Burning Man exodus: 9 hours wait during search for a missing teenager [PHOTOS]

Along with Entry, Exodus (i.e. leaving Burning Man) is potentially the most painful part of the event if you hate lines.

Sunday night was a traffic nightmare as Burning Man organizers closed the gates for several hours to search for a 17-year-old girl who had gone missing, creating a 9 hours wait for those seeking to leave the event.

The girl, who apparently attended the festival was found safe on the playa, according to a Burning Man spokesman.

But the traffic didn’t stop Sunday after the missing girl was found. “Prime time” traffic kicked up on Monday, with organizers encouraging people to wait until Tuesday to leave

Some people missed their flights, according to social media, while others fell asleep behind the wheel as they waited for traffic to clear, the Gazette-Journal reports.

According to Gazzete-Journal, one festival-goer counted 18 rows of cars that stretched two miles deep on Sunday afternoon as the temporary city of 70,000 people came to an end. Organizers metered the vehicles leaving the playa to relieve pressure on the single two-lane highway that leads out of the Black Rock Desert.

428 People Arrested During Electronic Dance Music Festival In Devore

Hundreds of people were arrested and five were hospitalized over the weekend as thousands descended on Devore for a Nocturnal Wonderland festival, authorities announce Monday.

According to San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, by 2 a.m. Monday, 428 festival goers had been arrested on various drug and alcohol related charges, and on suspicion of trespassing, up more than a hundred compared to the same festival last summer.

Approximately 111 people were arrested Friday, and an additional 141 arrests were made on Saturday. On Sunday, the final day of the three-day festival, authorities made 176 arrests, brining the total to 428.

Authorities arrested 428 people who were trying to enter the concert grounds, for alleged drug possession, drug sales, assault and battery, resisting arrest, and being under the influence of drugs or alcohol, the statement said.

On Sunday, Nocturnal Wonderland festival was attended by 25,762 people.

Drug-Testing Group Have Issued a Warning About TESLA Pills

Drug safety non-profit organisation The Loop took to Twitter to put out a warning regarding an orange Tesla pills. They continue to do a stellar job keeping users, ravers, party goers and the public at large informed on all things MDMA.

They warned that the orange Tesla pill contains a high MDMA content of 240mg of MDMA per pill. The average amount in most pills is normally 80-100 mg, yet increasingly measurements in excess of 200 mg are being recorded. Obviously this is an incredibly substantial amount, making the pills potentially dangerous if consumed irresponsibly.

The pills were tested by Safer Party in Zurich this summer and the results are now being shared across social media to enhance drug safety awareness.

The pills are orange and shield-like in shape, and according to reports they also glow under a black light.

Although security is super tight this year, arrests are mounting up at the first day of Nocturnal Wonderland festival at the San Manuel Amphitheater in Devore.

111 festival goers were arrested for various violations as they attempted to entered the festival area, including one person booked on suspicion of driving under the influence after the attendee crashed into a marked sheriff’s traffic unit working the event. During one arrest a sheriff’s deputy was injured and taken to a hospital. He was later released with minor injuries.

Officials with Nocturnal Wonderland promoters Live Nation and Insomniac, and the Sheriff’s Department tried to keep the problems outside the gates.

Vehicles entering the campgrounds – which are under video surveillance – were searched. Guests had to show identification proving they were at least 18 at one checkpoint, and their bags were searched for drugs, weapons and other prohibited items and their bodies patted down at another.

Once inside the gates, deputies handed out cards warning of the danger of the drug ecstasy.

Paul van Dyk says his account was hacked following racist tweet

DJ Paul van Dyk has said his Twitter account was hacked after a vile racist message was posted on his profile.

A recent tweet from the German trance producer’s social media page read: “RULE #1: No black people allowed at concerts from this point on. No exceptions.” 

“The messages posted were deeply offensive and contrary to everything Paul has stood for in his decades-long career,” said a statement from a representative for Paul van Dyk.

The tweet was later deleted, with the DJ clarifying: “Hi guys, yes my account got hacked, the whole team is working to get it back under control. Thanks for your messages.”

It’s Official : Electric Forest will expand to 8-days in 2017

Electric Forest, one of West Michigan’s biggest music festivals is getting even bigger next year.

Earlier this week, it was reported that the Electric Forest had submitted permits to hold back-to-back weekends next summer, and now it appears the city council has approved their request.

The two weekends for next year are June 22 – 25 and June 29 – July 2. Capacity for each weekend next summer will be reduced by 10 percent, but combined, the festival will no doubt bring tens of thousands more festival-goers to the area.

Floating festivals are all the rage right now, and none have a grander vision than Shipsomnia.

The Tomorrowland of the Seas has returned. The music and arts festival which takes place aboard a majestic cruise ship called Brilliance Of The Seas, will sail from Barcelona to Ibiza and Sète before heading back to the Catalonian capital.

The festival’s theme this year will be “The Tale Of The Kraken” and it’ll have a specific focus on impressive art installations and immersive decor. Music will come from DJs on a par with Pete Tong, Claptone and DJ Marky, who all played the 2016 chapter of the festival earlier this year.

A band of hooligans destroy White Ocean Camp at Burning Man

In a world full of negativity and judgment, Burning Man is a place where everyone can be loved and accepted, place where you can soak up the effervescent rays radiating from the collective burner vibes. A place where you can just enjoy yourself with people who share the same passion as you. This unfortunately did not turn out to be the case for one of the larger camps at the Nevada’s Black Rock Desert.

A camp called White Ocean which was created by friends from all over the globe to connect and create an experience for all burners new and old to enjoy, seem to have sabotaged after a night out enjoying the Playa.

White Ocean said in a statement that a band of hooligans raided their camp, stole from them, pulled and sliced all of their electrical lines.

Burning Man festival-goers have been injured after a theme camp collapsed

A Burning Man theme camp collapsed earlier this week, injuring six and requiring that one festival attendee be airlifted out of the desert for medical treatment.

They were transported to Rampart, the onsite medical facility at Burning Man, according to Burning Man spokesman Jim Graham. He said one person received X-rays on-site and the rest of the injuries were minor.

The structure was part of a theme camp — not one of the giant art projects that cover the Playa — but their officials are not saying at this time which camp exactly. Event organizers have closed the structure.

Medical staff at Burning Man treat several thousand people each year, according to post-event reports. The majority of incidents involve people with minor injuries, such as scrapes and burns, as well as dehydration. Staff also see their share of participants who are heavily intoxicated by alcohol or drugs.
