Universe presents Ibiza Soul Food – is a series of online events in support of the Ibiza Food Bank, which together with more than 250 volunteers, is delivering food to those in urgent need on the island.

The event series will be hosted exclusively in Woov, a virtual venue bringing fans together to enjoy live music experiences. The first edition will take place on December 12 with the legendary DJ and producer Carl Cox kicking off this great initiative.

Ibiza’s music scene has given so much to millions of people who visit the island each year and now it’s time to give something back to the people who help nurture the scene in a time when it’s most needed.

Ibiza Soul Food

It’s not only the bartenders, venue staff, promo teams on the ground, entertainers, hotel receptionists, sound & lighting teams who are without work but local families and thousands of businesses that depend on clubbing and tourism. Many of these people are struggling right now, many haven’t worked for over a year and life in Ibiza is becoming harder every day.

These are the people that have made clubbing experience what it was, the lifeblood of Ibiza, the people that create some of the best music events in the world and the islanders who welcome them and us every year to enjoy the Balearic magic.

Ibiza Soul Food is a new series of online events, supported by some of the names and brands that are synonymous with the White Isle, to help support the people of Ibiza through the winter. 100% of the money raised will be used to purchase coupons for fresh food such as meat, fish, eggs, and yoghurt. These will be given alongside weekly food parcels that are delivered and collected by 5000-6000 people every week in Ibiza.

Tina Browning is one of the coordinators of the Ibiza Food Bank and seeks help from all the artists and their fans to support the local people. “We are grateful to Universe and Woov to be able to announce the first in our series of online music events, Ibiza Soul Food and even more excited that one of the first DJ’s to step up to the plate and support us is the mighty Carl Cox alongside Bushwacka, Syreeta and Secret Society’s Mark Greene that are also supporting us“.

Carl Cox: “Ibiza has been a 2nd home to me for many years. The island is a breeding ground of creativity, amazing friendships and incredible people. Some of these people now need our help in these turbulent times and I’m super excited to be part of the first Ibiza Soul Food edition“.

Alon Shulman, CEO Universe: “2020 has been an extraordinary year and has made us all realise how fragile things can be. Being asked to help raise awareness and feed families in Ibiza is almost unimaginable which is why we stepped straight in and the first call was to the King, Carl Cox. Hopefully, Coxy’s example will encourage others to get onboard and for people to join in – after all its only £2 for four hours of music “.

Ida Engberg releases cosmic five-tracker EP ‘Return to Consciousness’

A vital member of the Truesoul and Drumcode family, we’ve been anticipating a production return from Ida Engberg for some time now. Not that she’s been busy settling into a new home in Ibiza and raising three children with Adam Beyer, she’s also been heavily involved in climate activism, social justice issues and animal protection.

Everything happens in perfect timing. And no one knows this better than Engberg; innately aware of the creative space and the time a project needs to bloom. A work almost 12 months in the making, ‘Return to Consciousness‘ is her transcendental five-track return to music creation.

Reverse Time (Intro)‘ is ritualistic in intent, a two-and-a-half-minute ambient opener that sets the tone for what’s to come. The title track is sublime cosmic house, brought to life by lush pads, swirling arpeggios in the break and a delicate vocal that amplifies its message. ‘House of Colours‘ is a delicious tribal roller, driven by a chanting vocal line that yanks us towards the dancefloor.

The 8th Fire‘ embodies an undeniable old school early morning spirit, with its distinctive melodic hook. ‘Reverse Time‘ is a searing late night techno composition that builds the energy to fever pitch, before bringing us back down to a sated state. All in all, a career-best work and well worth the wait.

Here’s what some of the DJs set to perform had to say about Tomorrowland 31.12.2020.

Dutch electronic music hero Martin Garrix will be premiering lots of unreleased music at the fabulous Melodia stage:

I’m very happy that I’m part of Tomorrowland’s New Year’s Eve line-up. The way Tomorrowland set up the summer edition of Tomorrowland Around the World, the way all the visuals looked – even though there weren’t real people, looking back at it, it felt like I was at a real festival, so I’m very excited to be on stage for the New Year’s Eve party.

I’m going to play so much unreleased music and I really want to take people on a journey, playing some different sounding stuff and new things – I want it to be more of an experience.

