Darius Syrossian release his first solo EP entitled ‘Revolution’

Illustrious DJ and producer Darius Syrossian release his first solo EP on Mar-T’s esteemed label, Wow! Recordings, entitled ‘Revolution’.

Infamously outspoken DJ, producer, label boss and radio host Darius Syrossian has firmly positioned himself as one of the UK’s finest recent exports. Past releases on the likes of Yousef’s Circus, Steve Lawler’s VIVa and Jamie Jones‘ Hot Creations presented him the opportunity to showcase his skills in the studio, whilst an ever-hectic touring schedule has seen him demonstrate his prowess behind the decks too.

Although ‘Revolution’ comes as his first solo offering for Wow!, he did team up with fellow UK artist Doorly for their 2016 collaborative EP, ‘Reality Check’, which saw the lead track stay at #1 on Beatport (Tech House chart) for over a month.

Kicking off the release is ‘Applebum’, an energetic Tech-House groover that opens with a sample from A Tribe Called Quest’s cult classic, ‘Bonita Applebum’, before progressing with headstrong drums, synths and a surging bassline.

Following is a remix of ‘Applebum’ from Wow! Recordings’ head honchos Luca Donzelli & Mar-T, who choose to loop the Tribe sample throughout, adding several percussive elements and a killer breakdown mid-way through.

The EP’s title-named track, ‘Revolution’, closes the release, a dark, throbbing number that sees Syorssian combine soulful vocals with low-end drums, looped cymbals, warbling synths and an uncompromising bassline.

Vice President of Live Nation caught using a pen-camera to film up women skirts

live nation

Andrew Macrae, a vice president of the world’s largest live entertainment company Live Nation, gets terminated after being arrested for secretly filming unsuspecting women.

Recent allegations stem from an incident that took place on a train in London this past July. Reports state that the victim was a female who was wearing a red dress. An off-duty policeman was luckily on the same train and took notice of Macrae “acting suspiciously”.

The officer stated that the defendant seemed to be continuously changing the angle of his laptop bag. It was later revealed that the bag was partially concealing a hidden pen-style camera, which Macrae was using to film women.

More charges were filed after the police raided Andrew Macrae‘s home in Redhill, Surrey. The search revealed that the defendant had been secretly filming a female neighbor and house guest, compiling nearly 50,000 images of the victims.

Prosecutor on the case, Angela Mehadio, stated that it had went on for at least 3 years from his home. She also advised the court, “Macrae admitted his intention was to film up skirts for his own personal and sexual gratification”.

She also added that Andrew Macrae has since pleaded guilty to seven counts of voyeurism for the purpose of sexual gratification.

A statement condemning the defendant, and those alike was given by Live Nation. Although they briefly voiced their opinion, while charges against the former VP are still pending, Live Nation was unwilling to comment on the matter any further. Macrae is scheduled for a sentencing hearing at inner London Crown Court on November 7th.

Turntables and CDJs have been banned from this Nightclub!

dj busted

Liquid Sky Berlin has announced that no CDJs or Turntables will be found in the Kreuzberg-based club.

Declaring itself a nightclub that doesn’t intend to “represent ordinary DJ culture”, this place has gone against the norm and banned turntables and CDJs.

Liquid Sky Berlin wrote in a post:

“This is NOT because we disrespect DJs. It’s because we are not just another Berlin nightclub. We support other formats / unique styles / different thinking / alternative tastes and emerging uses of both newer and older technology.”

With that in mind, this underground nightclub welcomes a variety of wonky replacements that include busted Sony tape players, shortwave radios, Nintendo Gameboys, modular synths and even “hacked home-fitness-trainers.”

If you haven’t heard by now, Harvey Weinstein’s reputation is in the tank.

The once renounced producer Harvey Weinstein, has been slammed by people across the film industry after an expose piece written by The NY Times deemed him responsible for years of sexual predation towards the women of Hollywood.

Since the explosive article was released, countless people have voiced their support for his victims across social media — and some have even stepped forward to share their own stories of past sexual harassment and trauma. Doing something like this is never an easy task, and we commend every single one of you brave women brave enough to do so.

One of brave includes DJ and producer Alison Wonderland.

Wonderland, who typically voices her stance on mental health issues and social stigmas, submitted several posts on Twitter yesterday detailing her own personal experience with sexual harassment.

“Years ago I got sexually harassed at my old job by a man high up in the company. It was awful. I cried. My dad had to pick me up from work..” she tweeted. “The next day I went to HR & they said “well u are pretty and he was drunk” then subtly told me if I took it any further I would lose my job.”

The artist then goes on to explain how she then found the man on Facebook, and considered telling his wife. She then added that young girls should stand against any form of sexual violation. We appreciate that she spoke up and the fact that she took care to make sure this doesn’t happen to others.
