Meduza, Becky Hill and Goodboys release Part 2 of remix package for ‘Lose Control’

Meduza, Becky Hill and Goodboys

Meduza, Becky Hill and Goodboys have unveiled the second part of a remix package for their single ‘Lose Control’, out now.

Part two of the remix package opens with a dynamic remix collaboration between ChildsPlay & Badd Dimes who deliver an intense dancefloor stomper. Next up, Marcus Santoro opts for an emotive, melodic version destined to peak the most euphoric of atmospheres. Finally, the inimitable Pink Panda take from their far-reaching touring experience, turning ‘Lose Control‘ into a lighter, more airy club pumper, ready for the spring uplift in mood.

Released in October, ‘Lose Control‘ followed on from ‘Piece Of Your Heart‘, Meduza‘s world-dominating debut single that clocked up over a billion combined streams since its release and received a GRAMMY nomination. The summer smash went diamond, multi-platinum and gold worldwide, including in the UK where it sold over 900,000 units and peaked at #2 in the UK Singles Charts and #1 in the US Dance Charts. The record also reached Top 10 status in the Official Charts in over 12 countries globally.

British artist and songwriter Becky Hill is one of the UK’s upcoming stars and hitmakers, known for her heartfelt, powerful vocals and songwriting on tracks like 2019’s breakthrough solo hit ‘I Could Get Used This‘, recent top ten hit ‘Wish You Well‘ (With Sigala), worldwide hit ‘False Alarm‘ (with Matoma), certified platinum hits UK #1 single ‘Gecko (Overdrive)‘ (with Oliver Heldens) and top ten hit ‘Afterglow‘ (with Wilkinson) and 2018’s UK top 20 gold-certified hit ‘Back & Forth‘ (with MK and Jonas Blue), Becky’s second collaboration with MK, following the pair’s success with their 2016 Gold-certified hit ‘Piece of Me‘.

After an electric debut with Meduza, Goodboys who featured on ‘Piece Of Your Heart‘ style their signature vocal hooks throughout with a harmonic tone, perfectly balancing the energy of the track and further cementing reputation as one of the most in-demand artists in dance music through their understanding of how to write incredibly catchy hooks to mesmerize the audience into repeating as soon as the first listen.

Three more remixes of this summer smash mean Meduza fans can start 2020 as they mean to go on, with Meduza providing the soundtrack.

Le Youth teams up with Adam Rom for a brand new single ‘Obvious’

le youth

LA DJ and producer Le Youth has reworked ‘Obvious’, the modern pop track initially released by Adam Rom, out today via Universal Music.

Harnessing a deeply emotional orchestral vibe, Le Youth adds an added layer of wistfulness, without losing the fresh pop sheen of the original. Le Youth stumbled upon the track online and decided to put his own twist on it, with Adam loving it so much that the pair pushed for an official release.

Citing the likes of Justin Bieber, Flume and Diplo as inspiration, Adam‘s original came draped in catchy pop sensibilities, with the track generating a buzz after featuring on ITV2 reality TV show Love Island.

First catching the attention of the blogosphere with his 2013 hit ‘C O O L’, Le Youth has since found success via ‘Dance With Me’, both of which topped BBC Radio 1’s A-List. Furthermore, he has had Spotify chart success with singles ‘If You’re Leaving’, ‘Me Without You’ and ‘I Could Always’ featuring MNDR.

More recently he signalled a change in musical direction, collecting lots of analogue music-making equipment and helping rediscover the true essence of dance music. The coming year will be one to watch for Le Youth and his musical output on This Never Happened, Island Records and 3Beat.

Catch him on the road supporting Lane 8 on his Brightest Lights Tour 2020, as well as his own headline dates in February, March & April 2020 with new residencies confirmed at Elsewhere in Brooklyn, NY and the iconic Audio in San Francisco.

As a budding artist with flair for creativity, outside of music Adam engages with his passion for art and fashion design. He employs a combination of his artistic elements as motivation to succeed, and seamlessly traverses between pop and electronic styles, creating a unique signature sound. As a multidisciplinary artist in the true sense of the term, Adam is a young talent in possession of all the attributes necessary to become a star.

A stunning collaboration between two bright and bold musical talents, Le Youth‘s version of ‘Obvious‘ brings new lease of life to the track.

Chus & Ceballos’ “All I Want” revives to celebrate Stereo’s 20th anniversary

Oscar L, Dee Montero and David Morales have signed a new round of remixes of what is one of Nómadas’ most iconic tracks, from Chus & Ceballos’ album released back in 2015.

