Look inside Burning Man’s Boeing 747 nightclub [VIDEO]

burning man 2017

On August 28, Burning Man officially kicked off. This gathering is iconic for many reasons, aside from the music, artwork is exquisitely represented in every art form.

This year, the artist collective Big Imagination Foundation gutted a Boeing 747 jumbo jet, tricked it out with lots of lights and lounges, and transported it over 500 miles to Nevada’s Black Rock Desert. Called “The 747 Project”, the converted airplane is a highlight among various art installations at the nine-day festival.

The plane’s tail and side wings have been removed or clipped, with the upper deck modified to be an open air rooftop area. The indoor cabins and chairs have been replaced with lounge chairs and couches where people of the desert can relax and enjoy the view from above the ground. The 50-ton plane will be traveling around Black Rock City as pulled by an aircraft tug car.

Now, the creative organisation is inviting fans on board for an inspirational journey.

Festival goers will drop their “emotional baggage” and the “insecurity checkpoint” and climb on board for daily talks in the first-class lounge and musical performances at night.

Two of the biggest EDM festivals look set to be banned

Two of the biggest EDM festivals, Sunburn and VH1 Supersonic look set to be banned. Goa Tourism Minister Dilip Parulekar has proposed a ban due to critics complaining about the influx of tourists they bring.

Parulekar said: “We are seriously thinking not to allow mega events like EDM festivals between December 15 and January 15 every year as the state witnesses a rush of tourists during that time who arrive here to usher in the New Year.”

He added that if the organisers want, they can have their event before December 15 or after January 15, when the peak tourism season is over.

Both the organisers have already moved an application seeking permission to host the festival this year.

“The panel has asked them to submit their proposed dates for holding the event. We have also conveyed the organisers to consider holding the events before December 15 or post January 15 to reduce further pressure on the state machinery,” the minister said.

The RAVE goes on: Electric Forest is expanding to two weekends

It appears that the Midwest’s beloved Electric Forest festival is taking a notes from Coachella and Tomorrowland and expanding the festival to two weekends in a row, The Festive Owl is reporting.

According to The Festive Owl, Electric Forest has submitted permits for back to back weekends in 2017. As of now, the permits have been signed but not yet approved, although approval is widely expected.

It remains to be seen what Electric Forest has up its sleeve for the next year, but all signs are pointing to a very different experience than years past.

Imagine Festival receives noise complaints from 3 different counties [VIDEO]

Henry County and Clayton residents who live in the vicinity of Atlanta Motor Speedway had to listen to music from a festival they never bought tickets to.

The Imagine Music Festival was held August. 26 to 28 at the complex located in Henry County. An estimated 20,000 people attended the event each day. While festival-goers may have enjoyed the gig, nearby residents were frustrated and angry at the level of noise that was heard miles from the AMS throughout the weekend.

“If you live two counties away and it would take you almost thirty minutes to drive there,” said Cathy Bonner, a Fayetteville resident, “You shouldn’t be able to hear the drums and bass pounding until 3 a.m. for three nights in a row.”

Bonner lives 10 miles away from the Atlanta Motor Speedway.

She said she called police who said they were getting several complaints about the noise.

Imagine Festival responded to a 11 Alive’s request for comment, saying:

“We want to thank those that attended Imagine Music Festival this weekend. We are grateful for the support we have had and appreciate the understanding of our fans, as we adjust to a new, larger venue. With a successful Imagine Music Festival completed, we realize there were certain opportunities and challenges facing us that will need to be immediately addressed and remedied.

While many of these issues are no different than those that face any outdoor festival, Imagine Music Festival holds itself to a higher standard and we are taking steps to ensure that these are not a part of the festival in 2017. Top of these is the fan concerns voiced through the festival website and social media pages. While certain claims have already been identified as not holding any validity, we take this very seriously and will be looking into to every claim individually”.

Q-DANCE Produces Spectacular ‘End Show’ at Mysteryland 2016 [VIDEO]

Mysteryland Q Dance

Extreme insanity with the Saturday “End Show” of Q-Dance at Mysteryland 2016 the Dutch edition.

