EXIT reveals full line-up of the iconic No Sleep Novi Sad stage!

After EXIT Festival announced most of the “All-Star” line-up for its infamous stage Dance Arena, including Nina Kraviz, Maceo Plex, Solomun, Richie Hawtin, Adam Beyer & Ida Engberg, Amelie Lens, Ben Klock and many others, the time has come for the No Sleep Novi Sad stage to step in!

The deep trench behind the Arena and the most far out (in many ways) point of the acclaimed Serbian festival is considered by many to be a festival in its own right.

After it hosted some of the world’s most exciting clubs, this year, its Club-Partners are London’s fabric, New York’s The Bunker, Moscow’s Arma 17 and the Roman Goa Club. From July 12 to 15, thousands of die-hard fans gathered in the southmost trench of the Petrovaradin fortress will dance to Helena Hauff, DJ Tennis, Mike Servito, Daniel Avery b2b Rødhåd, Red Axes, Julia Govor, Craig Richards b2b Nicolas Lutz, Erika, Nikita Zabelin, Midland, Tin Man, Philipp Gorbachev, Giorgio Gigli, Abelle, Tijana T, Eric Cloutier, Adiel, Silvie Loto, Bryan Kasenic, Svetlana Maraš, Patrick Russell, etc.

At the very start of four sleepless nights, on Thursday, July 12, comes Lego, a future star from Stockholm, from the respectable Parabel label, as well as Blackhall & Bookless, a British duo well-known for their decade-long run of Jaunt parties. Serbian internationaly praised DJ star Tijana T will also join them on the bill of London’s fabric, and this Faringdon-to-Petrovaradin journey will be continued by the brilliant producer Midland, whose FABRICLIVE 94 mix album is still fresh off the shelf.

Just like Saturdays in Fabric, this night at Exit is unthinkable without their famous resident DJ and author of their first mixed CD, Craig Richards, whose early morning b2b sets with Nicolas Lutz are the stuff of London legends. The bill is lead by one of fabric’s most talked about regulars Daniel Avery, perhaps the foremost DJ star of London’s next generation whose much awaited album arrives this Friday! He will take on the closing b2b set together with his Berlin peer behind the mighty Dystopian label, the global techno hero Rødhåd!

On Friday, July 13, a special concert made for Exit, will kick off the No Sleep Novi Sad stage, done by Serbian composer Svetlana Maraš, director of the Electronic studio of Radio Belgrade, whose works have been heard at festivals from Berlin to New York. This will be a perfect opening for the famous Brooklyn collective The Bunker, whose line up at EXIT includes a guest from Detroit, the techno heroine Erika, as well as one of the most fascinating “live techno” artists – Tin Man!

Still, what insured the international status of Bunker as a truly underground outlet marking its 15th anniversary this year, are their top-notch resident DJs. The super-experienced veteran of the American scene, Patrick Russell, will set the tone and tempo of the night, while the real DJ hypnotist and musical fanatic Eric Cloutier will take the darkest part of the night, the one just before it dawns. First rays of the sun will greet Bryan Kasenic, the legendary founder of The Bunker, whose lineage can be traced to Exit’s own part of the world, while the final set will be taken by the true Detroit heavyweight with a New York address – Mike Servito!

Saturday, July 14, sees the stage moving East, with the most important Russian art collective of today – Moscow’s Arma 17. The team behind the best known Moscow’s club and record label, with festivals and events all around the world will be welcomed by No Sleep own resident DJs, Sloxxx and Klaus. They will be relieved by one of the Arma’s best international transplants Julia Govor, who originated from Moscow’s core scene and nowadays lives in New York.

Another super-exciting live performance will be helmed by the Russian fantast and “one-man band”, Philipp Gorbachev, while the night-to-day transition will be painted by the Arma’s ideologist Natasha Abelle. The first morning set goes to the Russian rising techno star Nikita Zabelin, whose industrial sound of contemporary Moscow will be a true intro for the music finale. Just like the football one on the same weekend, it will be of historical proportions, because the inimitable Helena Hauff arrives to EXIT! Special guest of Arma and EXIT media declared to be “the best thing from Hamburg since the Beatles”, whose skills behind the decks rightfuly got her the Essential Mix of the Year 2017. Fully absent from social networks, credit cards of any gadgets, Helena Hauff travels the planet with authentic enthusiasm for the audience as the ultimate techno headliner of leading festivals and clubs.

