The world had to miss the majestic chin cushion and refined musical taste of one of its most well-groomed labels for a while, but The Bearded Man is making his hotly anticipated return after a one-year hiatus.

Armed with a batch of new tunes – this includes the 2021 edit of Nicolas Haelg and Marie Beeckman‘s ‘Gravity‘ and a brand-new ‘Best Of‘ album that highlights the hits of old, the label rises again to offer dance music lovers a step-by-step guide to making this new year the best one yet.

Signaling the return of The Bearded Man with his offering, Nicolas Haelg comes up trumps with a fresh version of his 2015 release. With added funk feel and more uptempo grooves underlining the soulful vibes and authentic vocals of Marie Beeckman, this 2021 edit of ‘Gravity‘ is designed to pulls listeners in big time as it coincides with the revival of the label he released the original song on five years back.

Nicolas Haelg: “Even five years after its original release, I still receive massive feedback on my track ‘Gravity’. It’s one of my most streamed tracks across platforms, and I was always a bit disturbed about the kick not being perfect. I always wanted to go back in time and use a softer one, especially when the track got placed in so many playlists.

So when I heard about the label relaunch of The Bearded Man, which by the way pushed me hard and helped me build a lot of momentum for my song ‘Something Good’ back in 2015, I was more than happy to play my part with a new version of ‘Gravity’. Hope you guys dig it.

Running from its launch in 2014 to the start of its one-year hiatus at the end of 2019, The Bearded Man has seen its fair share of global hits and viral tracks in its first five-year period, garnering over 1.5 billion streams through the tracks released on the imprint.

Among those were internationally acclaimed records such as Lost Frequencies‘ ‘Are You With Me‘ (38x platinum worldwide) and ‘Reality‘ (19x platinum worldwide), Dennis Kruissen‘s viral Tiktok hit ‘Falling In Love‘ and DIMMI & ZEEBA‘s gold-certified ‘Found U‘, as well as singles from Kav Verhouzer (‘Get What You Came For‘) and Harold van Lennep (‘Liberation’) that racked up tens of millions of plays across the most popular streaming platforms. All of these tracks can be found on the ‘The Best Of The Bearded Man‘ album.

Maykel Piron, CEO Armada Music: “The Bearded Man has always been one of our most colorful labels and we’re super excited to see it making its return to the scene. We feel that the label’s upbeat vibes and lighthearted attitude are especially welcome in times like these and truly believe that the best way to start off this revival is with a track as infectious and positive as this 2021 edit of Nicolas Haelg and Marie Beeckman’s ‘Gravity’.

Disciples drop official video for ‘I Got You’ + remix by Ben Hemsley

Platinum-selling dance music favourites Disciples have unveiled the official video for their latest single ‘I Got You’, alongside an incredible remix of the track delivered by Ben Hemsley.

A captivating modern love story, ‘I Got You‘ tells the tale of two colleagues-cum-lovers as they navigate the honeymoon period of their relationship – a perfect visual accompaniment to the track’s lyrical content. When describing the video, Disciples said :

We don’t like dance videos. They normally feel generic and played out but when the director came up with this idea of a movie trailer for a coming-of-age story set in LA, we thought it was genius. We want the viewer to escape from what’s going on in the world just for a moment. Watching the trailer unfold makes you want to see the full movie

The Ben Hemsley remix of ‘I Got You‘ sees the exciting young talent deliver an acid-tinged, rave-ready take on the track, combining a pulsating 303 bassline and euphoric breakdown with the scintillating vocals of the original. It follows a remix from Berlin DJ and producer CINTHIE and an acoustic version that saw Disciples vocalist Duvall deliver an emotion-tinged live performance of the track.

Ben Hemsley is rapidly establishing himself as one of the most exciting new talents in house music, mentored by his close friend Patrick Topping and already performing alongside some of the scene’s heavy-hitters such as Green Velvet, Hot Since 82, KiNK, Alan Fitzpatrick and Skream. On the production front his music has found its way onto esteemed labels including Patrick Topping’s Trick, Positiva, Sola and many more, which have garnered support from Calvin Harris/Love Regenerator during his Defected live streams throughout 2020.

UK dance music behemoths Disciples have amassed over 1 billion combined streams and 2 billion YouTube views across their catalogue of music. With a plethora of infectious records under their belt, the trio have garnered consistent support across BBC Radio 1, Capital and Kiss FM.

The official video for ‘I Got You‘ expertly captures the vibe of the track itself, and paired with the remix from Ben Hemsley, Disciples are kicking off the new year in typically strong fashion.

Patrice Bäumel and Mark Höffen feature on new Worakls remix package

Mark Höffen and Patrice Bäumel have remixed the tracks ‘Hortari’ and ‘Detached Motion’, both taken from Worakls’ acclaimed 2019 album Orchestra.

