Nora En Pure evokes wanderlust with 3 track ‘Homebound’ EP

Swiss/South African Deep House Queen, Nora En Pure, graces the dance music world with her highly anticipated three-track ‘Homebound’ EP – out now via Enormous Tunes.

Embarking on a sonic journey across cinematic soundscapes, the EP’s title track ‘Homebound’ begins with synth swells and catchy piano chords that remain the backbone to across the duration of the track. Adding cello and analog synths, ‘Homebound’ radiates a flare of nostalgia, reminiscent of her home country South Africa.

‘Dry Sobbing’ switches up the mood by implementing a pumping bassline and funky synths, pairing them with euphoric strings and piano chords. This groovy club-ready cut will set the tone in her upcoming live sets, as she takes the crowd to a deeper dimension.

The closing track, ‘Epiphany’, starts subtly with birdsong and piano, but soon brings in swelling brass stabs and euphoric bass and synths. The song takes the EP to its natural conclusion, a synth and brass laden ensemble creating the perfect finale.

Coming to the end of a non-stop year, Nora En Pure has hosted sold-out Purified editions in Miami, Palm Springs, San Francisco, New York, Prague, and has a forthcoming edition in Montréal next month.

Taking her sound all over the world at a superhuman rate, Daniela recently played London’s Tobacco Dock alongside Gorgon City, Chris Lake and Sonny Fodera and has a long list of shows all over the globe before the year is over, playing at the likes of Encore Beach Club Las Vegas, Exchange LA, Escape: Psycho Circus, EDC Orlando and Seismic Dance Event in Austin.

Patrick Topping unveils new EP ‘Dungeon Freak’

Newcastle-born DJ and producer Patrick Topping has dropped new EP ‘Dungeon Freak’, featuring Daddy Dino, out 8th November worldwide via TRICK.

With Topping describing the EP’s title track as the “heaviest” thing he’s ever produced, ‘Dungeon Freak’ is an unrelenting slab of rave techno, with Daddy Dino‘s deadpan, spoken-word vocals only adding to its dark aura. Similarly cold and heavy, ‘Snide‘ is a chunky, metallic number that continues to build in intensity across its seven minutes.

“This EP is more like the vibe of ‘Watch What Your Doing‘ EP. The title track is so dark, with mad ravey synths but the bit I’m most excited about is the vocal!” Topping explains.

“The phrase ‘the techno dungeon’ is really just a daft thing me and mates used to say years ago about when you are locked on the dancefloor and can’t leave because you’re so into the music. So it’s more a metaphorical place in your mind, than it is an actual dungeon or venue!”

TRICK was initially launched as a platform to exhibit Topping‘s versatility as a producer, as well as a platform to showcase the wealth of emerging talent which he has been pushing in his DJ sets. Prior to ‘Dungeon Freak’ he has released two EPs on the label, ‘Watch What Ya Doing’ and ‘Turbo Time’. The latter of which was selected as the ‘Hottest Record’ on BBC Radio 1, gaining support from the likes of Gerd Janson, Denis Sulta, Fisher, Diplo, Eats Everything and Jamie Jones.

Off the back of a typically hectic summer schedule, Topping announced new five-date European tour to further promote his TRICK imprint. After successful gigs in Newcastle’s Gateshead International Stadium, London’s Printworks, and Amsterdam’s Central Station he completes his tour in Northern Ireland’s Ebrington Square Derry for a Halloween showcase and Manchester’s brand new Depot on November 8th for a Warehouse Project special.

With a massively successful European tour coinciding with the label’s fourth release, it’s only a matter of time before TRICK becomes one of the most recognisable imprints in dance music.

Whitesquare and Kino Todo remix Mount Kismet’s ‘Teenage Fantasy’

Mount Kismet have unveiled the remix package for their latest single ‘Teenage Fantasy’, out now via Disco Halal.

Israeli artist Kino Todo delivers the first of the two-track release, delivering a minimalistic take on the original that loops a vocal that whispers, “teenage fantasy come here.” Rome-based Whitesquare, co-owner of the Lyase Recordings label, then applies an unmistakable acid-tinge to his chugging version.

Based between Berlin and London, Mount Kismet is a project driven by an eastern music obsession and a taste for the heavy pulse of drum machines and the rumbling of analog synthesisers. The group’s only other release, the track ‘Prunes & Dunes‘, was included in Perfect Strangers, a ‘various artists’ compilation put out on Disco Halal last year.

‘Teenage Fantasy‘ will also feature on Warmer Lanes, Mount Kismet‘s upcoming debut album.

Based in Berlin but firmly rooted in the diverse and forward-facing musical scene of Tel Aviv, Moscoman‘s Disco Halal label hails from beneath the minarets of the Holy Land. The imprint exists to present a tight-knit and growing community of musicians and producers, each transmitting their unique musical identity, yet each united by a unique sensibility, as well as a harmonious balance of rhythm and experimentation.

