elrow set to host a hair-raising Halloween virtual party, direct from Dracula’s castle

Horroween is the latest elrow Show powered by Desperados, keeping the party spirit alive with a series of virtual DJ sessions in iconic locations.

The virtual event sees house and techno DJ and producer Eats Everything deliver the beats direct from Dracula’s Castle in Transylvania into the homes of partygoers around the world.

With festivals and club nights still on hold or open with social restrictions, partygoers around the world are looking for alternative ways to keep the party going and connect with one another.

Halloween has been around for over 2,000 years and has evolved into a classic party moment for adults who put their creativity into epic costumes and turn up the beats for a one-year dose of spookiness.

With the upcoming Halloween looking a little different, Desperados and elrow are shaking things up once again to host a hair-raising Halloween virtual party, livestreamed from the devilish depths of Bran Castle in Transylvania, Romania, the home of Dracula himself.

Horroween is the latest elrow show powered by Desperados, a lockdown inspired collaboration from the pair which has seen some of the world’s best DJs take to the decks in iconic locations – including Casa Batlló, Barcelona and Cova Santa, Ibiza – with their sets livestreamed for partygoers around the world to enjoy from the safety of their own homes.

The unique session will be fronted by the legendary Eats Everything, with the acclaimed UK DJ and producer delivering an enigmatic mix spanning house and tech live and direct into the homes of revelers looking to keep the party spirit alive this Halloween.

Partygoers will experience Halloween like never before, transported from their living rooms into the ghoulish confines of elrow‘s “House of Terror“. Featuring a spooky themed décor, the space will include everything from laughing clowns to party zombies and dancefloor monsters, allowing people to re-live the fun-filled classic Halloween party spirit without leaving their home.

Diederik Vos, Global Brand Director, Desperados, commented:

Parties provide an unrivalled sense of togetherness that so many people are craving at this time. While social distancing measures remain in place, we want to find ways to reimagine these experiences for partygoers to give people a sense of connection and enjoyment, while staying safe and apart.

The elrow show powered by Desperados series has been a game-changer in keeping the party spirit going throughout lockdown, but with Halloween long being one of the biggest and most-anticipated nights in the party calendar, we wanted to take things up a notch.

The Horroween event at Bran Castle in Transylvania promises to do just that, delivering a unique virtual event from the home of Halloween itself that will enable partygoers to experience the same excitement and thrill, albeit with a twist.

“We are extremely excited for the opportunity to stream from one of the most iconic Castles in the world during this Halloween. As a kid I’ve always dreamed of something like this and despite the covid situation, in this family we will not stop creating magic moments like this!“, Juan Arnau, elrow CEO & founder, added.

The Horroween session will be hosted live on elrow‘s Facebook, Twitch and YouTube channels on Saturday 31st October 2020 from 18:00 CET. Partygoers will be able to re-live the session following the live stream on elrow‘s and Desperados‘ social channels.

David Guetta & MORTEN team up for hard-hitting Future Rave remix of ‘Let’s Love’

David Guetta Morten

David Guetta & MORTEN’s innovative Future Rave project has won plaudits far and wide, combining their love of underground and big room sounds in perfect harmony. With over 135 million streams for their tracks in just a year since launch, the project has added yet another string to Guetta’s bow.

From their tribute remix of Avicii’s ‘Heaven’ to their latest release ‘New Rave EP’, it’s been all killer, no filler and has been a hugely influential force on the sound of dance music this year.

Meanwhile his latest smash collaboration with Sia, ‘Let’s Love’, has proved another huge hit, peaking #1 on the iTunes Global Chart, #8 on the Shazam Global Chart, #5 on the European Radio Chart and #4 on the US Dance Radio Chart. With over 45 million streams, it’s one of the year’s most infectious hits. Now Guetta and MORTEN apply the Future Rave filter to this beautiful, powerful track and take it down a much darker route.

A spacious sound greets you from the beginning, as slices of Sia’s vocals are delayed over thumping kicks and haunting drone textures. The first break messes with the tempo, dropping it down to provide extra tension before a mighty snare roll drives the BPMs back up. A moment of pure silence gives even more drama before a throbbing monotone bassline burrows its way through the track. The dark techno feel is only a tease of what’s to come, snatched away as we reach the glorious main breakdown where Sia’s glorious refrain soars into the skies.

The slo-mo trick is used again to brilliant effect as brooding, widescreen bass tones hover intensely in the background. The distorted, bleeping electro riff that cuts through the mix unexpectedly is the icing on the cake, completing the dystopian, industrial feel of this big room smash. Snatches of euphoric melody are dashed in to tease the listener further.

Eric Prydz has finally released the fan favorite track NOPUS

eric prydz

Superstar DJ and producer, Eric Prydz has released the fan favorite track NOPUS on Ministry of Sound Records/Three Six Zero Recordings. It’s been one of Prydz’s most requested IDs and releases since he first debuted it at a live show in 2016.

NOPUS is the first original release from the Swedish producer under his full name Eric Prydz since his album Opus was released in 2016.

Prydz decided to release NOPUS in response to fan’s demand on social media over the course of the past few months. He and his team created a music video shot at some of Prydz groundbreaking live shows over the last few years, with the hope that people could relive and recollect their NOPUS memories, with live events currently shuttered.

