nic fanciulli album

Nic Fanciulli is a name synonymous with electronic music culture. As part of the generation of DJs that were formative of the revolution of dance music in Ibiza, Nic’s career has spanned two decades at the forefront of the UK underground scenes.

My Heart‘, Nic‘s debut album is an amalgamation of these experiences and passions. Set for release on the 20th October, ‘My Heart’ has been an open, creative space where Nic set out to delve into new and experimental soundscapes.

Over the course of the 15-track LP, Fanciulli explores a variety of musical landscapes, moods and emotions. ‘My Heart‘ presents club-ready tracks offset with more downtempo tracks for the home-listener.

“The conception of the album started ten years ago and there’s probably been around 300 records written in that time. I’ve spent so much time and effort making this album that it’s essentially become a part of me, it has become my heart and my soul” – Nic Fanciulli

Collaboration has been a recurrent theme throughout Nic’s career and ‘My Heart’ is an illustrious presentation of guest collaborators. Nic’s first track from the album is ‘Wrong‘, featuring long-time friend Agoria and electro vocalist JAW. ‘Wrong‘ is Nic’s first original production to drop following his remixes of Jamie XX and Gorillaz. ‘Wrong‘ is a showcase of Nic’s signature deep sound offset with JAW’s soaring vocals.

On the album, Nic also collaborates with Guy Gerber, Audion, CONSTANCE, Innervisions affiliate Eagles & Butterflies and one of the early Chicago house music pioneers Jamie Principle lends his hand to ‘100mph‘.

Breaking: 80.000 People Evacuated from Music Festival due to Terrorist Threat

Rock am Ring, a music festival in western Germany, is being evacuated over a “terrorist threat”, the organisers have announced.

80,000 people were evacuated from the Rock am Ring, at the Nürburgring in the north-west of the country on Friday, after police received information on a suspected terror threat. It has not yet been confirmed the nature of the threat and an investigation has been launched.

This new threat comes just weeks after the terrible bombing that occurred in Manchester, England during an Ariana Grande concert.

The organisers said in a Facebook post they hoped the festival would resume on Saturday:

“Due to a terrorist threat the police have advised us to interrupt the festival. We ask all festival visitors to leave the festival site in a calm and controlled manner towards the exits and camping grounds. We have to support the police investigations.

All visitors will be kept informed about any developments on all Rock am Ring Social Media channels, radio and the speakers. We hope that the festival will continue tomorrow. Thank you for your cooperation.”

Warning over ‘life-threatening’ ecstasy tablets known as ‘Beanos’ or ‘Red Y shaped Defcons’

Two teenagers have been admitted to hospital after a “rogue batch” of ecstasy tablets known as ‘Beanos’ or ‘Red Y shaped Defcons’ began circulating on the Isle of Wight.

Officers are warning people not to take any tablets they may have bought recently believing them to be ecstasy. Police said taking the tablets could be “life threatening” and urged anyone who had any to hand them to Newport Police Station. Hampshire Constabulary says anyone who does so will not be prosecuted for possession of illegal drugs.

DC Jessica Hughes, who is leading the investigation, said:

“We do not condone the sale or use of any illegal substances, however in this particular case it is imperative that we establish where these tablets have come from and who may be in possession of them before anyone else takes them.

“They pose a significant risk to people’s health and I would urge anyone who may have information about them to contact us immediately” she added.

The warning comes just a week before the Isle of Wight Festival, which will see 10000 festival-gores flock to the island from next Thursday.

Anyone with information regarding the investigation is urged to call 101, quoting reference ‘44170204475’, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Over 50 Arrests and 32 Hospitalized at Sunset Music Festival !!!

This years Sunset Music Festival saw some drastic increases in arrests and hospitalizations leaving authorities shocked and disappointed.

The festival took place in Tampa, Florida this past weekend at the famous Raymond James Stadium where the Buccaneers call home. Numbers indicated that over 50,000 people attended the two-day event and being a National Holliday, it’s no wonder people decided to go a little crazy.

On Saturday alone, authorities stated that 32 attendees were transported to nearby hospitals and another 65 were treated on site, apparently Sundays numbers have yet to be released. Although these numbers seem very high, medical staff claim that only a few patients were treated for drug related problems. The weather seemed to play a large role in these hospitalizations due to upwards of 90 degrees all weekend.

To top the weekend off, Tampa Police stated there were around 30 felony arrests, 16 misdemeanor arrests and 5 marijuana citations throughout the weekend festival. It’s very likely the numbers jumped from last year due to the new ‘zero-tolerance’ drugs policy enforced this year. One positive from the weekend was apparently there were no major criminal incidents that took place over the weekend.

A top promoter of SMF had this to say about the festival:

“Protecting the health, safety and welfare of our fans and our community is Sunset MusicFestival’s (SMF) top priority,” said SMF promoter John Santoro.

“SMF has worked successfully in collaboration with Tampa Sports Authority (TSA), Tampa Police Department (TPD) and Tampa Fire Rescue (TFR), to create and maintain a safe environment at this year’s festival.

Our increased security measures kept fans safe; additional medical personnel and hydration strategies kept fans healthy. While any medical incidents are unfortunate, we are pleased that all medical incidents at this year’s Festival were non-life- threatening and consistent with medical incidents typical to large events.

SMF pays for all medical and safety resources, at and beyond the levels prescribed to us by TPD, TFR and TSA, in order to meet anticipated Festival demands and not overtax city resources” he added.

Coca-Cola company looks to heighten appeal among ravers and festival goers with bottles that turn into festival wristbands.

It’s no surprise that major brands are jumping into the music realm, as Pizza Hut previously created a box that replicated DJ decks, and now Coca-Cola is launching bottles that come with festival wristbands on the label.

The festival wristbands, developed by McCann Bucharest, came in 8 different designs. Not every one grant you access to a festival, you had to scan it first with a special mobile app to see if it was a winner.

The Coca-Cola brand has colaborated with several large music festivals in Romania as part of the push, including Transylvania’s Untold Festival, which in 2016 was named Best Major European Festival at the European Festival Awards.