Sunday is always reserved for the finale, and the Italians know how to win it even with the toughest of competition! In order to level the field with all nights before, the Eternal city’s most beloved club Goa, will be sending their first team, with the guest starring offensive duo and the captain who plays as if it was a matter of “life and death”, pun intended! First to reach the pitch is Fabrizio Sala, a microhouser in charge of best warm ups and longest after parties, followed by three true Roman stars: Silvie Loto, a regular at leading Ibiza parties, Adiel, the tribalic voodoo dancer of the new Italian techno scene, and DJ Red, the alter ego of Simona Calvani, one of the techno symbols and 20-year long resident of Ultrabeat parties at Goa club.

High precision game in the middle of the night shall come from the great “noir” hypnotist Giorgio Gigli, bard of the Roman techno scene and the mainstay of beloved labels such as “Elettronica Romana”, “Zooloft”, “Prologue” and “Electric Deluxe”. After last summer’s magical morning set, the Israeli duo Red Axes returns to EXIT with new material from the upcoming album signed by one of the most influential labels of the decade, “Life & Death”. Its founder DJ Tennis is the captain of this fantastic lineup, and the former curator of Goa will have the honor to close this year’s No Sleep Novi Sad stage, which outgrew its format becoming a real festival within a much bigger, the EXIT.

After European tours, No Sleep crosses the Atlantic!
International success of EXIT Festival‘s stage can be characterized as meteoric, with media praises that proclaim it “the place where Exit’s lineup truly shines” or “only a few stages in the world can compare”!

At this custom designed, recognizable stage, EXIT partnered with some of the world’s most exciting clubs such as Concrete (Paris), Tresor (Berlin), Fuse (Brussels), Sub Club (Glasgow), Grelle Forelle (Vienna), Avant Garde (London), Nitsa (Barcelona), Salon des Amateurs (Dusseldorf) and 20/44 and Drugstore from Belgrade. The EXIT’s No Sleep launch parties have been thrown in these legendary clubs, and this year the warm up tour goes over the Atlantic!

Exit Festival presents No Sleep Novi Sad 2018

EXIT festival will be held from July 12 to July 15 on the Petrovaradin Fortress in Novi Sad and will present some of the most sought-after world stars, such as Migos, Grace Jones, David Guetta, Ziggy Marley, Fever Ray, LP, Alice Merton, Nina Kraviz, Richie Hawtin, Adam Beyer b2b Ida Engberg, Dog Eat Dog, Slaves, Maceo Plex, Solomun, Sevdaliza, Madball, Amelie Lens, Ben Klock, Jax Jones, Mahmut Orhan, Carl Craig, Tale of Us, Burak Yeter, Brujeria, Ofenbach, Slapshot, Idles, Asphyx, Bombers and many others.

World’s most popular Ecstasy Pills – Ranked by Name and Color

most popular ecstasy pills

In a recent study done by an organization called Addiction Now, the worlds most popular ecstasy pills are ranked. Within the study, the group analyzed over 8,000 crowdsourced reports that were submitted to websites like PillReports.net and EcstasyData.org.

When using either of the above websites I listed above, users share their experiences on certain types of MDMA that is either consumed or tested. With most reports being accurate and very detailed, it helps consumers dictate healthy and toxic substances. The study has turned out to be a very informative one. It clearly lays out the most popular varieties of ecstasy and where they were reported across the globe.

As you can see from the chart listed above, the Blue Dolphin Ecstasy pill was the most commonly reported pill across multiple platforms reaching 58. Coming in a close second place was the White Mercedes with 52. Third place would drop all the way down to 20 reports was the Green Apple pill. On this very list, the Superman, Transformer, Rolex and Cartier were reported to be potentially fatal. Agree with it or not, their just laying out the data.

As far as within the United States, the Blue Transformer took first place with a 76% domestic report share. Coming in second place was the Blue Superman with 52% and the Green Apple at third. Reports show that these substances were mainly used in Los Angeles, San Fransisco and other major cities in the midwest.

Unlike most of the other popular MDMA pills on this list, the Blue Dolphin has a long history in the United States. The pill first appeared in Seattle in 2002, it would quickly rise to the top in California, Washington, Idaho, Texas, Georgina, and Indiana.

The Blue Dolphin would later appear in major metropolitan areas in the South. Memphis, Austin, Miami, and Atlanta were all Dolphin cities. Festival goers have been known to associate with this specific pill.

