Tomorrowland 2018 Phase 1 Lineup announced! Hardwell, Axwell^Ingrosso to headline

It’s here! It’s finally here! The most exciting EDM news broke Today, world’s best electronic dance music festival, Tomorrowland, just dropped the phase 1 of its 2018 lineup with superstar DJs you do NOT want to miss!

For its 14th year in a row, Tomorrowland‘s lineup will be bringing top-notch world-famous artists to party with everyone out in Boom, Belgium. The first wave of artists for “The Story Of Planaxis has been revealed with performances from:

&ME vs Rampa, Armin van Buuren, Axwell^Ingrosso, Ben Klock, Marcel Dettman, Camelphat, Charlotte De Witte, Claptone, Da Tweekaz, Hardwell, Kolsch, Netsky, Partyraiser, Patrice Baumel, REZZ, RL Grime, Solomun, Stephan Bodzin, and Sven Vath.

Tomorrowland 2018 is scheduled to take place from July 20 to 22 and July 27 to 29 and this year’s theme is the The Story Of Planaxis. HERE you can check stage hosts for the 2018 edition of the event.

Deadmau5 trolls Hardwell on Twitter over his new Eclipse fragrance!

Ah, Deadmau5. Aside from being a top progressive house legend, this Canadian DJ/Producer is certainly one heck of an internet troll as well.

Joel took to Twitter earlier today posting an amused rant about Hardwell‘s new Eau de toilette fragrance launch, titled “Eclipse.”

“i cant right now,” he types, “um how the fuck did we not get an AU DE TOILET deal by now? seriously? PRIORITIZE YOUR SHIT MAN. FUCK ALL THIS OTHER LAME SHIT WEVE BEEN DOING. GET ON THIS. NOW.”

Joel then went on to post a video on his youtube channel about the incident. In it, he mocks Hardwell‘s fragrance and puts out an auction to sell his own “au de toilet” water, straight from the source.

“This is legit. This is the real deal. This is water direct from my toilet… Unaltered. This is not sink water. It’s not tap water. It’s not bottled water. This is legit water from the place I piss and shit… and it could be yours for the ridiculously low price of $50 dollars.”

‘Eclipse‘ retails for about $40.00 USD.

If anyone actually buys Joel’s “au de toilet” concoction, the $50.00 charge will go straight to charity.

Purple Haze kicks off 2018 with the glorious semi-acoustic version of ‘Light Me Up’

One of the standout tracks from Purple Haze’s stunning debut record SPECTRVM now gets a stunning rework to get 2018 going with a bang. The semi-acoustic mix of Light Me Up is a spellbinding vocal track featuring the tones of Bonus Check.

Blending traditional pop style sections with fizzing, euphoric trance/dance passages, Light Me Up is perfectly placed between the radio and the dancefloor.

This tweaked version begins with dulcet piano tones twinkling the distance, Bonus Check’s vocal soon builds the emotion and energy as the chord progressions unfold. Huge synth arpeggios filter up, teasing us with their euphoria as the track subtly but firmly swells.

The drop unleashes the melody in full technicolour glory, filling the stereo field with its spine-tingling sounds. It’s the sound of all of Sander van Doorn’s years of experience filtered into three-and-a-half minutes of perfection.

Claptone announces 2nd album ‘Fantast’ and shares new single!

In his second artist album Fantast, the Claptone universe is at its deepest and most vivid. He is the master of his domain and in his most artful offering yet, the assured 13 tracks of Fantast come together to create an album full of varied colours and atmospheric textures.

In music, Claptone seeks not to create a world of secrecy, but one of great depth and intrigue. An enigma with a tireless desire for creativity and thirst for new music, Claptone has brought together a diverse group of collaborators such as Bloc Party’s Kele Okereke, Blaenavon, Tender, Jones, Zola Blood, Austra’s Katie Stelmanis, The Boxer Rebellion’s Nathan Nicholson, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Joan as a Policewoman and Matt Simons.

“Over the last two years it has been a great pleasure to work on this album as a counterpoint to the hectic world of travelling as a DJ. To lose myself when making music, to dive into and create my very own realm of beauty.

The first single ‘In The Night’ features the vocals of Ben Duffy, which paired with Claptone’s insistent and upbeat production, makes for an exquisitely executed electronic pop gem. It marks an engaging opening snapshot for what will be a milestone in his already glittering career.

“When would I return if not in the night? What would our love look like, if not with you letting me go? Which song will you be humming when thunder and lightning are coming?’”

We caught a glimpse of his ambition to produce a body of work in Claptone’s debut artist album Charmer which has scored over 60 million streams and counting, but it’s in Fantast that Claptone really delves deeper into the art of songwriting.

Axwell^Ingrosso unveil visually-striking video for new single ‘Dreamer’

Swedish EDM power duo, Axwell^Ingrosso have unveiled the official music video for their latest single ‘Dreamer’. Shot almost entirely underwater, the clip tells a love story of two characters trapped, submerged beneath the water’s surface.

The visually-striking video was directed by Swedish-born Henrik Hanson, whose previous work includes videos for Chase & Status, Swedish House Mafia, Miller and L’Homme Rouge.

Their latest release titled ‘Dreamer‘ has already amassed over 50 million combined streams to date worldwide, and follows the duo’s previous, certified global smash hit single ‘More Than You Know‘ – which was also the most-streamed dance track on Spotify in 2017.

Moonrise Festival Announces Return For 2018!