The NOPUS release continues Prydz’s long-standing tradition of producing tracks specifically created for his live shows. Prydz track IDs have become notorious, and are clamoured for amongst Prydz fans and wider DJs alike, but Prydz typically holds onto them for months or in many cases years before releasing them, if he releases them at all.

Although it’s been several years since Eric Prydz released under his own name, he has consistently been releasing tracks under his progressive house alias Pryda and his techno moniker CirezD.

Prydz’s live shows, which have featured numerous iterations under the EPIC banner, have become some of the most respected and admired in music, breaking technical boundaries and wowing fans and the industry alike. He most recently debuted his EPIC 6.0 HOLOSPHERE show at Tomorrowland 2019, which The Verge noted, ‘pushed the limits of how tech and music interact.’

Sailor & I announces album and shares first single ‘Thinking About You’

Sailor & I

Sweden’s Sailor & I begins to tease his much-anticipated new album on Get Physical’s freshly launched and exciting sister label METAPHYSICAL with a first single from it. The fantastic ‘Thinking About You’ is out now, with the full album, Diving For Lost Treasure, due in January 2021.

Swedish singer, producer and instrumentalist Sailor & I, is renowned for his outstanding live act having performed worldwide at key clubs and festivals. This multi-faceted artist has worked and performed alongside some of the industry’s finest names including Paul Woolford, DJ Tennis and M83 and has released an album and singles on Skint, Life and Death and Black Butter.

The album itself finds the artist really going beyond his own limitations of being both songwriter, producer and artist. A friend Tobias Kampe-Flygare helped Sailor & I finish the productions in his studio in East London so it embodies the energy of three cities it was written in – the sleepless, hungry heart of Berlin, the busy London and the endless light of Scandinavian midsummer that is so special in Stockholm. It was made using old analogue gear with no samples and all instruments were recorded one by one, the traditional way.

Alexander states, “This made me pick up my first instrument guitar, which I hadn’t played for years. Releasing a track with only solo guitar, was like going back to where I once started musically and gave me a lot of new perspectives on songwriting and producing.

I realised that I had stories to tell that was important for me on a personal level. Making an album with these stories would be the ultimate way to face myself and to deal with the challenges I’ve been through most recently. I believe we managed to create a universe for the songs to exist in, where they can get older and older each year and still be sounding freshly made.

The magical ‘Thinking About You‘ is an idyllic pop-dance combination that has catchy vocal hooks that you will keep singing long after you hear them. The gorgeous piano chords compliment the breezy, heartfelt vocals and ride on a gently uplifting beat that is filled with a feel good vibe. The whole track washes over you like a warm ray of sun and leaves you feeling cleansed and content.

This is a great taster that whets the appetite for more singles to come later this year ahead of the full album in January.

Ferry Corsten explores his deeper side with ‘Our Moon’

ferry corsten
via Sean Nunley

Having used this year to continue to innovate and push the boundaries with his sound, Ferry Corsten reveals his latest output, ‘Our Moon’, a strong vocal offering featuring the powerful vocals of Lovlee.

Ferry opened the year with the release of his ambient album ‘As Above So Below‘ under his FERR alias, an album which saw Ferry delve deeper into his love of orchestral and film music. That experimentation has continued throughout 2020, most recently with ‘Black Lion‘, a breaks number written in collaboration with EJECA‘s Trance Wax moniker.

Our Moon‘ highlight’s Ferry Corsten‘s years of experience in the studio, as he is able to coax old-school trance elements to sit seamlessly alongside newer sounds. The result is a refreshing cut that is both forward thinking whilst also staying true to his roots, and displays the evolution of an artist who has been allowed the freedom to experiment in the studio in recent months.

The single combines luscious elements with a retro flavour which provide the bed for Lovlee‘s vocal prowess to shine. A repeating filtered melody works well with a round bassline that bounces around and contributes to the track’s impressive groove. The amalgamation of old and new culminates in a single that balances a feeling of introspection with hope, the perfect sonic representation of recent months, equally at home on the radio as it is on festival fields and club spaces.

On ‘Our Moon‘, Ferry Corsten said:

“The lyrics on my new single ‘Our Moon’ reflects on recent months. With the timbre of Lovlee’s soothing voice, I knew where I wanted to go with the style of this track; taking it into that warm, embracing sound that triggers all those emotions of longing for summer vibes again. I’m excited to be sharing this one with you guys!”

Lovlee commented on writing the song;

“‘Our Moon’ was written & inspired by special memories that were made under the moon, with the intention to help others escape to their own memories under that same moon. I held onto the song’ for a long time, waiting for a producer to come along who believed in it as much as I did. Ferry sparked an interest and blew me away with his unique, beautiful production. It was a pleasure working with him and I believe he could see how special this track was going to be.”

Ferry Corsten has worked hard to utilise the extra time in the studio this year, and the resulting musical output has seen Ferry excel on every level, providing fans and new listeners alike with cutting-edge music that cements his position at the forefront of electronic music.

Our Moon‘, along with projects such as the UNITY fan collaboration and ambient album, have allowed Ferry to channel his innate musical creativity in new and exciting ways, and ensure he proceeds to deliver compelling new projects that keeps fans on their toes.
