Ferry Corsten takes ‘Timeout’ on Flashover for something different with Dustin Husain!

Ferry Corsten

Like with earlier releases’ Fire’ feat Simon Le Bon and Gold-certified hit ‘Punk’, Ferry Corsten has managed to successfully levitate himself beyond the trance genre, gaining respect from contemporaries in house, EDM and underground circles.

Whilst internationally renowned electronic artist Ferry Corsten has had a career synonymous with trance, his musical range has always extended far beyond just one genre. His latest release, ‘Timeout‘, in collaboration with rising talent Dustin Husain, adds another layer to the spectrum of sounds that have contributed to his career over the past two decades.

An irresistible house player, ‘Timeout‘ pulsates with a progressive groove and a stylised piano melody, leading the track to quickly hit its pace with an energetic drive. With ‘Timeout‘, Ferry and Dustin draw on influences from the classic piano house era as they interlace lashings of energy into a female-led vocal house track that fans and DJs will play well into the fall.

Revealing the message behind the track, Ferry said:

This one is simple. We wanted to make a track that halts people from the mundane of their working week, studies, or whatever else they need a release from and signals that it’s time for the weekend. So, get ready to party!

Martin Garrix releases ‘Find You’ with Justin Mylo and Dewain Whitmore

Just a week away from the ‘Sentio’ album release, Martin Garrix is pulling out all the stops.

A name that couldn’t be left out of the streak of releases is one of his close friends, Justin Mylo. Together with Mylo and Grammy-Award-winning singer Dewain Whitmore, he created ‘Find You‘.

Find You‘ is an energetic and bright track like only Garrix and Mylo can create. The heartfelt lyrics are reminiscent of a stranded relationship and trying to get that feeling of love back again, which is perfectly emphasized by Dewain Whitmore‘s heartfelt vocals.

The three are no strangers to working together, having teamed up on ‘Burn Out‘ before already. Gearing up for the album release next week, Garrix has lined up the last tracks that will complete the ‘Sentio‘ tracklist.

Enrico Sangiuliano announces the launch of his 10-chapter, transient record label NINETOZERO

Enrico Sangiuliano stands as one of contemporary dance music’s most influential talents, with a catalogue of timeless No.1 records to his name. Embarking on his newest exploration in the world of sound design, the production maestro announces the upcoming launch of his 10-chapter, transient record label NINETOZERO.

A master of conceptual studies, and with deep and meaningful narratives at the core of his many opuses, the Emilia native’s forthcoming imprint serves as an intervention to the notion of perpetual music, opting for a storyline that’s both fleeting and told with growing intensity.

With a timeline spanning three years, NINETOZERO‘s countdown of releases will stand as some of Enrico‘s most progressive and freeing compositions to date, forming a statement of music that forces us to focus on the present as well as the sensitivity and value of time. In a world where music is over released and often underappreciated, NINETOZERO‘s ephemeral messaging will encourage audiences to challenge their listening habits, offering an alternative experience that’s driven by the unavoidable conclusion of the project.

Enrico Sangiuliano NINETOZERO

Here’s what Enrico had to say about his new label:

Welcome to NINETOZERO, my new temporary sound dimension focused on the present and with an end to come. As with everything in the universe, the only constant is change. I’ll go through this evolutionary path for 3 years, from the beginning to the end – from 9 to 0. Let’s embrace it and grab it while it exists! Nothing lasts forever. With passion and love, Enrico

Diverging from the traditional format of releasing music, and to fully realise the project’s scope, Enrico‘s 10 chapters will each extend their impact with translations into varying creative outputs, with the first body of work set for release in June.

alice.km has dropped her 2nd release of the year with “Beltane.”

Female solo electronic DJ/producer and multi-faceted entrepreneur alice.km has dropped her 2nd release of the year with “Beltane.” The single follows up January’s Solar Waves EP, which showcased two tracks,“Ostara,” and “Arctic Age,” each of which featuring a certain chilling, organic/natural approach to songwriting and sample-crafting. “Beltane,” still maintains certain cues found from the EP, being a part of the makeup of her signature sound that defines her style at this point in time.

This season of sounds shares a certain mysterious energy about them that channels an ominous spiritual hopefulness, one of many unique factors she brings to the table sonically.

An light ethinc percussion starts off and soft keys begin to set the mood of “Beltane.” Things gradually evolve as the technicality seduces the mind and puts one into a hypnotic, sedated trance without the listener noticing. Mystical echo/delayed vocals begin to work their magic, helping infuse just the right amount of personality into this ambient journey through the vision of alice.km

Ironically, “Beltane,” is released just in time for the Pagan holiday known as May Day. Mostly celebrated in the British Isles. The holiday falls right between the spring equinox and summer solstice, celebrating peak springtime and the richness the earth has to offer during this period.

For alice.km, this was a production that was simply meant to me, the pieces of what this would become being more organized mentally that what the music creation process tends to be for her. “Beltane,” has found a home alongside 3 other tracks via the Running Wild VA compilation, a collection of tracks put out by label IAMHER. The imprint is founded and operated by renowned act Underher, featuring well-curated selections that all must pass a quality standard they approve of and that finds a fit.

On top of pursuing a music career, alice.km is the co-founder of the immersive event promoter group Last Night’s Makeup, creating unique and engaging nightlife events showcasing various styles of dance music while incorporating live performance elements such as burlesque, live musicians, drag, go-go, etc.

sympL Releases 2nd Single ‘No Water’ From Anticipated Upcoming Album

sympL’s 2nd single from his upcoming album brings together modern social commentary and sardonic, yet witty lyricism backed by an infectious & almost frantic cadence – somewhere between Big Daddy Kane and the Dead Kennedys.

Sonically, he revisits the arpeggiated synths and breakbeat drum patterns of 90’s – while adding a wobbling bassline beneath it all. The clavinet leads the charge of this funky brigade – although, perhaps the most surprising element is the chorus – a re-purposing of Rock Master Scott’s phrase: “we don’t need no water” sung by his children in the wake of national protests a few years ago.

The combination is as manic as the visuals that accompany it suggest – his longtime partner and collaborator, The One Lavic – under her video editing moniker The Indie Side Media, takes the lead on the video for the song – blending public domain animation with go-pro footage taken while on a first post-pandemic tour.

The message is one of a society unraveling from within – from the contaminated waters in Flint, Michigan to the irony of a country built on immigration while harboring racism, sympL seeks to capture the hypocrisy with more of a tongue-in-cheek outlook than being aggressively political.

“But then something happened. Pawns took the rooks, the knights, and the magic… It ain’t safe no more. If you’ve got riches better pay the poor…”
