Creamfields 2018 festival unveils mind blowing new structure – “SILO”

creamfields silo

When it comes to innovative and cutting-edge production, no festival in the world leads the way like Creamfields, and the 2018 edition is no exception, as the fields of Daresbury welcomes a new landmark this year as the award winning festival has just unveiled SILO – the first truly 360 degree, stadium-like structure and the first of three all new arenas to be revealed this year.

After 12 months of planning, setting out to create a fully immersive structure, something dark, intimate and completely different to any other festival stage, SILO was born. A cylindrical chamber, with a bespoke sound and light experience, designed to envelope the audience as a result, offering a truly immersive 360 experience that will prove to be an all round assault on the senses.

From the days of the Roman Colosseum, experiencing live events “in the round” has been a sure-fire way to feel part of the action.

Creamfields Silo

The Silo structure builds on this concept by providing a 40m wide circular dancefloor, with towering walls and a vast cylindrical space and tiered viewing platforms giving festival goers a unique aerial view taking the party to the next level…literally!

Despite a 360 wall of sound and custom video, 140 hybrid strobes and 80 moving lights, the show design will be simple: dark, underground and immersive offering a truly unique audio, visual experience.

World DJ No.1 Martin Garrix joins David Guetta for EXIT Festival closing show!

To celebrate the Best Major European Festival title, EXIT will throw a massive party for its grand finale! The closing night of the Serbian mammouth festival, scheduled for Sunday, July 15th, will feature shows by powerful acts such as invincible global hitmaker David Guetta at Main Stage and the leading techno star Nina Kraviz at festival’s Dance Arena. However, this party could not be the same without the officialy World No. 1 DJ Martin Garrix, who decided to follow up his Winter Olympic Games with the closing of the Best Major European Festival.

The Dutch will bring his spectacular show to the movie-like setting of the colossal Petrovaradin Fortress where EXIT takes place for almost two decades now, featuring some of the world’s biggest stars this year like Migos, Grace Jones, Fever Ray and hundreds more on 20+ stages. This will be one of only few opportunities this year to see Guetta and Garrix play the same stage on the same night, while their two recent collaborations “Like I Do” and “So Far Away” are dominating radio airplay throughout the world!

Being the youngest to receive the recognition, for two years in a row, Garrix has held the prestigious first place of DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs list, ahead of the artists like Tiesto, Calvin Harris, Armin Van Buuren, Hardwell, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Eric Prydz and many more.

Not even 22 yet, he managed to accomplish much more than some musicians do for their entire career, and unlike a large number of young stars, Martin Garrix expertly leads his way through the labyrinth of the music industry, releasing dancefloor hits which together have several billion YouTube views! His influence was recognized by the “Bible of Business”, Forbes magazine, which placed him on the list of the most influential people under 30 years of age, while he is also among the Top 10 most paid DJs on the planet.

Garrix exploded on the music scene in 2013 with the gigantic dance hit “Animals” which conquered the international top lists and has over billion YouTube views! This lead to residencies on Ibiza and Vegas, but also collaborations with stars such as Tiësto, Avicii and Usher. With the hit titled “In the Name of Love” a collaboration with Bebe Rexha, published in 2016, his horizons significantly expanded. The video and audio recording of the song on the YouTube gathered the total of 600 million views!

The catchy number proved the versatility of this guy from the suburbs of Amsterdam as well as the fact that he does not follow trends – he creates them. He was invited to perform on one of the most famous US talk shows, “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” – an honor not frequently granted to the artists in his profession, and Garrix once again proved his talents when he appeared on the stage with a guitar! One of the last year’s highlights for Garrix is certainly his collaboration with pop star Dua Lipa on the hit titled “Scared to Be Lonely”, which has been streamed almost 350 million times.

EXIT festival will take place from July 12th to 15th at the Petrovaradin fortress in Novi Sad, featuring some of the most popular world stars such as Migos, Grace Jones, David Guetta, Ziggy Marley, Fever Ray, LP, Alice Merton, Nina Kraviz, Richie Hawtin, Adam Beyer b2b Ida Engberg, Maceo Plex, Solomun, Amelie Lens, Ben Klock, Dog Eat Dog, Slaves, Jax Jones, Carl Craig, Tale of Us, Sevdaliza, Idles, Burak Yeter, Madball, Brujeria, Mahmut Orhan, Ofenbach, Slapshot, Asphyx, Bombers and many others.

Steve Angello released his highly-anticipated album ‘Human’!

Grammy-nominated DJ and producer Steve Angello has released his new album ‘HUMAN’ today via Size Records and AWAL Recordings.

Unlike anything he’s ever done before, it’s a dynamic project that’s sonically free of any expectations placed upon him and a result of a life changing event. It features Pusha T, T.D. Jakes (one of the USA’s most prominent biggest preachers) and many more.

One year ago, Steve lost himself, along with the hope and love he had for his art and music. He walked away from music and moved back to his home of Stockholm, completely incapable of creating art.

Ready to leave it all behind, one day, he stumbled into a church where a priest welcomed him and he sat for hours, experiencing a deep spiritual awakening. He found peace within himself. He then set to make art on his terms, free of expectations to make a “hit” or meet sales numbers. This album is Steve in his purest, most vulnerable form and his best work to date.

Additionally, Steve Angello has announced a once in a lifetime opportunity where he will give away a select number of lifetime passes throughout the summer to any of his solo shows. The first opportunity for fans to enter for a chance to win is by pre-saving his new album here.

armin van buuren

Lost Frequencies partners with James Blunt on new single ‘Melody’!

After the multi-million-stream success of his previous releases – including the wildly fruitful melodies and raw vocals of ‘Crazy’ – DJ and producer, Lost Frequencies has returned with another definite dance music staple.

Today, the Belgian superstar took to his own Found Frequencies label to release ‘Melody’, his highly anticipated team-up with U.K. singer-songwriter, chart breaker and Grammy nominee James Blunt.

Drawing on his expansive electronic pallet and rare talent to pull in influence from outside the dance music spectrum, Lost Frequencies pays homage to country sounds by imbuing ‘Melody’ with melodic guitar strums and by twisting Blunt‘s soaring vocal into a unique loop come the chorus, which flows around the rhythm like a waterfall.

Spotlighting a stellar vocalist-producer fusion in this merger of disparate sounds that has grown into a beautifully individual record, Lost Frequencies said of the release:

“I’ve been a really big fan of James Blunt these past years; I love his voice and music. To make a track together is something I wouldn’t have even dreamed of a few years ago, but here we are. James sent me the demo he had of ‘Melody’ and I started working on it immediately.

I did a bunch of different versions of the track until the final version was made and everybody loved it. It was a fairly quick process considering we were both gone a lot on tour and doing a lot of other projects, and I’m super happy we found a version of the track where both our worlds are perfectly balanced.”

Equally excited with the union and its productive results, James Blunt said:

“I’d been in the studio writing with Steve Mac (co-writer/co-producer of Ed Sheeran’s ‘Shape Of You’) and Ammar Malik (co-writer of Maroon 5’s ‘Move Like Jagger’), and we wrote a song called ‘Hey, Melody’.

It didn’t quite fit my album, but I loved it, so when Lost Frequencies approached me asking to work together, I was thrilled – I was already a fan of his and really wanted the song to be heard. He plucked the chorus, worked his magic and made a great summer track out of it.”
