviews from press and fans alike. KAS:ST Release Stunning New Music Video for ‘Hold Me To The Light’

KAS:ST
Kas:st

Fresh off the back of their A Magic World album, vital dance duo KAS:ST is back with a third stunning new music video. ‘Hold Me To The Light’ lands exactly one year after the music industry ground to a halt due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and is a timely reminder of how sorely missed that sense of dance floor unity really is.

This new video from the French duo and Flyance Records owners – written and directed by Urban Film Festival Award 2019 winners Kevin Gay and Henri Coutant – is an ode to the hedonists and nightlife lovers, nocturnal party people and the diverse mix of dancers who make up the underground music scene.

It takes you to the heart of various parties with fantastically styled and dressed-up characters, mesmeric light shows and cascades of confetti that all drop you right to the middle of a party at the peak of the night.

The track it accompanies was one of the biggest melodic tunes of 2019 and 2020, and it comes on the heels of ‘VTOPIA‘, which landed in November and, along with the first in the series, has already amassed a total of more than six million views.

KAS:ST make music with dramatic breakdowns and big melodic highs. They bring the emotional elements of trance and their own grandiose grooves to labels like Afterlife, and amplify each tune with rich production, as showcased in this new video once more.

This is another wonderful window into the world of KAS:ST and a momentary escape back to better times.

UNUM Festival finalises headliners for 2021 edition

UNUM Festival

Europe’s most exciting new underground event just got even better as UNUM Festival 2021 adds a pair of standout headliners in Sven Väth and Ben Klock, plus Mathew Jonson, Dana Ruh, Tobi Neumann and more global greats.

On top of this come 15 talented and local stars who are quickly on the rise, and forward-thinking partnerships with iconic brands like Sunwaves, Modernity, Club Der Visionaere, Nordsten, and sCs, plus a guarantee from the Albanian Ministries of Tourism, Environment, and Health that the event will go ahead this year from June 3rd – 7th.

UNUM has already cemented itself amongst the European elite for a number of reasons – the close-knit first edition was a memorable gathering of real music lovers in an upcoming region of the world. The festival really shined a spotlight on Rana e Hedhun, the last untapped corner of Europe in the town of Shengjin, on the idyllic Albanian coastline. It is a rare natural, organic and uncommercialised setting that allows for non stop music night and day, plus sunrise and sunset parties, beach parties, water sports, plenty of local culture, food and drink offerings as well as isolated bays and gold sand beaches to explore.

This year the bar will be raised again with the news that world class clubs and promotions will line up as partners. Each of these collectives will bring their own special know how and sense of underground style to UNUM and include cult Romanian techno festival Sunwaves, the unique party in the Alps that is Modernity, Berlin’s underground haven Club Der Visionaere plus the River Rhine‘s floating nightclub Nordsten and more.

Now also playing across the five days of enchanting and escapist hedonism will be techno pioneers like Cocoon‘s Sven Vath and Berghain‘s own Ben Klock, plus the always essential master of his machines that is Mathew Jonson plus deep house’s finest Dana Ruh, Cocoon‘s long time tastemaker Tobi Neumann as well as Manu Gonzalez, Jamie Roy, Andy Luff, Colin Chiddle and over 15 local artists who bring their own distinctive house and techno flavours and perspectives.

Already announced are the likes of Ricardo Villalobos, Priku, Praslea, tINI, Sonja Moonear, Shaun Reeves, Raresh, Cesar Merveille, Dyed Soundorom, Leon and more.

Ferry Corsten provides hope with heady new single ‘High On You’ (ft. Maria Marcus)

Ferry Corsten

Ferry Corsten has committed extended periods recently creatively exploring new ways to tie his wide breadth of musical influences into his music. His first single of 2021, ‘High On You’, features the vocal talent of Maria Marcus, is a true testament to the development of his artistry.

Last year saw various projects, including his ambient album ‘As Above So Below‘ under the FERR alias and the breakbeat-fuelled ‘Black Lion‘ with Ejeca’s Trance Wax alias and most recently the melodic techno-leaning ‘I Don’t Need You‘. Ferry‘s latest offering is a breaky, garage-tinged number that represents a perfect balance of the sounds that inspire him, as he continues to break new ground and demonstrate why he’s been able to stay ahead of the curve throughout his long and distinguished career.

Ferry hits the sweet spot with ‘High On You‘, combining the electronic sensibilities underpinning all his music with his love of atmospheric cinematics. Of which is highlighted by the exquisite strings and piano accompaniments that see Ferry delving deeper into his musicality to provide the perfect soundbed for Maria Marcus‘ vocals to shine through.

On ‘High On You‘, Ferry said: “I’m very excited about this release because it is way out of my comfort zone. I’ve always been a big fan of the mid 90’s UK breaks sound. Combining that with the beauty of orchestral instruments is a very fresh take on music for me. It was an absolute pleasure to work with Maria on this song. The way she builds the track towards the end with all the various harmonies and layers is just incredible.

Maximising all this extra time in the studio, Ferry has taken new approaches to his music and used it to explore different sound structures. With his latest single, the hopeful ‘High On You‘, Ferry has crafted a track that strikes the perfect balance between songwriting and rhythm. Lending itself to a broader diversity in sound that it is just as likely to be heard on the radio as it is in DJ sets over the coming months.

2021 looks set to see more innovative and refreshing new music from an artist that continues to carve out his niche in the electronic music space.

Joe Goddard and Franky Rizardo reveal brand new ollaboration ‘No Judgement’

Franky Rizardo

In a plan to bring artists together during these last unconventional 12 months, BBC Radio 1’s Danny Howard launched the ‘Lockdown Link Up’ on his Friday night show.