Last October in Australia, there were 11 teen-related overdoses involving the Blue Superman pill. The ecstasy pills shaped with the Superman logo may not even contain MDMA. All 11 victims luckily survived in Australia, unfortunately 4 passed away in England due to the Blue Superman.

The famous Green Apple ecstasy pill first appeared in 2004 in Detroit and was last seen back in 2012 in Ohio. During 2014, federal authorities reported two separate deaths due to overdoses on this very Green Apple ecstasy pill.

When consuming new substances it’s always a smart idea to get a testing kit. These websites are very informative and might just save your life. Party safe ravers!

Ultra Music Festival in Miami smashes records on its 20th Anniversary

ultra music festival

A completely sold-out Ultra Music Festival saw its most memorable show to-date this past weekend at Bayfront Park in Downtown Miami with the celebration of its landmark 20th anniversary. Swedish House Mafia, Will Smith, Above & Beyond, Halsey, Desiigner and Yo Gotti were just a few of the surprise performers that captivated 165,000 attendees from over 60 countries around the globe.

After much speculation and with anticipation at fever pitch, Swedish House Mafia reunited with a surprise performance to close the Main Stage and the festival on Sunday night. The historic reunion came almost five years to the day after the groups’ farewell performance at Ultra Music Festival in 2013.

The legendary trio, consisting of Axwell, Sebastian Ingrosso and Steve Angello, opened the set with ‘Miami 2 Ibiza’, and closed off the night in spectacular fashion with an encore of their globally renowned track ‘One’ to the delight of festival goers and the millions eagerly watching the live stream at home.

Saturday night was equally filled with a range of mind blowing and unexpected performances. Marshmello brought out special guests Slushii, Yo Gotti, G-Eazy, and Lil Uzi Vert who all performed to a packed crowd, followed by a sensational appearance from the one and only Will Smith who performed his international hit ‘Miami’.

Tiësto, The Chainsmokers, David Guetta, Carl Cox, Axwell Λ Ingrosso and Steve Aoki are just a few names among the leagues of legendary performers who took to Ultra’s iconic stages at Bayfront Park. Ultra veterans Rabbit In The Moon and Josh Wink also graced the festival, having both performed at the very first Ultra Music Festival 20 years ago in 1999.

The gargantuan Ultra Main Stage once again showcased an unrivalled sound system, mesmerising pyrotechnics and a lighting rig that can only be described as out-of-this-world.

The RESISTANCE Carl Cox MEGASTRUCTURE received a huge upgrade to its already mind-blowing production this year, with one of the most outstanding lighting structures ever seen at a festival, creating a wormhole effect that stunned attendees and live stream viewers at home alike.

The man himself, Carl Cox, closed both Friday and Saturday night in spectacular, trademark fashion, and hosted a massive back-to-back set from giants Dubfire, Nicole Moudaber, Paco Osuna. The MEGASTRUCTURE lineup also saw a heavy presence from artists slated to play RESISTANCE Ibiza this summer, including Adam Beyer, Jamie Jones, Joseph Capriati, Maceo Plex, and Pan-Pot.

Complementing the MEGASTRUCTURE was a second stage for RESISTANCE with the Arcadia Spider, featuring heavyweight pyrotechnics, moving limbs propelling fire and dry ice, and piercing lasers that projected impressive displays across Bayfront Park.

The weekend saw a slew of b2b performances from techno royalty including Technasia b2b Hector, Patrick Topping b2b Nathan Barato, and Guti (Live) b2b wAFF. Closing out the stage on Sunday after performances from house and techno’s elite guard was the supergroup J.E.S.u.S, the b2b2b project from Jackmaster, Eats Everything, Skream and Seth Troxler.

The MEGASTRUCTURE was then taken over by Armin van Buuren for an historic 850th ‘A State Of Trance’ on Sunday. Surprise headliner and legendary trance group Above & Beyond joined the momentous occasion as they closed out the festival with one of the most captivating and euphoric sets of the weekend.

For the fifth year in a row Ultra Music Festival was the #1 trending topic on social platforms worldwide over the weekend, with millions of mentions across all platforms. The festival is officially and firmly down as the most tweeted about electronic music event in history.

ULTRA LIVE’s record-breaking live stream presented by UMF TV attracted over 30 million viewers from around the world, many of which tuned in for Swedish House Mafia’s Sunday night headlining set.

The Ultra Worldwide stage saw closing sets from Flosstradamus, Laidback Luke, and RL Grime throughout the weekend, while the UMF Radio Stage was taken over by respected electronic labels: Revealed and Jacked as well as LA events group Brownies & Lemonade.