French DJ and producer Mark Höffen steps up first, delivering an emotion-tinged, deeply atmospheric dancefloor journey that merges intense grooves and rich melodies with the orchestral elements of the original.

Amsterdam-based Patrice Bäumel follows with his fizzing, slow-burning take on ‘Detached Motion‘, one that builds in tension and club energy across its six-and-a-half minutes.

The remix package follows Berlin DJ and producer Ben Böhmer‘s similarly club-ready rework of the Worakls and Eivør single ‘Red Dressed‘, released at the tail-end of 2020. Not forgetting also Worakls collaborative single ‘Storm‘ with classical musician Rusanda Panfili, an intelligent mixture of emotive electronic sounds paired with orchestral and cinematic elements which came out on his own label Sonate.

Signed on tastemaker European labels such as Sinners, Atlant and Click Records, Mark Höffen is a passionate multidisciplinary producer who above all takes the time to understand music and his own inspirations before diving into an extremely accurate sound, loaded with emotions.

A Beatport chart-topping producer and renowned international DJ, Patrice Bäumel cut his teeth as a resident at the iconic Trouw club in his adopted home of Amsterdam. He has since released on lynchpin labels like Kompakt, Get Physical and Watergate.

Although famous for his countless electro-melodic releases and his vibrant live shows, Hungry Music co-founder Worakls is a composer above all. Raised in a family of musicians, he learned the piano at the age of three years old and then carried onwards to a full conservatory education – all before shifting towards the electronic music that he would become known for.

Steeped in perfectly measured dancefloor energy, Mark Höffen and Patrice Bäumel deliver exquisite remixes that maintain the orchestral beauty of the original tracks.

Sub Focus & Wilkinson link up with High Contrast for new version of ‘Freedom’

Sub Focus and Wilkinson have joined forces with fellow D&B titan High Contrast to release a versus remix of ‘Freedom’, out now via EMI.

Combining inspirational lyrics and the stunning vocals of British-Irish singer-songwriter Empara Mi, this new version of ‘Freedom‘ ramps up the club energy of the original, delivering a powerful yet emotion-tinged dancefloor weapon.

With stuttered vocals drenching the record in that vintage High Contrast sound, Sub Focus & Wilkinson keep things cutting edge with their exquisite amalgamation of each artist’s signature sonics, ensuring a devastatingly potent dancefloor record. A versus remix that whole heartedly ensures a levelled up version of their Portals anthem, this record will no doubt be a staple across dance floors, festivals and raves globally.

The original featured on Sub Focus and Wilkinson‘s acclaimed debut collaborative album Portals, recorded at Peter Gabriel‘s iconic Real World Studios, The album hit the #1 spot on the OCC Dance Albums chart in October, with tastemaker platform UKF describing it as “the truest album they could have created”.

Freedom‘ marks the latest chapter in this fruitful collaboration between two of UK dance music’s biggest stars.

Audiojack and Kevin Knapp make a return to Crosstown Rebels with Under Your Skin

With several collaborations already under their belt, including 2017’s esteemed Implications EP, Gruuv-bosses Audiojack and American-talent Kevin Knapp make a return to Crosstown Rebels in February with Under Your Skin.

The release, taken from Audiojack‘s forthcoming May album, includes a club edit of the single as well as a remix and dub version courtesy of Hessle Audio mainstay Pearson Sound.

Under Your Skin is about the subconscious manipulation that we experience every day, the subtle steering of our thoughts and decisions that often happens without our awareness. Whether it’s corporations trying to sell us stuff, the agenda spun rhetoric of the media or the propaganda mill of our governments, their intentions are the same; to gain trust, compliance and control.

Audiojack Under Your Skin

The club cut of Under Your Skin takes the lead, pairing punchy kick-hat combos against a tension-building breakdown before the hard-hitting four-four bassline is swiftly brought back in.

The single version comes next, taking no prisoners with a breakbeat backbone that brings Kevin‘s lyrics to the forefront, paving the way for UK-talent Pearson Sound as he serves up five minutes of glitchy, dancefloor-ready breaks on the main remix.

Rounding off the release is the Skeleton Dub, a stripped-back late-night creeper that showcases the UK-talent at his best.

Leeds-born Ibiza-based Audiojack have been carving out a unique sound for over a decade. Earning their stripes with several standout releases on 20:20 Vision in the late 2000s, it was in 2010 that the duo launched their own label, Gruuv, welcoming the likes of Bushwacka!, Pawsa and Josh Butler in recent years.

US-native Kevin Knapp is a leading figure in the contemporary house sphere, having cemented his standing as a true heavy-hitter with recent productions on Dirtybird and Repopulate Mars.

London-based Pearson Sound has established himself as a prolific producer over the years with an array of standout releases on Hessle Audio, including this summer’s Alien Mode, as well as on his own self-titled label.
