CID drops new track ‘Can’t Stop Missing You’ on Sonny Fodera’s Solotoko

Following Jumpin’ alongside Westend on Repopulate Mars earlier this year, Grammy-winning producer CID now heads to Sonny Fodera’s Solotoko for new single Can’t Stop Missing You (feat. Lizzy Land), marking his debut on the esteemed imprint.

From after-hour house weapons to crossover dance anthems, CID‘s sonic landscape has continued to evolve over the years whilst standing at the forefront of the scene as a leading, worldwide curator.

Racking up world-class experience, the US producer’s expertise stem from his first ever Grammy for his production work on Cedric Davis‘ multiplatinum hit remix of Lana Del Rey‘s Summertime Sadness. Catapulting across the Atlantic and into UK waters, CID reached global recognition with Got Me Thinkin‘ that saw support from Pete Tong on BBC Radio 1.

Since then, CID has continued to reel in the success that sees him amass millions of streams regularly, including multiple collabs with Kaskade, Loud Luxury, Anabel Englund and Cee Lo Green as well as remixing pop hits for the likes of Lizzo, Halsey, Ellie Goulding x Diplo, Galantis and more.

Also landing solo hits on the likes of Big Beat, Musical Freedom, HEXAGON, Spinnin‘, SIZE and his own rising imprint Night Service Only, CID continues to push his versatile, artistic vision with new offering on Solotoko.

Boasting grooving bass that underpins Lizzy‘s soaring vocal cuts, Can’t Stop Missing You makes for a crossover house anthem packed with global appeal. Demonstrating his ability to once again navigate multiple genre realms effortlessly, we can’t wait to see where CID heads next.

Guy Mantzur & Khen Deliver Reworks of 2-Track “Where is Home” EP

John Digweed’s Bedrock Records imprint returns with another exhilarating remix pack. This time around, Utrecht-based talent Kasper Koman and Hamburg’s very own Matthias Meyer have been enlisted for remix duties, reworking Guy Mantzur and Khen’s 2019 hits ‘My Golden Cage’ and ‘Where Is Home’, respectively. It also directly follows the label’s previous 2021 releases, such as Kohra and Framewerk’s Forge remix compilation, as well as Outcome and Philipp Straub’s 4-track Lyra EP.

Kasper Koman’s ‘4AM Remix’ of ‘My Golden Cage’ follows up his ‘6AM Reprise’ version of the track, released at the beginning of the month via the QUATTRO II compilation album. The original track’s deep, brooding basslines, cerebral nature, propelling rhythm, and entrancing four-on-the-floor beat all came together to form an energetic tune that audibly possessed a palpable mystique. For his crepuscular 6AM Reprise, Koman stripped the original of its sonic bombast, instead opting for an uplifting, positively feelgood tune that is rife with masterful synth manipulation and a clearly defined, skilled artistry.

His 4AM Remix sees Koman taking it back a few hours, instead presenting a certified dancefloor warmer that easily fits into the nightclub time slot it’s aptly named after. Warping into a high-octane club-ready weapon, this rendition prominently features a propulsively driving ambiance, replete with rising tensions and several bass drops, almost as if it were an invigorating rollercoaster of sound.

The original version of Guy Mantzur & Khen’s ‘Where Is Home’ has a distinct Balearic beat, atmospherically funky tone, and shimmering production elements, which Matthias Meyer intentionally leaves to the wayside. Instead, the producer completely pivots stylistically. The new tune maintains much of the same playfulness, but also serves as a much more serious take on the single. Throughout its nearly seven-and-a-half minute runtime, it transforms its source material into a reflective piece, urging the listener to sit with the simple, but yet profound message, of where home truly is.

UNDERHER drops the stunning ‘Everything Goes’ on Renaissance

Following his Renaissance debut on the ‘Merin’ EP, UNDERHER now makes the official jump to a much-anticipated solo release with the stunning ‘Everything Goes’.

The track is a transatlantic collaboration between the Montreal-based producer and London’s fast-emerging Anaphase. The spectacular result is that rare jewel – a vocal record with real emotion. This, though, is very much UNDERHER’s wheelhouse, he’s been forging an ever-growing career embracing the haunting dark and soul of house for some time now as he explains,

I was really pleased with how ‘Everything Goes’ turned out. It’s one of those instances where the vocal and instrumental parts of the track married perfectly. This is always the goal of course, but it’s never an exact science so when that magic happens it’s always welcome.

Ever the creative, UNDERHER kindly supplies two versions of the record with the organic-leaning, downtempo ‘Original’ alongside a ‘Club Mix’ with, as you may anticipate, a more peak-time, melodic techno vibe.

And the good times don’t stop there. An emotive record deserves to be put in the hands of those who can do it justice, so who better than Monkey Safari?

Vintage Culture & Gui Boratto drop official remix of Monolink – The Prey

Monolink

Having recently announced the finer details of his eagerly-anticipated second studio album, Under Darkening Skies, internationally celebrated German artist Monolink now unveils the latest remix of his hit single The Prey, as he enlists two titans of the Brazilian electronic music scene, Gui Boratto and Vintage Culture, to provide their club-focused interpretation of the introspective original.

Out now via Embassy One, Ultra Records (N&S America) and Sweat It Out (Aus & NZ), Gui Boratto and Vintage Culture’s remix marks the impressive debut collaboration from the two Brazilian heavyweight producers, and follows the remarkable success of Mind Against’s recent remix of The Prey, which dropped on March 12th.

A delectable slice of raw, intricately textured, melodic house music, Boratto and Vintage Culture’s expert treatment of organic instrumentation, analogue synthesisers and punchy four-to-the-flour drums delivers in spades.

Tempering Steffen Linck’s melancholic vocals with juxtaposed euphoria, cascading arpeggios and driving, guitar-led basslines throughout, this opening partnership from the two South American producers is yet another remarkable addition to Monolink’s expansive remix catalogue.

Maxim Lany unveils poignant music video for ‘Shadows’

Maxim Lany

Following the release of his emotive single ‘Shadows’ feat. Nathan Nicholson earlier this year on Armada Electronic Elements, Belgian producer Maxim Lany unveils a poignant music video for his atmospheric creation.

Providing the perfect visual accompaniment, the official music video explores the theme of isolation, whilst finding connection through the power of music. Shining a light on four different characters as they navigate isolation, the music video uses a split screen to reflect their shared experiences. As the track reaches its pinnacle, the characters turn to face the camera, which results in a powerful moment that reinforces ‘Shadows’ depth and meaning.

Speaking about the music video, Maxim explained:

I wanted to create a visual accompaniment that mirrors the emotions and honesty that I put into the track. I hope people watching can relate to what has happened in their lives over the past year. I want people to realize they are not alone, and that music can bring us all closer together.

The director of the video said

Spingun approached me and we immediately connected through Maxim’s fundamental idea to tell the story of several characters who are all linked through their isolation. Focused on the emotional part of isolation, we developed four individual settings with four characters and created a cinematic concept to connect all of them in the end. Working with split screen was an interesting challenge during the whole process, which was all in all a very exciting experience.”