We’re going back in time to 2015 to place ourselves during the release of “All I Want” feat Astrid Suryanto‘. A track that was Nómadas’ fourth single, Chus & Ceballos‘ first album after more than 15 years of producing. An LP that was born under the inspiration for their performance at Burning Man and that resulted in an outstanding project.

Now, for Stereo‘s 20th anniversary, it’s time that “All I Want” lives a second golden age with a new load of remixes. Back then it was Technasia, Henry Saiz & Marc Marzenit and Fernando Campos that were on remix duties remixes. Now it’s Oscar L, Dee Montero and David Morales who will be taking over those duties.

“All I Want” Remixes

If the original track was characterized by an organic and ethereal rhythm, Oscar L takes it to more earthly lands where the vocals transfer the prominence to the percussion. That added to the synthetic hints results in a strong and quick track.

Dee Montero gives to the track his characteristic sparkle right from the start with a new deep nature. Sharper than the original, the track still has persistence. David Morales, on his side, gives us two reinterpretations. The first one a Red Zone Dub in science fiction code. A track in which the prominence is the percussion resulting in the almost total disappearance of vocals. And the second one a Diridimi in which the vocals get their presence back, but at the same time the percussion is lightened with the introduction of more air.

This “All I Want” ‘s new round of remixes is available on Stereo from 2nd of January.

Depaart are back to Sasha’s Last Night On Earth with their latest track ‘Migrate’

Depaart

Guille and Fran Zaragoza, the artistic duo better known as Depaart, are without a doubt leaving a permanent mark in the electronic music scene.

The duo from Madrid, who just keep rising, released “Do It Like You Do” with Lauer and Tuff City Kids‘ remixes on Sincopat a few months ago.

Depaart, nevertheless, instead of dancing to the sweet smell of success, locked themselves in the studio to work. The result is “Migrate“, their second EP on Last Night On Earth.

Sasha‘s label has taken the duo under its wing not just supporting them with this second release, but also including them in its parties. Depaart was part of LNOE‘s Amsterdam showcase last month.

Migrate” is formed by three original tracks and one remix. The opening is the homonymous track, a song full of personality and intensity that lays the foundations for Depaart‘s new dimension, which, at the same time, seems to not stop evolving.

Malvatis” takes over and it does it with an almost never ending succession of layers that add mystery and enigma to this underworld. The EP continues with “Sunk“, a track that with its strength secures this new path. The release ends with a “Migrate” remix by Kiwi where originality and breaks are the absolute starring figures.

And Depaart‘s activity doesn’t end here. The duo has managed to conquer Madrid’s audience with Tortilla and Fluido, their two weekly parties. Although, to be honest, the duo’s charm breaks boundaries. In fact, Depaart is ready to face some hectic weeks with performances in Dubai, Maurice Islands, Ibiza (Heart Ibiza) and Berlin (Katerblau).

Exclusive Interview with the organizers behind Mexico’s dance music jewel, Project Sound

Our team had the great pleasure to sit down with the organizers behind Mexico’s dance music jewel, Project Sound.

Project Sound have been creating special, high-quality events at the Riviera Maya for more than 12 years. They are always respectful of the magic of the Mayan land and put together tasteful line ups in unreal locations, always with a focus on world class sound and production.

We had a conversation about their incredible parties in Tulum, their team, what’s their plan for the future and many more.

Check out the interview below!

Hi guys, thanks for taking the time to talk to us. We wanted to chat to you about your involvement in running parties. How did it all start?

PS: Our project started in 2007. We were a group of people that wanted to bring something new to our city that was somehow neglected and forgotten in México.

Our only goal was to provide and give our public the best experience in every night, and with every party, we have learnt more about our family and we keep improving all the time for them.

Can you tell us a bit about your team and who does what?

PS: Our project is formed by Flavio Navarro as director, Joe Guiness, Holder, Carla Constantino as coordinator for logistics and production, the production team of Loa produccions, Contraluz and Octopus.

Obviously we’re chatting to you today as you’re running parties in Tulum. Can you tell us a bit about how you settled on the sight for the parties? Have you hosted parties there before?

PS: Yes, we have been around the party in Quintana Roo for more than 10 years. We started making parties in Playa and that’s how we came up with the idea of moving forward under new places like Tulum. Because we wanted to promote new places in Mexico and maybe one of the most beautiful places in the world. .

Can you talk us through some of the complexities of running parties there? Are for example, the local authorities, supportive of what you do?

PS: Unfortunately, the mexican government is not really supportive. Not all of the people see the benefits in the creation of these experiences. Still we are not alone in feeling the necessity of doing this.

The legal process is complicated but that unifies us as the project we are.

Our team believes that living in Mexico comes with a fighting for the experience tag price and we are people that want to change this.

Looking back on your time running events, what would you say is the highlight of the past few years?

