An Avicii Experience museum to open in Stockholm in 2021

Avicii Experience is a tribute museum opening to fans and the public in Stockholm, Sweden, next year. Avicii Experience will be an intensively emotional tribute to one of the true icons of modern popular culture.

Avicii Experience will be an immersive interactive exhibition that will bring its visitors closer to the artist Avicii and the person Tim Bergling. The audience will follow Tim’s journey from a reclusive music nerd to a celebrated superstar, from his boyhood room where it all started to the Los Angeles studio where the biggest hits were created. The museum will include memorabilia, unseen photos and video, plus published and unpublished music.

In December 2019 Billboard listed the top moments that defined the EDM decade. Avicii‘s meteoric rise claimed the first spot, creating a template for EDM superstardom.

“Avicii left behind a legacy of transforming modern dance music and pioneering a revolution of the EDM scene that spread across multiple genres, leading him to become one of the most influential producers, performers and songwriters of our time,” says Per Sundin, CEO of Pophouse Entertainment Group and co-founder of Avicii Experience.

The legendary disco hit-maker Nile Rodgers, who changed the course of modern dance music with his band Chic, and collaborated closely with Avicii said this:

“Avicii has quite rightly been celebrated as one of the greatest DJ’s of all time and as an important artist who made massively successful records but what I will remember the most is that Tim was one of the finest songwriters I ever worked with. We could work together for 24 hours a day and his melodic ideas would never stop coming. He was a melodic beast who has not as yet had the recognition he deserves for his extraordinary talent. Tim, I love and miss you my friend!”

At Avicii Experience visitors will be able to peer inside the creative process and the many collaborations behind the music. Previously unreleased material that was the foundation for the posthumous album “Tim” will be made available for the first time as will unpublished early versions of the breakthrough hit song ‘Levels’.

The artist Aloe Blacc co-wrote the mega hit ‘Wake Me Up’ in collaboration with Avicii and Mike Einziger said, “Tim was a musical genius. He was boundless and incredibly driven in his creativity. He had the ability to unite people with his music. I’m certain that with his fans’ memories his legacy will last forever.”

Avicii Experience is a part of SPACE, a new and unique concept combining gaming, music, and content creation, the key ingredients of digital culture, all under one roof. SPACE is set to open in Stockholm, Sweden in 2021 at Sergels torg in the city center.

A portion of the revenues from Avicii Experience will go to the Tim Bergling Foundation. “At SPACE we will carry out activities focusing on youth, with the aim to have an open and inclusive dialogue in regards to mental health,” says Klas Bergling, Tim’s father and co-founder of the Tim Bergling Foundation together with his wife Anki Lidén.

Enamour drops remix of Above & Beyond’s ‘Homecoming’

Part of the next wave of progressive talent, Anjunabeats welcomes Michael Gold, a.k.a., Enamour, to the family.

Based in Washington DC, Enamour’s career so far has seen releases with Deadmau5‘ mau5trap, Sharam’s Yoshitoshi Recordings, and Lane 8’s This Never Happened (‘Love Syndrome’, which was heavily supported on Sirius XM Chill).

Enamour is bringing his laidback style to ‘Homecoming’, one of Above & Beyond’s ambient interludes from 2019’s ‘Flow State’, an album for yoga and meditation.

James Jager remixes Guantanamo Bae’s single ‘Happy Sadness’

DJ and producer Guantanamo Bae took inspiration for this single from time spent working as a prison guard in Guantanamo Bay. Experiencing a spectrum of emotions while dealing with the secluded conditions, GB wrote ‘Happy Sadness’.

This creative piece, in today’s climate of isolation due to the global pandemic, provides an uplifting dance track that allows the listener to zone out and enjoy the positive energy emitted from this single.

James Jager’s remix of the single adds to the original intention of Guantanamo Bae by creating an epic dance track that is expertly produced, allowing the listener to disappear into the euphoric flow of the melody effortlessly.

Various instrumental drops throughout the track, like the one found around the three-minute mark, add just the right amount of space for anticipation to build, resulting in a gratifying sound that will absolutely please fans of dance music.

A powerful bass-line, coupled with panned instrumentation, an energetic beat and an addictive vocal line amalgamate to form a sound that is both unique to James Jager and true to the original single. ID&T organizes ultimate chill out vacation at camping ‘Tijdloos’

Tijdloos (transl.: timeless) is an intimate camping experience for all ages, with a wide range of activities for the body & mind and soul with compliance to the 1,5-meter distance that is required by the Dutch government.

As this year’s festival summer and foreign summer holidays grinds to a halt and ID&T‘s numerous decor pieces are left unused, ID&T steps in with a brand-new and surprising concept.