After extensive coordination with various local, state and federal authorities, which collectively led the effort on executing safety and security measures and precautions, the number of arrests dropped to an all-time low, continuing the trend of declining arrests for the 5th consecutive year as reported by the Miami Herald.

Yet again, Ultra Music Festival exceeded expectations. Amongst the reunion of one of the most beloved electronic acts the world over, surprise performances from legendary artists, and unparalleled production and lighting, the festival has its sights firmly set on 2019.

Ultra Music Festival 2019 takes place on March 29, 30, 31 2019 and is an 18 + event.

Orjan Nilsen launches first single of his new album ‘Prism’!

orjan nilsen

Through the two sensational body of works he calls his own and the tens of top-drawer singles to boot, Orjan Nilsen has proven to be as versatile a producer as he is prolific.

Having delivered a plethora of iconic crowd favorites to wreak havoc on the live front in addition to a number of breezy offerings for the casual listener, the Norwegian mastermind has grown into somewhat of a chameleon, an acclaimed artist who’s able to adapt to every kind of dance music environment.

Today, Ørjan Nilsen delivered another burst of color as he emerges with ‘Million Miles Away’ (feat. Rico), the first single of his forthcoming third album called ‘Prism’.

As one of the gems featured on ‘Prism’ – which will see its release on May 18 this year – ‘Million Miles Away’ sees the Viking draw from his bottomless well of inspiration to come up with something different.

Showing off his artistic diversity as well as his peerless production skill, this hyper-catchy cut is a telling precursor for the rest of Ørjan Nilsen‘s upcoming body of work and sets the tone in exactly the right manner, with Rico’s vocals guiding the way.

Ørjan Nilsen on the inspiration for ‘Million Miles Away’:

“Ibiza is a very inspiring place for many producers and I am no different. It was after a quick visit to the island that the summer vibe had caught up with me and stuck this melody in my head. I recreated it, but it was not as perfect as I’d like it to be. This is where Rico’s vocals came in. The combination of the melody and the vocal reminds me of all things positive and summery.”

Zedd gets accused of stealing double-platinum single, “Stay” [LISTEN HERE]

via vergecampus.com

If you haven’t seen the video of Zedd showing off his $16 million house then go check it out below because it is absolutely beautiful and has sparked some animosity in the industry.

Apparently, this video has upset underground producer ABSRDST who claims that Zedd may have stolen parts of his 2014 track entitled ‘Skin Contest’. ABSRDST added a personal message explaining the spontaneous upload: “honestly I wasn’t gonna put out this video but zedd is showing off his 16 million dollar house and it put me in a bad mood.”

The track featured JSTR and was a pretty bare-bones but none the less contained a very similar chord progression and beat. He posted a video explaining why he believes the track was plagiarized and he has some valid points.

People are still debating this on Twitter so go check out what they have to say and weigh in yourself.

Music Against Animal Cruelty launches a global music directive to aid wildlife conservation

Music Against Animal Cruelty

M.A.A.C. are a non-profit organisation with one simple directive; to aid wildlife conservation. Conceived by Jonny White, international DJ and producer of Art Department and Wade Cawood, CEO/Founder of Pulse Global, the new organisation aims to raise revenue from worldwide music events, rallying support from the entire music community to aid its primary cause. White & Cawood will work alongside Jack Baucher from the Tears for Tigers Foundation.

M.A.A.C will stimulate international music fan bases and galvanise the help of the entire music industry, using a worldwide collective of likeminded individuals and influential voices. The organisation will launch valuing a trusted and united relationship with artists, DJ’s and industry alike, tapping into an indefinite network and creating a vital source of revenue for international wildlife conservation. Focussing on community led initiatives that will provide support to grassroots conservation projects and further wildlife conservation worldwide.

At the present rate, 20% of the world’s 15 million species could be gone in the next 30 years. This is an unprecedented rate of extinction, which has not been apparent since the disappearance of dinosaurs 65 million years ago.

With 50% of the world’s population living in urban areas, it may be that we are losing our connection with the natural world. It is the mission of M.A.A.C. to create opportunities for artists to travel and experience conservation for themselves.

With the music industry uniting on this global cause, ambassadors for the organisation are already coming forward, as the project garners support from many influencers in the electronic music scene including Adam Beyer, Apollonia, Art Department, Audiofly, Chris Liebing, Dubfire, Ida Engberg, Jamie Jones, Nicole Moudaber and Tiga.