PS: This scene has been constantly changing in a good way, getting bigger and bigger. I remember like 3 years ago we were hosting a party “Dynamic in the jungle” and there was just less than 600 people, and for this year we are expecting thousands for the Solomun party.

You’re hosting parties including the likes of Solomun and Dixon over the next while. So what do you generally look for when brining artists over?

PS: Making sure everyone feels happy and comfortable with the invitation in the places we work on for, and good audio. That’s a must in our parties.

And what is it about these guys that you think works so well in a setting like Tulum?

PS: I think is the symbiosis between the vibe out there and the music guidance they bring here, it’s really a magic place.

We believe you’re also involved in running a new club in the area. Can you tell us a bit about that?

PS: Two places in fact ,called Xunanha and Radhoo. They were made with the vision for keeping a constantly community because of the recent situation in Tulum, there’s a community growing super fast.

Our purpose is to integrate the night lifestyle that we deliver every event but in a smaller place.

Do you generally get to let your hair down for a while once the party kicks off? Or is it more the case that you’re working throughout?

PS: I’m into caring my hair, jaja , always giving my best to deliver. For our team is going all or going home.

Can you also tell us a bit about what else you have coming up over the next few months?

PS: Busy and excited, always interested and available into making something.

And finally, how would you best sum up the parties that you guys run?

PS: We love bringing this home.

Many thanks!

Skrillex faces heat for standing on DJ Equipment during his performance in China

Skrillex photo by Rukes

After a recent performance in China, DJ and producer, Skrillex posted a video to his Instagram profile that has slowly gained some negative attention. The video shows Skrillex standing on top of the CDJ equipment while playing his hit, ‘Chicken Soup’.

Some people have viewed this just as a funny way to party, and others are on the completely opposite side of things.

The video has since been retweeted on Twitter and some users immediately pointed out the fact that this isn’t the first Skrillex has done this to equipment. Another point a user made was the comparison to rockstars smashing their guitars after a performance.

What’s also funny about the whole thing is that Skrillex has a video already on his Instagram of his mixer cutting out while playing chicken soup at another performance.

Martin Garrix and Matisse & Sadko team up for a brand new track ‘Hold On’

martin garrix girlfriend

Martin Garrix and Matisse & Sadko return for one more huge track in 2019 in the form of ‘Hold On’ featuring Swedish star Michel Zitron.

The most anticipated and requested ID from Garrix‘s spectacular RAI Amsterdam show during Amsterdam Dance Event, it’s a late contender for one of the tracks of year.

The track was something the friends worked on during ADE and the first version that’s heard in Martin‘s set was finished just a few hours before he premiered it. Such was his belief and confidence in this new track that he had no worries about testing it out immediately. It follows on a similar vein to previous smashes ‘Mistaken‘ and ‘High On Life’.

Here’s what they had to say about their brand new collaboraton:

Matisse & Sadko: “It’s become a tradition to collaborate with Martin in the studio just before ADE every autumn and we love this tradition. We were happy to work with such exceptionally talented writers as Michel Zitron and John Martin. A lot of versions were made and all of them were ideal. It was really hard to choose only one!”

Martin Garrix: I always love working with my good friends Matisse & Sadko and I was super excited to test the track during my show at Amsterdam Dance Event! The response of all the fans was amazing!

LA’s talented ‘AFSHEEN’ is back with gorgeous new single ‘Dancing With You’

AFSHeeN

LA’s AFSHEEN has done it again. The force behind glorious tracks like ‘Don’t Lose Love’ with Quintino & Cher Lloyd on Spinnin’ Records and ‘Creatures Of The Night’ with Rebecca Ferguson on Armada, he has a real knack of working with pop’s finest vocalists to create sweet dance-pop tracks that place melody and songwriting at the heart of their DNA.

Dancing With You‘ is another spectacular creation from this talented producer, showing off everything that makes him such a captivating artist. A cute, muted melody twinkles over hazy synth chords in the intro, setting the scene for the hushed, sensual male vocal. Finger clicks and gently pattering hi-hats give a taste of the beat as melodic harmonies bolster the vocal.

A phat house beat drops out of nowhere with a rubbery, gently distorted electro house bassline. Vocal chants and shrieks stab their way excitedly through the beat as shimmering delays of the ‘dancing with you refrain’ echo through the track. That cute melody sneaks back in while flecks of summery guitar-style string plucks waft over the stereo field.

A dulcet breakdown with piano chords and vocals lets you catch your breath before one more rousing crescendo. The final vocal layer that’s added is a heavenly cherry on the top of this gorgeous track, as are the subtle, jaunty synth chords and sweet vocoders in the final section.