From July 10th to August 17th, Tijdloos invites its guests to enjoy their summer vacation on the vast expanse of acres of the beautiful Ermerstrand in the province of Drenthe, the Netherlands. For almost 5 weeks, the campsite will be transformed into a magical summer destination where busy agendas, appointments – and even time – are left behind.

Creativity, innovation and passion to bring people together is deeply rooted in the DNA of the founders of events like Mysteryland, Defqon.1 Weekend Festival and Welcome to the Future.

After receiving the news that no festivals will be taking place this season, the Tijdloos seed was planted and has carefully been cultivated since this day; and all the love and craftsmanship which has been built for decades is now intimately reinvented at Tijdloos.

Between spacious lawns, forests, islands and a lake the campsite guests are given the opportunity to fully live in the present moment. Various activities are spread upon 50 acres of natural surroundings such as a broad spiritual and mindfulness program, water sports and outdoor activities, interactive art installations, world music and lectures for adults as well as the younger guests. The entire landscape is colourfully decorated with the most beautiful decor pieces and light installations, following the ID&T philosophy.

Guests can choose between different glamping accommodations that are fully equipped, but also have the opportunity to bring their own tent. During the intimate gathering, the organization conforms to all guidelines of the Dutch Institute of Health and Environment (RIVM) and the regulations of the security regions will apply. Social distancing will be in place, at both the campsite and during the activities.

Woo York reveal their favorite tracks on Afterlife

In just a few short years Woo York have managed to make the step of unknown producers to headliners in impressive fashion. Although they make it look easy, theirs is no overnight tale of success, and much of the Ukranian’s success can be attributed to their knack for brilliant, melodic flourishes, the likes of which you remember long after the night has drawn to a close.

The case when they say: real music is never old. This track from the best sideshows our style and the main ideas that we lay in our work. Achieving maximum effect with a minimum number of tools. The track is also interesting because this is our first release on Afterlife.

Woo York – Chasing the Dream

‘Main theme’ of our debut album. Here as a whole, it is necessary to take into account not a single composition, but the album as a whole. When listening to which you are immersed in musical chronology. It’s like a favourite movie that you watch over and over again.

Mind Against – Walking Away

The track catches with its groove, piano chords and atmospheric pads. Touching vocals create an atmosphere of oblivion in front of the listener. I like the emotion that remains after listening to this composition. It’s like the aftertaste after a good aged wine.

Colyn – Resolve

I liked that this artist went to the label with his matured style. A pleasant, harmonious melody with the use of vibrato. And he repeats this technique in his subsequent compositions. Romantically and sincerely telling his musical story.

Vaal – Wander To Hell (Locked Groove Remix)

An excellent remix that transferred the original track to the dance floors.
The unobtrusive motif of the Brass’s line creates a rhythmic wiggle. This condition goes into a hypnotic effect. Like a fakir game for snakes.

CamelPhat and ARTBAT unveil very special orchestral rendition of ‘For A Felling’

Kaleidoscope Orchestra have released their stunning classical rendition of CAMELPHAT and ARTBAT’s latest smash ‘For A Feeling’ featuring vocals by rising singer-songwriter RHODES. 

The track is accompanied by a video filmed during lockdown showing each member of the orchestra performing in their living rooms, topped with an emotive vocal by RHODES. The musical collective’s mission is to bridge the gap between musical genres and are known to play electronic music in new and innovative ways.

After a viral hit with their Skrillex Orchestral Suite, Kaleidoscope have quickly gained a mass following, reinterpreting music by the likes Avicii, Major Lazer, Pendulum, The Prodigy and Netsky. Outside of the studio the collective have also performed at the likes of Creamfields, Manchester O2 Ritz and Liverpool Cathedral.

Berlin-based producer and live artist Ben Böhmer has risen through the Anjunadeep ranks to become a breakout star of the past 18 months, amassing over 50 million streams across his originals and remixes, picking up BBC Radio 1 support from Annie Mac and Pete Tong, including an ‘Essential New Tune’, and being featured in Billboard’s ‘Ones To Watch’ and FAZE Magazine’s top 10 breakthrough artists of 2020; following the release of his debut LP ‘Breathing’ at the close of 2019.

Bosnian-born Swedish DJ and producer Salvatore Ganacci, now found represented on every corner of the globe, is taking on this week’s Tomorrowland Friendship Mix for One World Radio.

Salvatore Ganacci is one of the biggest performance artists in electronic music and made headlines with a viral performance and insane on-stage antics at Tomorrowland in 2018.

In February 2020 the globally exported Swedish heavyweight world premiered his Boycycle EP exclusively on One World Radio, and now he’s spoiling the People of Tomorrow with a uniquely curated one-hour guest mix, encompassing his hard hitting and experimental sound with fusion of big room, dancehall and modern pop music.