The Q-Dance stage at Mysteryland was sick this year, more than 60,000 festival goers were treated to a jaw-dropping ending show where the entire production came to life. With a massive amount of lasers surrounding the stage doubled up with some serious pyrotechnic power, CO2 and flame cannons, sparklers and several other thematic elements added to the gargantuan production for the crowd to witness.

It’s hard to believe that people show up for the music when the stage, pyrotechnics, lasers and lights are so visually stunning.

Even if hardstyle isn’t your thing, we strongly encourage you to sit all the way through this video cause it’s breathtaking.

♫ This video features the following tracks:
1. Gojira – Backbone
2. The Prodigy – Voodoo People (Ran-D Rework)
3. Alan Walker – Faded (The Viper & Shades Bootleg)
4. ACDC – Highway to Hell
5. Audiotricz & Demi Kanon – TBA

Fan risks death to climb 100ft tower at Avicii’s last show [VIDEO]

A fan risked death to himself and others by climbing a 100ft tower during Avicii‘s last ever show gig at Tennent’s Vital music festival near Belfast.

A video circulating online from Avicii‘s last gig shows a man climbed a 100-foot pole next to a set of speakers to dance. The owner of the video said that people all around were stopping and turning around to look at him.

SDLP Councillor Paul McCusker said:

“I was shocked to see this video, this person could have killed themselves or certainly endangered the lives of others. Thousands of people come from all over the country to Tennent’s Vital and enjoy the music from world-renowned artists. This behaviour is totally unacceptable and thankfully no one was killed or seriously hurt.”

Mad Decent’s Artist Pronounced Dead After Fatal Car Accident

Samisoni Koroitamudu, also known as Big Makk, an Florida DJ and member of the Mad Decent roster of artists, has reportedly died in a car crash this morning in Casselberry, Florida.

It happened on Lake Drive near All Faiths Memorial Park Cemetery in Casselberry shortly before 7 a.m. when a Dodge Charger carrying three passengers crashed into a tree across causing the car to incinerate and take the lives of all inside.

Police said it’s possible speed played a factor.

“I don’t see any physical evidence in the roadway of braking; usually there would be some skid marks,” said Sgt. William Nas.

Big Makk, who was one of the early innovators of the moombahton EDM sub-genre, started his path toward a career in DJing at the age of 13 when he began spinning hip-hop. He also hosted a weekly “Shake ‘n’ Bass” night in Orlando, which was still running up until his loss of life.

Our thoughts go out to his family and friends

A GoFundMe has been set up to support Big Makk’s family and cover any funeral costs. You can donate here.

A 26-year-old man was found dead by police on Friday night at British electronic dance music festival, Creamfields 2016 near Warrington.

Cheshire Police were called to concerns for a man in one of the Creamfields’ campsites. A 26-year-old man from the Cornwall area was found dead, and the cause of his death is not yet confirmed, because the police are awaiting the results of a post mortem.

“Cheshire Police are reminding people attending Creamfields that we want them to have a great time, but do so safely. Officers continue to take positive action against those who risk others’ lives by attempting to bring illegal drugs onto site” A spokesman for the Cheshire Police said.

“The constabulary wants to remind people that drug supply at Creamfields will not be tolerated, and officers will take robust action where necessary. Last night, we were notified following concerns for a man in one of the campsites and, sadly, a 26-year-old man from the Cornwall area passed away”

“Formal ID is to take place and we are awaiting the results of the post mortem examination to establish the cause of death. Our thoughts are with his family at this time” he added.

Man accused of attempted murder asks judges to attend EDM festival before jail

A man charged with attempted murder has been refused High Court permission to attend a Creamfields EDM festival in England.

The defendant, Remy Lafferty, is accused of murder by stabbing someone in the neck with an umbrella shaft in a drunken attack outside a bar in Portstewart. Because he has purchased tickets to Creamfields, is asking for more lenient bail conditions that would allow him to attend the festival.

Lafferty was also seeking to have an alcohol ban temporarily suspended so he could take drink during the gigs.

But dismissing the application, Mr Justicer Treacy said: “I’m not prepared to let him attend a music festival where inevitably there will be irresistible and unpoliceable temptations.” The judge added: “He had plenty of time to sell the tickets in the meantime.”