Two intriguing reworks, the ‘Teenage Fantasy‘ remix package offers alternative interpretations of an already infectious track.

Afterlife presents a seven-track remix package of Adriatique’s ‘Nude’

A year after the release of Adriatique’s debut LP, ‘Nude’, our favorite techno label, Afterlife presents a seven-track remix package to breathe new life into the originals.

The album found Adriatique, the duo of Adrian Shala and Adrian Schweizer, explore a more downtempo, contemplative sound than they were known for. Its profound musicality makes rich source material for a set of dancefloor interpretations, which Tale Of Us have curated together with Adriatique for the label’s 30th release.

First is Tale Of Us and Mathame’s version of ‘Mystery’, where they extend the blissful tones and Jono McCleery’s vocals into a euphoric dancefloor cut. Next Solomun brings some electro flair to the vocoder-led title track, before Kobosil toughens up ‘Tachykardia’ with a warehouse-ready kick drum and twists the serene voice of Delhia De France.

Afterlife Nude remixes

Rampa is another new name for Afterlife Recordings; he gives ‘Nude’ a slick, techy overhaul to complete the vinyl release in fine style. The digital release contains an Agents Of Time epic in their remix of ‘Buchla’s Dreaming’, Johannes Brecht’s shimmering take on ‘Ray Reincarnation’ and a chopped-up remix of ‘Mystery’ by Isoleé. A diverse,
tastefully-executed remix EP which does justice to the quality of Adriatique’s album.

Armin van Buuren finally unleashed his new artist album, ‘Balance’

Today, less than a week after scoring his eighteenth consecutive Top 5 spot in this year’s DJ Mag Top 100 DJs poll (now #4), Armin van Buuren finally unleashed his new artist album, ‘Balance’.

To celebrate the release of his seventh artist album, the DJ and producer teamed up with three well-known street artists and unveiled three ‘Balance’-themed murals in New York, Mexico City and Amsterdam.

Created in collaboration with HoxxoH, Solteroarte and Mr. June, the three murals in respectively New York, Mexico City and Amsterdam represent the core values of ‘Balance’ and the personal story behind it. Each mural will contain a Spotify code that – when scanned on site – will lead visitors to the album so they can experience the art and music at the same time.

Armin van Buuren – Balance album

As stated by Armin van Buuren, the album is about thinking in possibilities rather than definition, thinking about what music could be instead of what it should be.

“Every song I make teaches me something new, and the next song is always a result of all my previous records, the new things I learned and the people I met”, the world-renowned DJ and producer says in the foreword of his album.

“Over the years, this process – and especially the fun of creating – became more and more important to me. It’s a journey that gives me meaning and helps me learn more about my personal interests rather than focus on the recognition I get for the outcome. That’s the big difference between who I am today and who I was a few years ago.

‘BALANCE’ is a new chapter in my book of life, the result of venturing into known and unknown territories while finding the balance in between. This creative journey gives me the energy to do what I do, to keep going, and that message has been perfectly translated into the stunning murals in Mexico City, New York and Amsterdam.”

New World is the latest release by ED.E on Stazis Records

Super-talented DJ and producer, ED.E drops his brand new EP titled “New World” just for your listening pleasure!

Staccato drums along with some lush keys provide heightened awareness ahead of the drop; a moody, but restrained low growler of a bass line. Plenty of layered textures throughout the A Side of “New World”, with crashing wave hits of cymbals, and an interspersed female chant within the main body, providing a euphoric groove for the dance floor. For the deep heads. Might be the biggest track from ED.E to date.

Pling Plong bleeps in the beginning give way to a saw-wave lead. Another moody bass line with layers, “Substance” packs more muscle than the title track, and should satisfy the Bass purists. Funky panning effects on the shaker makes this one special for the headphones crew, and not just the dance floor. An absolute compliment to the A side, this one grooves on a dirtier, but deep tip.

ED.E (Eddie Edwardson) has been dabbling in music since he was old enough to hold a record. Although technically Canadian, Eddie Edwardson grew up in Minneapolis, listening to a wide variety of punk music – artists such as NOFX and the Descendants ruled his playlists. In time, he began to expand to different styles. Fueled by his Uncle’s increasingly massive rock collection, Eddie began his own, pulling from hundreds of different artists. There was no question he would eventually stumble onto the music style he now represents House and Techno..

LUVYA will see parts of the five-star resort transformed into a runway as fashion designers bring the festival’s fashion show to life. With 9 catwalks, the festival will no doubt offer a unique experience. Art installations will sweep through the festival, while local and upcoming artists will create artworks live throughout the three-day extravaganza.