Moonrise festival has announced their return for their fifth year running for August 11th and 12th 2018!

This annual Baltimore, MD based event will take place at Pimlico Racecourse and will feature a four-stage setup and two nights of amazing performances. Passes are expected to go on sale January 26th at NOON EST!

The lineup for Moonrise Festival will be released later in Spring.

DJ roasts this actor for interrupting her Holy Ship performance!

Cutting off a DJ while they are performing is considered a huge no-no, especially if they’re right in the middle of their set at a major festival such as Holy Ship!.

Apparently, actor James Earl, didn’t quite get the memo about this rule. According to earlier reports, this incident occurred while Earl was attending a hip-hop themed party during the last day of the Holy Ship! festival. He decided that DJ Madam X, who arrived on stage between fellow artists 4B and GLADPVCK, just simply wasn’t playing the right music for the job.

“What is this shit? What’s happened to my hip hop room? Where’s my trap at?” He reportedly asked into the microphone before being promptly booed off the stage.

Madam X was quick to fire back about the incident on her Twitter account, saying:

“I am not responsible for the incongruent programming. Although I was placed on the ‘HipHop stage’, I will ALWAYS do me and play my shit. Never in my nine years of DJing have I experienced such tacky behavior. Only want positive vibes when I play. Love to the crowd for booing him off.”

She then adds, “Hope you crawl back into the ignorant hole you came out of. Meanwhile I will continue my USA TOUR to New York, Dallas & El Paso. Peace.”

Earl was not billed to be a performer for Holy Ship! nor was he in any way hosting the hip-hop party the two were attending. He later addressed the incident in a tweeted response that read:

“@DJmadamX much love to you. I apologize if I offended you in anyway. The rant wasn’t about you specifically It was about the Stage. Our job as DJs is to do our homework! There was no reason for you to have to play to an empty room when it was full like this.”

He then attached a short video clip showing the Holy Ship crowd at an earlier performance.

Above & Beyond dropped stunning new single “Always” (feat. Zoë Johnston)

Above & Beyond are starting the year 2018 is style! They’ve just released a beautiful new single “Always” featuring the angelic voice of Zoë Johnston.

Above & Beyond is one of dance music’s most versatile acts. In fact, the trio’s deft songwriting ability and skill with traditional instruments has enabled them to step out from behind the DJ decks and perform their songs in an acoustic format.

The not so secret weapon has been an ongoing collaboration with highly talented vocalists including Richard Bedford, Justine Suissa and Zoë Johnston, who each adds a distinct flavor and richness to each song.

Shedding the 4/4 beats and progressive rhythms, Above & Beyond have once again teamed up with Zoë Johnston for the emotional ballad titled ‘Always,’ released as a single today (January 19) and included with the new album, ‘Common Ground‘, released one week later.

Dating back to 2004, Above & Beyond and Zoë Johnston have collaborated on classics including ‘Good For Me,’ ‘Love Is Not Enough,’ and ‘We’re All We Need’, among many others. Zoë has also been an integral part of A&B’s live acoustic shows, helping the band to transform their original songs into renditions that’s become the stuff of legend. The next step in the partnership is the album Common Ground which features Zoë’s voice on the songs ‘My Own Hymn,’ ‘Sahara Love’ and ‘Always.’

‘Always’ is a gorgeous ballad about the safety, comfort and relief of knowing that somebody will be there for you, especially when you need them most. The song perfectly encapsulates A&B’s work with Zoë – incredible songwriting and delivery that hits you right in the heart. You can’t fight back the tears of joy.

“The song acknowledges that those who are there for us no matter what still have the choice to walk away. They could choose to disappear, or backtrack on a commitment to love us, but the fact that they don’t is what makes their love evermore extraordinary and precious to us,” Johnston says.

Filmed in Flaine and Samoëns in the French Alps, the official video (directed by Daniel Sharp) adds a stunning visual complete with a grand piano performance atop a snow capped mountain.

Fideles are starting the new year in style with their ‘Cerchio’ EP

Year 2018 starts with the second strike from the Italian duo ‘Fideles’, comprised of Daniele Apreile & Mario Roberti. Having already released tracks on ‘Innervisions’ and with more equally highbrow productions scheduled for later in the year, Fideles are fast becoming a rounded and familiar electronic music act.

There’s a brand new release from the duo, and we are pleasantly surprised. The title track ‘Cerchio’ really works the elements of suspense and tension over its slow burning
progression. On the flip ‘Distorted Foam’ & ‘Panorama’ both fuse dark late night vibes with a hypnotic lightness.

Emerging in early 2010, the pair have already released a substantial body of music to date, across a number of leading imprints. With the aim of delivering a mature and complete sound, their productions have found their way to release on labels including JoshWink’s ‘Ovum Recordings’ & Oliver Koletzki’s ‘Still vor Talent’.

Last year Excision’s Lost Lands festival was known for having one of the best camping experiences around, and before that Electric Forest was a game changer. Well, Insomniac team decided to mic drop the competition by releasing the map for EDC Las Vegas 2018 Camp Grounds.

My first initial thoughts were that Electric Daisy Carnival was going to be a Fyrefest-esque camping situation with the heat bearing down on the black-top but now I am sold that this will be an experience to remember.

The fun starts at ‘The Mesa‘, the bustling hub of entertainment, activities, and amenities that campers can enjoy and take part in all weekend long. Here, you’ll find all sorts of ridiculousness and good times, including daytime pool parties, team games, a roller rink, and go-kart racing.