Belgian techno queen Charlotte de Witte will be performing at the magnificent Atmosphere stage:

I’m expecting Tomorrowland to take things to the next level – it’s going to be even more impressive and detailed. It’s a great way to connect people and I really like the fact that Tomorrowland always incorporates lots of nature effects, this always brings something magical together with the music.

I want to tell a very good story and represent the music that I stand for. I’m playing some exclusive tracks and unreleased stuff – techno music with some trance influences. It’s going to be a high energy set, it’s New Year’s Eve and people want to party – I hope they will go crazy!

Danish techno legend Kölsch and Dutch techno titan Joris Voorn will be treating fans to a unique b2b set at the Atmosphere stage:

We’ll only be playing our own music – brand-new and made in the last half year – which will create a really exciting atmosphere on stage. Especially the fact that we haven’t even heard each other’s music that we’ve been making generates a different type of energy. We’ve seen a little sneak preview of the stage and it looks pretty insane – we immediately thought of a spaceport.

Belgian drum & bass pioneer Netsky will be playing at the dazzling Planaxis stage:

It’s almost hard to not have your hopes high with Tomorrowland, because every time you know you’re going to see something that will blow you away. I’m sure that in a week’s time, they’ll add fishes and massive whales behind me, which is incredible – I can’t wait to see this on a big screen myself. Everybody is working day and night in the next weeks to make this work, it’s an amazing effort.

Tensnake completes music video trilogy with the release of ‘Make You Mine’

DJ and producer, Tensnake has released the official video for ‘Make You Mine’, completing the trilogy of videos released for singles ‘Somebody Else’ and ‘Strange Without You’, all of which were recently released on album L.A., out now via Armada Music. A musical diary that is a love letter to the City of Angels, L.A. provides an introspective musical account of experiences with love and loss, all with a distinct pop influence.

The story begins with ‘Somebody Else‘, featuring vocals by Boy Matthews, the video follows two girls in love as they enjoy each other in the wondrous city of Los Angeles. From the beginning, we learn there is a twist in the tail and their love cannot be. One of them doesn’t belong to this universe, she is secretly a mermaid, which is a secret kept from the rest of the world.

In Part II via ‘Strange Without You‘ featuring Daramola, we follow one of the girls as she misses her lover, the mermaid. Retracing her steps, she’s unable to get her out of her head, and reality becomes mixed with memories. With her unable to distinguish what’s real and not via special effect-laden scenes, the video ends with her sinking into a bath, dreaming of lost love.

The last chapter unfolds with ‘Make You Mine‘, when the mermaid emerges from the sea to return to her lover, who emerges from her bath. She finds her in her home, and the two embrace in a climax of visuals and the lines between real and fantasy are blurred into a scene of passion. The story ends with both girls making their exit into the sea, dual mermaid tails diving into the sunset kissed waves.

The video trilogy was produced and directed by Groovy Chaos, an award-winning production company based in Monterrey, Mexico. It is highly specialized in visually attractive and powerful storytelling videos. With work featured and honoured at Cannes, Groovy Chaos has worked with international companies such as Coca Cola and Universal Music as well as artists ranging from Moby to Placebo.

A stunning, heart warming, three part video series, ‘Make You Mine‘ completes the story of two lovers in Los Angeles, a beautiful cross between real and imagination.

Change is all around us and everywhere we look. We’re constantly on the move, whether it’s because we inspire change within ourselves or simply because the world keeps turning. And that message takes center stage in the latest single of GoldFish and Julia Church, ‘Everything Is Changing’, and the stunning music video that’s being released next week.

Everything Is Changing‘ is a track full of hope and uplifting energy for these times, with positivity always being a signature of Dom and Dave‘s releases. Proof that GoldFish keep popping out gems, this cut features Julia Church on vocals and is bound to fill you with optimism and summery vibes, no matter the season.

GoldFish: “The journey of this song has been a special one. We had recorded this vocal together with Julia in Cape Town and subsequently all had gone on our separate ways: Julia to the U.K., ourselves to the U.S.A.

We were all touring, moving countries and doing life…and the track went through a few different iterations, sort of adjusting to our mindsets through all of these adventures. Until now, when we were really happy with it. 2020 really has been the year of change and although we resist it, we wanted this song to inspire a shift in how we all approach change. Super excited for the track to be out!

Julia Church: “GoldFish and I met through a mutual friend of ours. I was going through a big transition in my life, so everything really was changing. It’s such a special song to me personally because of what it meant back then, and all of that still rings true today. It’s so relevant right now too.
