Charlotte de Witte has taken the #1 spot for Techno at DJ Mag Awards 2022

Belgian techno titan Charlotte de Witte has taken the #1 spot for Techno at DJ Mag Awards, and is the talk of Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) after her label KNTXT took over the city’s Ziggo Dome venue for a killer showcase.

Claiming #1 spot for Techno at DJ Mag Awards, it is the third year in a row Charlotte de Witte has won the highest spot for Techno in the DJ Mag Top 100 awards, firmly establishing her reputation as one of the most talented artists in the world. Furthermore, she climbs nine spots this year, settling in at #14 in this year’s main poll.

“I’m super happy to announce that I got voted best techno for this year’s DJ Mag Top 100!” Charlotte enthuses.

“It’s an absolute honor to win this award for the third year in a row now. Thank you all so much for your love and support! It means the world to me and I will never take these moments for granted” she added.

The revered DJ will soon head to South America for KNTXT showcases in Buenos Aires and São Paulo, and will play at Flanders Expo in her native Belgium on 4th February 2023.

The 2022 edition of KNTXT Ghent at Flanders Expo, saw Charlotte de Witte play a monumental 10 hour all-night set for a record breaking 20 000 capacity crowd. On February 4th 2023, KNTXT returns to this epic venue, debuting their brand new concept: KNTXT Konnected. A night filled with back to back DJ sets from Charlotte de Witte and others that will be announced soon.

Hot off the back of a successful ADE, Charlotte de Witte and her revered label KNTXT took over the famed Ziggo Dome with Awakenings on the Friday of ADE where the nine-hour party featured sets by Enrico Sangiuliano, FJAAK, I Hate Models, Indira Paganotto and ONYVAA – topped off with a memorable headline performance from de Witte herself.

She also teamed up with fashion brand Filling Pieces to create an exclusive collection, designed jointly by Charlotte and Filling Pieces founder Guillaume Philibert, which was launched at the brand’s flagship Amsterdam store during ADE. It follows the recent EP ‘Apollo‘, an uncompromising collection of club tracks released on her own label.

Charlotte de Witte has become known for her dark, stripped-back brand of techno, acid and anything high energy. She’s often crossing borders but maintains a deep form of respect for the underground. John Digweed returns with Quattro III

Bedrock Records’ acclaimed Quattro mix series returns on 3rd December with ‘Quattro III’, featuring four eclectic mixes compiled & mixed by label boss John Digweed of new and unreleased music, presented across five CDs and on Vinyl, plus digitally.

Quattro 3’ will include an exclusive artist album from UK house & techno producer / DJ Miles Atmospheric. With its warm synths, intelligent production & programming of electronic techno soul, the albumwill fit perfectly alongside the other CDs.

Artists featured across ‘Quattro III’ include David Morales, Pig&Dan, Frankey & Sandrino, Dino Lenny, Robert Babicz, SOEL, Quivver, Sasha Carrassi, and Aubrey Fry.

Presenting over 50 exclusive new tracks, spanning luscious soundscapes to more club-focused beats and Redux remixes, ‘Quattro III’ also includes a special breaks curated album of outstanding atmospheric breaks.

Simon Doty and Marsh team up for their first collaborative track, ‘Touch The Sky’

Anjunadeep label favourites Simon Doty and Marsh announce their first collaborative single, ‘Touch The Sky’, out today.

A track tried and tested on dancefloors around the world, ‘Touch The Sky‘ marks the first offering from Marsh‘s forthcoming artist album, ‘Endless‘, out Feb 2023.

Simon‘s already flying high after a summer which included standout performances at Anjuna Explorations festival in Albania, ÎleSoniq Montreal, playing to a rapt crowd of 12,000 at Anjunadeep Open Air in LA, and is ready to take on Printworks on December 9th.

Andrea Oliva remixes Black Circle & Bobbi Fallon collaborative track ‘Reasons’

Multi-talented DJ and producer, Andrea Oliva has remixed the Black Circle and Bobbi Fallon collaborative single ‘Reasons’, out now on Oliva’s All I Need label.

Ramping up the dance floor energy, Oliva’s remix transforms ‘Reasons’ into a certified peak-time viber that loses none of its poignance. A landmark record, the original marked the first release on All I Need from an artist other than Oliva.

One of the most prolific artists in the game, Black Circle has released music on a slew of esteemed dance labels, including Moon Harbour, RADIANT, FFRR and many more. His work has been supported by many of those from the scene’s upper echelons, including Carl Cox, Black Coffee and Pete Tong.

Shimza to release second official remix of WhoMadeWho & Rampa’s track ‘Everyday’

Widely regarded as one of the most important figures to emerge from Africa’s expansive electronic music scene, Shimza has already left an indelible mark on the continent’s vibrant dance music culture.

Boasting an impressive catalogue of career releases on the likes of Cadenza, Knee Deep In Sound and his very own KUNYE imprint, the highly respected South African producer now lands on Embassy One for the very first time to deliver his official remix for WhoMadeWho & Rampa’s collaborative UUUU album single, Everyday.