Pairing up artists & producers at random, Franky Rizardo and Joe Goddard were two out of sixteen dually selected to collaborate on a production during their time in isolation. Now, as the track has progressed it is being officially released on the renowned FFRR as ‘No Judgement‘, out today.

As two of electronic music’s most current & established artists, Franky Rizardo and Joe Goddard deliver a melodic electronic ballad with a crunchy bass that progresses beautifully around a strong and emotive vocal.

Long established as an international touring artist as well as a name firmly engrained within his own country, promoted his LTF brand across global festivals such as Tomorrowland and had individual appearances at ANTS, elrow and more. Consistently aiming to do his own thing Franky has hosted shows on both Amsterdam’s SLAM! Radio station and London’s Rinse FM. Carl Cox drops stunning remix of BreakCode’s ‘What Lies Beneath’

Carl Cox

After an eventful year in unprecedented times, the undisputed king of techno Carl Cox is back with an outstanding remix of the rising London-based electronic live act BreakCode’s ‘What Lies Beneath’ on 26th February2021.

Described as a ‘full assault on your musical senses’, the original was first released late 2019 and blended pounding techno drums with breaks, eerie eastern promise sounds and a mental acid line. As if the track wasn’t already hot enough, Carl has added even more fuel to the fire by cranking up the tempo, adding extra layers of percussion and synth alongside a wealth of bass frequencies to deliver one of his best remixes to date.

Carl‘s been a solid supporter of BreakCode‘s music since its inception and says: “BreakCode is making some seriously mental music, creating it more like a band would instead of a DJ. I supported it all last year since its inception and it was amazing to put my own take on such a great idea for a different track that seriously stands out amongst the rest.

Aside from Carl, the track has also garnered support from other leading DJs such as Eats Everything, Enrico Sanguillano, Tiesto and Hardwell amongst others.

Julian Jordan and Guy Arthur team up on summer-ready new track ‘Let Me Be The One’

Julian Jordan
Julian Jordan

After claiming the first spot on Beatport’s Top Electro House Chart last year and kicking off 2021 with the sharp and aggressive basslines of ‘Big Bad Bass’, Julian Jordan is finally back with a radio-friendly gem in collaboration with fellow STMPD producer Guy Arthur.

Spinning synths and grave melancholy piano chords combined with an echoing topline start off the track, which is soon joined by upbeat chiming beats and propelled into a palpitating bridge.

Rubbery bass throbs underline the pitched and distorted vocals of the drop making for an even more thumping beat and contrast with the softer verse that follows. A final acceleration elevates into the final drop to end the song on a boisterous note.

Guy Arthur remixed Julian Jordan‘s ‘Love You Better’ last year and the two decided to now fully collaborate to bring the world the enticing and fiery ‘Let Me Be The One‘.

Nicole Moudaber enlists club icon Alan T for new EP ‘The Volume’

Nicole Moudaber

With the world’s live music scene at a seemingly-continuous standstill, one of electronic music’s most iconic figures, Nicole Moudaber, has been hard at work behind closed doors in her pursuit to keep the industry’s spirits alive and thriving.

Enlisting the help of legendary door picker and dear friend Alan T, Nicole delivers her brand new EP The Volume. Representing some of her most liberally untethered work to date, the 2-track opus echoes a tenacious dedication to both her craft and the circuit in which its home to – The Volume EP is out now on her own MOOD Records.

Opening with The Volume, Nicole lays a foundation of groove-induced percussive elements, reflective of her mastery for House music. Alan T’s seductive vocal offering enters the space, transcending the listener to the dark, smoky dancefloors the cut so desperately craves. Above a continuous airy soundscape, the track journeys through intoxicating highs and reflective breaks, evoking a notion of deep nostalgia and yearning.

It is this harmonious contrast of sharp percussion and melodic bliss that establishes such hypnotic fluidity and makes this one of the most exciting additions to Nicole’s extensive discography, which now only grows to hold more future classics.

With our eyes already closed in rapture, the EP’s B-side The Music Is Mine begins, presenting a gritty pulsating kick with incentivising off-beat licks. Alan T and Nicole’s vocal chopped trills and stabs make their entrance, oscillating in volume and intensity with a delirious flair that permeates the senses. Although decorated with intricate sound design elements, the track’s core motive is raw and relatable, conducive to euphoric club experiences and free expression.

Alan T stands as a key ambassador for Miami’s underground scene following his many years of service to its distinguished venue, Club Space. The duo met during Winter Music Conference in the early 2000’s and found themselves reconvening on the dance floor ever since.

“Alan IS Miami, basically,” Moudaber exclaims, “people would go to Club Space just to see him.” Profoundly knowledgeable in all things club culture, the former architect is a visual artist, larger than life cultural icon, progressive fashion guru and everything in between. Having already dabbled in production back in 1996 when he lent his persona and voice to Circuit’s Boy’s dance anthem ‘The Door’, his contribution to Moudaber’s ‘The Volume’ is a much coveted resurgence for Tibaldeo, whose multifaceted talents know no bounds.

Restless in her forward momentum and pursuit of new sounds, Nicole Moudaber has ensured her relevancy in a fast-changing techno landscape and continues to lead the circuit into new territories with her unique perspective on the genre. Facilitating such a lucrative collaboration between two of the scene’s most compelling characters from either side of the booth, Nicole has once again provided us with a level of artistry that goes above and beyond that of her peers.

Having just released a dedicated International Women’s Day episode of In The MOOD Radio, which features remixes from Sevdaliza, Rosalía, TSHA, Logic1000, Lauren Flaz, ANZ and Peaches, Nicole now looks ahead to her award-winning radio show’s 7th Anniversary, which will be celebrated with a special livestream.
