Introducing Volumo: An Exciting Newcomer to the Global Electronic Music Market

Founded in early 2022 by three long-time friends from Ukraine, Volumo is challenging the dominance of Beatport, Juno Download, and Traxsource as the fourth player in the global electronic music market. A new-generation online electronic music store has already signed agreements with major distributors and offers a curated store experience focusing on the needs of artists, DJs, and sound producers.

Volumo, an ambitious new addition to the global electronic music market, opened an online store for professional DJs and selectors in early 2022. Founded by three long-time friends from Ukraine Oleksandr Dzyubenko, Anton Severynenko, and Denys Borysov it is a remote-first company with branches in the Estonian capital Tallinn and throughout Ukraine.

Oleksandr is an accomplished developer with experience working for Avid Technology, prized for its industry-standard digital audio workstation Pro Tools. Former DJs Anton and Denys have also found their footing in sound production and tech-house label ownership via Outstrip Music.

Volumo

With a comprehensive understanding of the challenges and opportunities in the publishing industry, Anton and Denys decided to establish a music store that caters to the interests and needs of artists. When Oleksandr was presented with the Volumo concept, it was not simply to create “just another online store” competing with Beatport, Juno Download, or Traxsource but rather to develop a new-generation store with an innovative and fresh approach. They aspired to launch Volumo as a modern and convenient working tool for professional DJs and selectors.

Volumo sets itself apart from other platforms with its unique approach. As a curated store, each release undergoes pre-moderation, resulting in a more enjoyable and efficient music selection process. Furthermore, Volumo‘s tag system allows artists to assign sub-genres and moods to their releases, making music discovery even more accessible.

Looking ahead, Volumo plans to implement a recommendation system similar to those utilized by Apple Music and Spotify to provide personalized music suggestions based on user preferences, a feature yet to be present in electronic music stores.

Volumo

The Volumo team is deeply immersed in the professional music industry, and their guiding principle is to bring downloads back to prominence. Their vision is for downloads to serve as a means to monetize an artist’s creative work and contribute to improving new music.

While some may view Volumo‘s strategy as overly romantic, it has proven effective. Within a year of its inception, Volumo secured agreements with major distributors such as FUGA, Symphonic, and Triple Vision. Their catalog boasts nearly 30,000 artists and 3,000 labels across more than 100 countries. The trio of founders behind Volumo stresses their commitment to remaining independent and preserving their original vision, refusing venture capital investment and avoiding quick exits that could jeopardize their goals.

With this approach, it is evident that they will succeed in revitalizing the importance of downloads in the industry.

David Guetta & Hypaton collab on smash new remix of La Bouche’s ‘Be My Lover (2023 Mix)’

David Guetta

David Guetta’s cutting-edge Future Rave sound returns on his new remix of La Bouche’s ‘90s classic ‘Be My Lover (2023 Mix)’ in collaboration with up-and-coming producer Hypaton, out on 21st April.

Guetta is fresh off of a legendary run, including new smash hit ‘Baby Don’t Hurt Me’, featuring pop megastars Anne-Marie and Coi Leray, and streaming monster ‘I’m Good (Blue)’, which hit #1 on the UK Singles chart as well as in 15 other territories including Australia, Denmark, Switzerland, Norway and Finland.

Be My Lover (2023 Mix)’ sees the French mastermind sharing remix duties with young viral sensation Hypaton, revamping La Bouche’s 1995 original with the dark yet electrifying blend of techno and progressive house that is David Guetta’s own Future Rave sound.

Since being coined by Guetta and his partner-in-crime Morten Breum, Future Rave’s futuristic mix of underground sounds with festival-sized energy has become a genre unto itself, as proved by the pair’s huge 2022 ‘Future Rave’ tour, which included a Hï Ibiza residency and an appearance at EDC, as well as November’s acclaimed Future Rave EP Episode 2.

Young production phenomenon Hypaton has picked up the Future Rave mantle, going viral with his ingenious revamps of ‘90s classics. Though he’s been producing EDM and trance since 2014, it was in 2022 that Hypaton became an Instagram reel sensation with his clever reworks, earning the attention of the mastermind behind the genre, David Guetta.

His music continues to go viral, amassing over 50 million views and counting and being shared over 100,000 times by accounts for the world’s biggest football teams, news agencies, celebrities and everything in between. Armed with a plethora of new, original, cutting-edge music for 2023, Hypaton’s rise to stardom looks certain to be nothing short of meteoric.

An electrifying Future Rave rework of a 90s classic, ‘Be My Lover (2023 Mix)’ shows David Guetta at the peak of his powers – and at the cutting edge of house music.

Goom Gum & Sevenn combine forces on ‘Music’, out now via Tomorrowland Music

Prolific duo Goom Gum and American DJ and producer Sevenn have joined their talents for the new collaborative track ‘Music’, released out now via Tomorrowland’s world-renowned record label Tomorrowland Music.

The trio works together for the first time ever on this cut and lets their respective energies flow into a powerful composition.

Music‘ uses a rousing vocal symphony with a rolling bassline, an urgent melody, and a spine-tingling breakdown, all set up for a sweaty night out in the club. Goom Gum recently scored a Beatport number 1 with ‘Pantheon‘ and are set to perform at Tomorrowland festival in Belgium this July, as well as Sevenn.

Here’s what the artists had to say about their new collaboration “Music“:

Goom Gum: “Sevenn has been a huge fan of our tracks, same from our side. He offered us to try some ideas around his voice draft and at the end we built ‘Music’.”

Sevenn: “I’ve been a fan of Goom Gum for such a long time, they’re the most incredible producers. I had felt like if we joined forces, we could make something of epic proportions, and that’s what happened with this tune.

I had this groove in my head that was somewhat similar to afro dance and I came up with this more techno sounding vocal idea on top to make it more ominous and serious. I sent it to Goom Gum and we went from there.”

Drive is Tiësto‘s first conceptual album since Kaleidoscope in 2009, it’s visual component paying homage to his life-long fascination of Formula 1 racing.