Out now, Shimza’s hypnotic remix sees the KUNYE label boss reimagine WhoMadeWho & Rampa’s emotive original into his own spirited offering; his deep and rhythmic house grooves providing the perfect backdrop to Tomas Høffding’s lingering vocal refrains.

Constructing an impressive assortment of rolling drum loops, sparse piano chords and stripped back samples, Shimza’s production marks the second official remix of the flourishing hit record, following the worldwide release of Jennifer Cardini’s remix on October 14.

Combining his unrelenting passion for electronic music with an inextinguishable desire to make a positive impact on his surroundings, Shimza is a totem figure in South Africa’s music scene and one of the leaders of house music in Africa.

Launching his KUNYE label (which means “together” in Xhosa/Zulu) in November 2020, the imprint now provides an important bridge between South Africa’s emerging producers and the global stage.

Making history on Nelson Mandela Day 2020, Shimza became the first artist to perform on World Heritage Site Robben Island, where the former South African President and Nobel Peace Laureate was imprisoned.

Lilly Palmer is back with ‘Resonate’, her thrilling second EP on Drumcode in 2022

Lilly Palmer’s ‘We Control’ was one of the standout moments on Drumcode this year, an exhilarating EP debut that peaked at no.1 on the Beatport techno charts and was supported by Mary Anne Hobbs on BBC Radio 6.

Since the release, Lilly‘s grown as an artist in leaps and bounds and enjoyed a huge year that’s propelled her from being one of techno’s most exciting breakout acts, to a genuine star-in-the making. From a debut Essential Mix to gigs as playing Drumcode Ibiza @ Amnesia and Drumcode OFF Sonar, right through to Creamfields and The Warehouse Project, she’s slayed all before her in 2022

Another highlight of the year was when she became the first artist to DJ at the European Space Agency (ESA) performing a streamed set in the “Hertz Room“, where they test satellites and spacecrafts. It’s these strong themes of the cosmos that inform her next EP on Drumcode, the three-tracker ‘Resonate‘.

LIZOT & Paradigm have just unveiled their infectious new single ‘Maserati’ ft. Bella X

Marking a collaboration between German hitmakers LIZOT with fellow countrymen and production duo Paradigm, they are joined by vocalist Bella X on ‘Maserati’ – delivering a fresh and infectious future player.

Solardo land on Tomorrowland Music with their new club-primed anthem ‘Angel Dust’

Globally renowned UK DJ & producer duo Solardo are unleashing their new club-primed anthem ‘Angel Dust’, released through Tomorrowland Music.

The mighty Manchester duo have curated the ultimate crowd pleaser for an energy-fueled club night, bound to captivate dancefloors in gripping fashion.

The track immediately kicks off with fast-paced drums joined by an echoing topline but quickly turns into a bass-heavy club stomper. ‘Angel Dust‘ combines electric pop beats with the right amount of dark undertones, presenting an infectious slice of dancefloor heaven.

Hailing from Manchester, Solardo have carved out a reputation for delivering an impeccable mix of anything from gritty underground tracks to hands in the air dance anthems. The electronic music duo have enjoyed two magnificent performances at Tomorrowland‘s Crystal Garden in July, making adrenaline and euphoria levels soar amongst music fans from around the world at the Belgian festival.

Nora En Pure releases her latest original record in the form of ‘Altered Destiny’

Following her recent vocal single Stop Wasting Time, multi-talented DJ and producer, Nora En Pure releases her latest original record in the form of Altered Destiny. Gracing her home imprint Enormous Tunes once again, the instrumental cut is out now across all streaming platforms.

Providing two versions of the track, the Club Mix was crafted with her live sets in mind, channelling a sense of adventure through euphoric synths, rumbling bass and playful samples. Infusing a dose of energy into her recent sets, Altered Destiny has made an instant connection with audiences and will continue to light up her sets on tour.

Flowing into the Chill Mix, choppy vocals are met with signature piano chords, groovy percussion and bouncy bass, transporting the listener beachside no matter where they are listening from.

After shows at Lifetime Festival in Eilat and Eelke Kleijn‘s Days Like Nights ADE event at RAW Factory in Amsterdam, the Helvetic Nerd is back in the US for Halloween shows in Brooklyn, Austin, Edmonton and Dallas before heading to South America for a string of shows in Bolivia, Argentina and Chile.

With over 300 million plays on Spotify and YouTube alone in 2 months, David Guetta & Bebe Rexha’s rework of Eiffel 65’s classic ‘I’m Blue (Da Ba Dee)’ has proved an immense success and one of the year’s most inescapable earworms. And what do you do when you’ve had a smash hit that deserves another go around? You get Oliver Heldens to serve up one of his hugely in-demand remixes.

This rework of ‘I’m Good (Blue)‘ centers on groovy beats bolstered by a descending bassline that has a little of Heldens‘ electro energy in it. The first break drop with the legendary piano melody twinkling under Rexha‘s powerful vocals and snarling synths before Heldens hits with a fresh, rubbery bass tone as the arrangement strips back and the kicks drop in again.

Judicious use of the vocal and pianos helps the arrangement build and the song develop towards the main break which sends euphoria levels sky-high and finally leads to the explosive climax
